This hotel is in a great location, close to attractions and restaurants in the Barrio Gothic, El Born and an easy walk to Barceloneta. The street it's on is small without a lot of traffic noise, though people are out late walking in the evening, especially on the weekends. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable, and they provide... More

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Banys for a few days before our cruise. It was conveniently located and within walking distance from places we wanted to go. Good selection of restaurants nearby as well as the restaurant in the building. Very friendly staff.

Gorgeous little boutique hotel just minutes from attractions. The staff were, without doubt, the loveliest and most thoughtful we have ever come across. Would definitely stay there again. Comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and decent size room and bathroom.

We had booked a suite at Bany's Orientals, but due to some legalities, the suites were not available so Banys offered us a regular hotel room with breakfast or we had the option of letting them find us another hotel. We opted to stay at Banys and the staff could not have been more accommodating or pleasant. The room was... More

A lovely, although somewhat funky, room directly on a narrow lane filled with shopping and restaurants and an easy close walk to many attractions including the Picasso Museum and Basilica of Santa Maria Del Mar - and a stones throw to the Metro for easy travel to Sagrada Familia. A superb location to tour el Born, and reasonable walking distance... More

The beautiful Bany’s Oriental hotel on our first night and first stop on our honeymoon. We had chosen this hotel on the photos and the close proximity to the Port, as we were boarding our Cruise ship in the Port of Barcelona the very next morning. So we stayed only one night, we had intended on staying at this hotel... More

We returned to the Banys Orientals one year after our last visit and found it once again a delight. We very arrived on the eve of All Saints Day (a national holiday in Spain) at 11:00am after two flights from the Pacific coast and were greeted on our arrival by the charming and helpful Clara. Despite having a full house,... More

Our room was visually stylish in black & white however it was very small and the (black) 4 poster bed was so large it took up most of the space so we had to turn side on to get around it, let alone find anywhere to put suitcases. The biggest drawback is the paper-thin walls between rooms. We were concerned... More

As a solo traveller, I stayed in one of the studio apartments. While small in size, it was perfect for my needs- well furnished, comfortable bed and separate bathroom. While there was no desk, there was still space to store things on the bedside table/small bookshelf area. The air conditioning was in good working condition, which was great as the... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
