This hotel was exactly where we wanted to be - in the centre of Barcelona. Everything was within walking distance. Our room faced directly on to the busy street junction but once the window was closed you could not near the traffic. Very clean room, comfortable bed, huge shower and plenty of hot water. Reception did not always have someone...

Once upon a time, I didn't mind the trade off of sharing a bathroom for location and cost. Now that I've matured, a hostal in the normal sense of the word is not something I typically entertain. The Hostal Amra is not what you think of when you hear hostal. It's honestly like a combination of staying in someone's home...

When I booked this hostel I expected something nice and simple in the city center. Prices have rosen very much and for a hostel without breakfast it is definitely too expensive and not worth around 80 EUR. It looks nice on the pictures but if you take a closer look, it is all done very cheap and anything else than...

We stayed 4 days and were very happy with Hostal Amra. It has a central location to all hightlights of the town as well to buses and metro and the Airbus to the airport. Rooms are nice, modern and clean. The service team was friendly and relaxed, always trying to help us with information when requested.

Great location close to Placa Catalunya! Room and bathroom were clean BUT the carpet was very dirty! (Carpet in a bathroom??!) The smell of airfreshner in the lobby was too much, gave me a headache! You have to arrive between 08h00 and 20h00, not really acceptable for a place like this...

A very good price-quality level! I really liked the interior of the hotel, clean, modern and comfortable. Very helpful and friendly staff. No breakfast possibilities in the hotel, but the area is full of nice cafés and restaurant. The airport bus is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. A few days before, the hostel send me a reminder with information...

We stayed a few nights here in room number 4 (double with balcony) as our base for the city. Location location location!!!! We walked everywhere from here, it was perfect. The room was very clean and nicely fitted out, exactly what we needed. We had breakfast from the bakery around the corner sitting on our little balcony which was nice....

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
