Nice hotel in the heart of El Born. Short distance to anything you might need, but still quiet from traffic. Can be a little noisy at night, in the weekend, as the walls are super thin. You can hear everything happening in the rooms next door and in the hallways. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. The rooms are...

The staff here are amazing and will tell you anything and everything you want to know about Barcelona, its people, restaurants, nightlife, transit, and tourist attraction recommendations. Gotta give Anna a shout out here specifically. Hands down the friendliest person I've ever dealt with at any hotel in my life (I travel a lot for work - though mostly in...

This was our home base during our 5-day stay in Barcelona. The location was great - close to some great restaurants, sights and shops. We ended most nights with a nightcap on the patio. Room decor was a bit tacky but everything else was great.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, with friendly staff and lots of nice extras (gym, water, coffee, biscuits). The rooms were quiet and spotless with a very comfortable bed and a great shower. A little style over substance in places (not enough cupboard space, no shelf in the shower, random bead curtains that cover the TV and block the...

Perfectly placed in El Born area of Barcelona, with easy access to everything. Really comfortable bed, funky room, crazy lighting and decoration, free coffee and water in the equally funky upstairs lounge area, with free computer use thrown in if you need it. Downstairs in the reception area there was a little bar (great G&T!), and super friendly and helpful...

Wonderful and friendly staff. Great location, walking distance to all the good spots. Comfort and safety a norm in this area. Hotel can provide more basic toiletries, shampoos, tootpaste, tootbrushes, etc. Two single beds butted together to make a double bed, however one of the beds were older and softer than the other. Thus causing uncomfortable night's rest for my...

Good solid hotel. Excellent shower --continuous hot solid water. Great hairdryers ( professional type not burn your hair cheap ) water, coffee & tea available 'help yourself' 24 hrs was a lovely perk. Gym was serviceable would be terrific if two free weights of 10 & 15 lbs would be available and a spray down / disinfect bottle with towel...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A hotel that combines the traditional with the futuristic in a privileged environment: a building that is more than 100 years old with spectacular ceilings over seven metres high and spaces designed to surprise and enjoy. Its rooms, with an original glass shower in the room, are chameleon-like: you can change the colour depending on your mood. The passageways, full of enchantment and mystery, mutate with colour changes from the lights in the rooms. Enjoy our “Beyourself” and “Helpyourself” area in the common area where you can relax listening to music, reading any of our books or having a coffe, tea or water for free. Also, if you want to move about the city at your own pace, bicycles are available to rent. Once you try them, you won’t want to use any other transport in Barcelona. You can also enjoy our chic&basic tour, a two hour walk through Ciutat Vella in which we will mix history with some curiosities, as well as gastronomic and nightlife suggestions. Enjoy it on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays at 10:00am. ... more   less
