The location is very good, close to the Rambla and the historic area. Nearby restaurants, bakeries and supermarkets are also worth noting.
The facilities are good, with an outdoor lounge area on the ground floor, pool and bar on the top floor and gym. From the pool, you can see an amazing view of the city.
The rooms are good, spacious and with all the necessary amenities - cabins, hairdryer, TV and shower gel. The cleaning is great, with the room cleaned every day and the towels changed.
For an additional fee, breakfast can be included.
It also has a room with boxes designed to keep guests' luggage safe, which is also worth noting here.
The staff is very friendly and the environment is good.
I recommend!

Hotel room: Very clean, we could not pick fault with the rooms of the hotel. I have stayed in worse 5 star hotels, therefore with respect of the room, I'd say that 3 star was an unfair rating.
Rooftop Pool: The main reason we stayed at this hotel! It was great to have a pool to cool off in from the sun or from a day of sight seeing. Please note however that there are no sun loungers at this hotel, only chairs. We enjoyed the pool most days of our stay, see photos! La Sagrada Familia can be seen from the roof. The pool towels was a great touch, meaning that we didn't need to try dry them in a room without a balcony.
Location: Great location in terms of access to the City Centre. 5 mins to La Ramblas, 30mins to Barceloneta Beach/ Marina. 500m from a Metro stop in either direction. However, be aware that lots of homeless people sleep outside of one side of the hotel, they are often staggering about and shout at you, it felt quite unsafe at times as two female travellers....If I am honest, this would put me off staying at this hotel again albeit a great hotel inside. It meant that we were back in the room earlier than usual due to safety concerns.
The noise at nighttime, I found to be a bit of an issue. We were on the first floor, therefore those on the 11th floor won't have the same experience. Quite regularly we were woken by people shouting on the streets below or cars revving their engines. It felt like the wild west outside the hotel at times.
I found $18 for breakfast to be pretty steep, so instead we opted for a breakfast out. I recommend Cafe La Opera, where we got two full breakfasts with coffee for $6 each.
The only thing in my opinion which lets this hotel down is it's location...

The hotel is very centrally located, 10 minutes from the harbor, 5 minutes from the big Rammla, 20 minutes from Catalunya Square. And yet it is super quiet. Both at the front and the back, the breakfast is sensational, huge fresh selection, very nicely prepared. The hotel has a very nice garden to sit outside and a rooftop bar, which unfortunately closes at 9 p.m. Outside of the bar and coffee times, you can get coffee, cappuccino, etc. from the machine for 1 euro, but it tastes really good. The hotel is very concerned about environmental protection, has nice and funny signs everywhere that make you think. The rooms are modern and pleasantly furnished, with air conditioning, large, walk-in shower, toilet and bathroom, but not separate. Highly recommended for a stay in Barcelona, also many restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Check in was quick and the staff lovely and friendly. Explained the key card to us and to use it to get in the hotel and in the lifts. Made me feel safe and comfortable.
Room was roomy, bed comfortably, pillows just right and the shower was walk in with plenty of hot water. FABULOUS.
Room was done daily which was a bonus.
Walk to La Ramblas about 5-10mins.
Walk to the Harbour about 5-10 mins
Walk to the beach about 10-20 mins
The hotel is in a great location, close to everything you need and transport locations to get to everywhere else you want. Taxi pick up point straight outside the hotel. Bus 2 mins down the road. Metro the same.
Breakfast was buffet, with freshly cooked hot food, danish pastries etc for continental, Orange juice was lovely. Vending machines for tea/coffee which tasted great. Lots of selection.
The only slight downside was the hotel could use a bar, some evenings we wanted to just pop back and have a night cap at the hotel which we couldn't do. Shame as this would make the hotel just perfect. Still worth the 5 stars though for everything else. If I come back to Barcelona I will book in this hotel again.
If I was being pickey, the bar closes too early (not open one evening at 6) and the rooms could do with shampoo as well as soap.
Overall thoroughly recommend
.
There were two negatives: my friend and I had separate rooms that backed onto the hotel carpark. Every time someone left or entered the carpark, there was a sound that reverberated through our rooms. I believe it was the sound of the carpark roller doors opening and closing. My friend described it as 'sounding like a strike in 10 pin bowling' when the pins fall. Anyway it was annoying and disruptive to sleep so ensure your room is not on the 1st or 2nd floors backing on to the carpark.
Secondly we were informed that the location was not in a great area of Barcelona. We were advised to ensure we stayed together as a group at night. We did venture out after dark and did feel safe however I would not advise anyone new to the area to walk around unaccompanied. Other than the above, the hotel was in a great location for access to the waterfront and to local eateries. I would have given it 5 stars had I stayed in a room that didn't back on to the carpark.

A bad smell in the bathroom, and when I turned down the toilet I found a piece of toilet paper stuck with what appeared to be vomit on it. Just horrible knowing that there is no window in the bathroom. I went back down to reception, who immediately sent me a cleaning lady but the damage was done.
The bedding is more than bad, extra soft bed.
Napkin with holes
What can I say, well located near the metro, near the Rambla, well soundproofed room. Breakfasts on site at €16.5 per person were offered at €12 at the hotel as
What… and free for 1 child.
The view is splendid from the small swimming pool. But for the
price it was really a bad experience. We do not recommend.

Our room was quiet and clean with a view of adjacent apartments. TV stations are in Spanish except a BBC broadcast. Don’t even think about FOX. Early morning (4:00 a.m.) entertainment was provided below our room by local Policia “shaking down” a street gal. She was frisked, cuffed, and hauled away. Take your own breakfast bars, the hotel restaurant was is expensive. The next morning, we walked to the Picasso Museum and by the nearby (hotel) Palau Guele, and through the Boqueria. Our ship boarding time was 1:00 so we checked out of the Andante at 11:00. The hotel does not have a shuttle so we walked to the Columbus Monument, crossed the main (and busy) avenue to the waterfront, turned right and walked a couple hundred yards to the public shuttle bus to the cruise terminals. The walk from the hotel to the shuttle bus is 1/2 mile. The bus fare is 5 € for two people. One can walk the mile from the shuttle bus park to the terminal but that’s not fun with a backpack and lugging a 40lb suitcase. The Andante is a great hotel for the price and location. We will stay there again if we revisit Barcelona.
