Checked out of Hotel Peninsular yesterday and I miss it already. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bedrooms and relatively spacious bathrooms, were cleaned daily. The food was simple, quick and.....good. Not much variety, though. A few friends and I have dairy allergies. By our second day there, soy milk was provided for us to have with...

Extreme terribleness. I went on a trip to the whole country of Spain and I felt better when the bull kicked me in balls than I did sleeping on this landfill that they seem to call a bed. I used three tubes of Rub A535 to recover from laying down. Thank god it was at the end of my trip....

Great hotel just off La Rambla so great location. Our room was clean and spacious although had a double and two singles (there were only 2 of us) would be good for a fmaily or four friends for the same price we paid... which was a bargain anyway, Reception very friendly. Breakfast very good with continental choices and hot potato...

It's a nice hotel and staff is great. The breakfast is included and good. The only thing is the smell of old stuff, I mean, it's an old hotel with old furniture, so it's more this kind of smell I felt. We asked to switch room and they promptly attended us,but I guess it'sthe old construction so it didnt work...

Location is good, just off Las Ramblas. It is a nice, clean hotel. We checked in and the woman behind the desk was friendly and very helpful. When I came back to the hotel for something, their gentleman behind the counter wanted payment for the night in cash. I thought that was odd. I refused but instead offered him my...

We spent 4 nights here. Great location 3 mins from Las Ramblas, metro on door step. Buses 10 mins away. We had a 4 persons room with balcony. Only 2 of us. Spacious clean bedding and towels changed daily. Breakfast included rolls, ham, cheese, and salami. Also cornflakes and a decent cup of coffee. Wifi can be a bit iffy. Staff...

Location is right in the middle of the place of happenings in Barcelona. Nice, clean room better than many costly hotels in Spain which i toured recently. Helpful staffs. Good breakfast provisions. Safe area even for night wanderings.Very reasonable priced.

Yet another wonderful stay in this hotel. Location and value for money cannot be beaten. Whilst not sophisticated it offers all you would require for a city break. There was absolutely no noise during the night and you would not have known the hotel was full. All with breakfast included !

On April 27, 2016, we reserved a Double - Marriage Bed room, via an email directly to the Hotel Peninsular. The reservation was for October 3, 2016, and we received confirmation of the reservation. When we arrived on October 3, 2016, at 9:15 a.m. the room was not yet ready, but we were checked-in by the desk clerk, and she...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
