We were asked to call when we arrived in town. Wec assumed it was to be given directions. As we knew our way around, we went to the hostal, as other friends were staying there for the weekend also. When we arrived, it turns out we had been moved to another building way across town, well away fro our friends....

Best thing: it was clean. Things we didn't like: room change from double bed to two singles, charged me in CAD when I thought I had paid in euros, up four flights of poorly lit rickety stairs, Internet access all manual set-up and very slow, wash basin in the room, only the toilet and shower stall in a separate tiny...

This hostal was perfect for my family (my wife and I and our 7yr-old son). ROOM: We stayed in a three-bed room (307) with its own toilet and shower, air-conditioning, a fridge, and a balcony. There was also a TV/DVD player, which we weren't expecting (and didn't have time to use). The beds were comfy and the room was cleaned...

Stayed here in May 2010. Good things about the hotel: location is really good, central and close to metro; beautiful old building with old elevator ; wooden floors in rooms; reasonable price. Bad things: the rooms are very small and very VERY noisy. No, really, let me make this clear: VERY noisy. We had a room quite close to (but...

Just few weeks ago went to Barcelona with my best friend. Through the Internet I've booked the room '408', which looks very nice on the pictures (twin bed, balcony, private wc). I wrote huge number of emails, asking, whether this room is available for the date, I was planning to arrive. The answer was positive,I've paid deposit, but on the arrival...

I was given the "bad room" (as previous reviewers) next to the registration desk...and I complained about it. They told me they were completely booked, but they offer to give me a different room next day, and they did! The new room was great and included a sink inside the room...plus, the free internet was just outside my room! The...

We liked the rooms (2 dobles and 2 triples), despite their smalless and modesty. However, we had some problems with the reservation, because we booked in early Septembre with their Confirmation at Carrer Mallorca (near the center, on foot) and in October they gave us at Carrer de Torns (5 min to the Metro Station Badal and 15 min long...

We stayed here for 5 nights during the Sonar festival. We had taken the time to pick our room carefuly and ended up with a great room, plenty of space, tho the bathroom was small ( not a problem really). We'd chosen a balcony room and it was well worth the extra. Lots of light (but with shutters too)The street...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

“First of all, make a call! Calls are treated better and faster! Second: you are coming to a city, which means no quiet nights if you have a room on the streetside. So talk about that in your call! Then... if you follow these two steps: you have a perfect stay. Enjoy!”
