I chose the H10 for several reasons: its proximity to Plaça d’Espanya where racepacks for the half marathon were being distributed. The bus from the airport stops at P de Espanya and outside the hotel (Urguell stop) and thirdly it’s close to a metro station bringing the old town and other attractions within easy reach.
Rooms are clean, modern and spacious and mine (301) had a large bathroom with bath and shower in a wet room. There are all the usual amenities including room safe and free WiFi.
On the roof there is an outdoor bar, pool and some exercise machines. The pool area is currently undergoing a light refresh but is still accessible.
Great breakfast in the first floor with a large selection of fresh fruit, cereals, juices, pastries, hot dishes, Nespresso coffee and even Cava!
Bike hire is available for €15 per day with a €50 deposit (cash only) I used it and found it a great way to get around the sights. Barcelona is very bike friendly with many segregated bike lanes. Just seems a pity the city’s bike sharing scheme is only available to residents.
Lastly, staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for nights from December 25. We were assigned a room with balcony which was right above the street where the Christmas Market was happening. We reached around 1 pm from Madrid and finding the hotel was easy. We took a cab from the railways station which charged us around 10 euros. Check in was quick however we had to wait for our room to get ready. The staff at the reception was friendly and told us about nearby cafes and restaurants so that we could have lunch while the room was getting ready.

Few quick pointers for fellow travelers:-

Room: Clean room and quite big when compared to other European hotels in main tourist areas. Not sure if it was because the room was corner room. We had a nice window and balcony overlooking the christmas Market lights that was happening on the street outside. Bathroom was clean and functional with all necessary items. The room did not have a coffee maker but on request they gave a electric kettle with coffee, milk, tea, sugar packets. Only disadvantage was that we could not control the temperature of the room. When we called up the front desk we were told that it is centrally controlled. On the first night it was very uncomfortable and suffocating as the room had became too warm. We had to open the window for some time to make the room a little cooler. But then we found out that if the a/c was switched off in the room, the heating was not happening and it made the room much more comfortable and non suffocating.

Breakfast: Our room tariff included breakfast. Breakfast buffet was good and there were a few items that kept changing during our stay which was great.

Location: The hotel is well located with bus stops near by. We walked to La Rambla. There are many options to eat just behind the hotel.

Overall it was a great stay. We definitely recommend this place

We stayed here for four days and enjoyed the stay very much. Upon arrival we were booked in early which enabled us to have lunch in a nearby restaurant and choose a garden room which was very quiet. Upon arrival we were offered a glass of cava which was most welcome. The room was fine with great facilities throughout but the terrace bar was sadly not open.
However the breakfast at the hotel had a good and varied choice of food to suit most people. The staff was extremely helpful and informative which was much appreciated for us as first time visitors to Barcelona. Well done to you all.

We stayed here for 3 nights on our break to Barcelona. Upon arrival I was told we were given a corner room with extra space. If that was extra space then the other rooms must be really small! At first glance the room is uninviting and when you look closer you see its in much need of some tlc. There are scratches and marks all over the floor and furniture. The bathroom looked impressive but was let down by a very poorly positioned shower which meant you had to stand at an awkward angle to feel any water. We tried to book ourselves in the spa but it was fully booked and the price of the use of the jacuzzi for just 20 minutes was extortionate!
The pros - friendly staff, good location and rooms are clean.
The cons - rooms need updating, television channels very poor, over priced hotel and facilities.
Tips for anyone staying here - the cafe just opposite the hotel serves fantastic coffee and a croissant for 2 euros! If you use the subway its only a short walk from the hotel and you can get around most popular areas this way.
Overall I was not impressed by this hotel, it was in my opinion a 3 star charging 4 star prices. I think the location is the best thing about it.

First arrived to the offer of Cava or mint water which was a welcomed gesture after travelling. I'd paid extra for a Superior Double room so was looking forward to seeing it. Arrived to room 204, which was dark with no balcony or view whatsoever, it was challenge to even see the sky. The room was supposed to be a double but was 2 single beds pushed together. Called reception and was told that all superior rooms are "internal" and none have balconies, and only some have double beds??? Was told we could switch to a room with a balcony but we'd be downgrading, and there was no offer of a refund of the extra I'd paid for the upgrade. We were only staying for 3 nights so not wanting to waste any more time we agreed to stay in the "superior" room. I so wish we'd changed now, the room was so dimly lit and with VERY little natural light it felt like dusk even in the middle of the day. And in terms of the view it was literally rooms all facing each other! I could see into others rooms so I knew they could see into ours. Not nice at all.

The rooftop terrace was nice but the bar was closed.

Breakfast was nice.

Probably wouldn't stay here again, would try somewhere else when we return.

Glass of Cava at checkin was a good touch. The room was well equipped and furnished. A/C worked well. Though situated on a busy main road the double glazing worked and little disturbance. The bar was convenient and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly. Cost wa reasonable too. Thoroughly recommended.

Due to the travel restriction, the hotel gave me hotel credit (paid 961 eur for 6 nights)

Fortunately able to postpone the trip 2 years later (arriving on 18 oct and stayed for 5 nights).
During the rebooking process, the hotel informed me that I can stay for 5 nights and use the whole amount and will be upgraded to the suite.

The check in went well, friendly staff, the only thing to mention is that the reception desk is somehow hidden at the corner - which is quite weird and does not look really welcoming.

First impression of the hotel is minimalist and clean, but I soon noticed that the hotel needs some TLC here and there. The walls on the hallway have lots of scratches and the paints peel off.

I later discovered that the suite room bed was in fact two singles simply pushed together. I stayed one night in that bed, but when I kept slipping in to the middle where there was a gap. I could not accept that anymore.

The next day I did mention this to reception and demand a new room or a new bed. But was told they were fully booked and that housekeeping would attempt to sort it out by the next day.

The morning after, because we needed to go early to Montserrat, I asked again to reconfirm if they will do something about the bed/room and they said yes.

Later that night, we returned to the room just to find out that the have not done anything to the bed, only putting a one big blanket covering the bed.

I was so dissapointed. I went directly back to the reception and demanded a solution.

After waited for about 30 minutes and lots of discussion, finally they could give me a new suite room with one big bed. The only thing we had to to is to move our stuff by ourselves and no help from the hotel at all.

I really appreciate the help of the reception staff, but the fact that I had to complain 3 times (!) to get a solution is really unacceptable and this is causing unnecessary stress and good night sleep in the first days of our holiday.

I hope H10 Casanova will improve this process by making it clear to the guests in the beginning what kind of bed they are getting and if they are ok with it.

Dear Glacier777, Thank you for taking the time to rate your latest stay with us. It deeply saddens us to read that we fell short of your expectations during your most recent stay with us. While wishing you had a better experience, it is feedback like yours that we learn from and use to improve, as we continuously strive to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Our rooms have different settings (single bed or twin beds, bathtub or shower, balcony, etc.). We are always pleased to take note of preferences and we do our best in order to provide our guests with the kind of room they desire. Nevertheless, this is always subject to availability. Since we did not have any note about your wish to have one bed, you were assigned a room with twin beds. Owing to the fact that we did not have any other Suite to offer you upon arrival, we asked our housekeeping maids to set the two beds as one big bed. It saddens us to once again acknowledge that you were not happy with our attempt to abide by your petition. Nevertheless, you were provided with a Suite with one big bed as soon as it became available. I sincerely apologize for your comments. It will be a pleasure to host you again soon and better showcase our service so you can enjoy the experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. All the best, David Torres

Lovely central hotel

Booked the suite in H10 Casanova during my stay in Barcelona and all I can say, was that I had a great time.
The suite was amazing, big comfortable and very clean.
We were greeted by friendly staff and a glass of champagne at our arrival. A Nice touch, that should be appreciated more these days. From T2 Airport to the hotel it took us 25 minutes via taxi for a bit less than 30 euros. The hotel is 20 mins away walk from the main attractions like Casa Battlo and 25 mins from Casa Mila. We were advised by the hotel staff to walk rather than take a bus to immerse ourselves.. Best advice given.

We also had breakfast in the hotel, choices between Continental and English breakfast. Try the local bread and pastries, a real delight.. All in all we had an amazing time and will definitely come back. Thanks for the excellent service provided by your team

Just got back from a four night stay here at the Casanova. As soon as you enter the hotel you get a lovely clean and pleasant smell, the reception area was spotless and you were greeted very nicely by the reception. Our room was lovely and very clean. Bed was a Queen size and very comfortable. The bathroom was quite large with a walk in shower which was very good. The bathroom was clean and spotless and cleaned each day. The is a mini bar in the room but items are chargeable, however they are reasonably priced. You were also given a free bottle of still water each day which was very good. The daily maid service was very good and they were very much appreciated by us, they kept our room incredibly clean and tidy.
We stayed for bed & breakfast and the choice you had for breakfast was very good a choice of hot or cold. Definitely something for everyone.
All the staff were so friendly and so polite and nothing was too much trouble. They certainly made you feel very welcome.
The hotel is only a hundred meters or so from Urgell Metro which we found was ideal for getting around the city.
We would definitely stay at the Casanova again, had such a good experience.
Thank you to all the staff.

My partner and I stayed here. The location is perfect - about 7minute walk to placa Catalunya and about 20minutes walk to placa Espana. The area is good as there are loads of restaurants and bars around.
The hotel itself is lovely - everything was clean, very friendly staff and impeccable service. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
