The B&B has an pefect location with several of Barcelonas attractions within walkabale distances. The host, Bahar, that welcomed us the evening we arrived was very nice, giving us all required information for making our stay as good as possible. Any questions that we had during the stay where quickly answered on "WhatsApp". The room was cleaned every day and the quality of the bed was good. Slept well all three nights we stayed there. We where free to use the living room whenever we wanted, which we also did after long days of walking in the streets of the city. All in all, a very good stay!

I agree with the first reviewer, and I'm glad I choose this place.
Three rooms with bathroom in each room, and in addition well equipped kitchen and living room for common use.
Location is perfect: centrally located ,close to the metro, aerobus and both tourist bus lines. supermarket and lots of restaurants in this street. yet, the rooms are very quiet.
Great value for the money: just 60-70 euro for double room including breakfast.
And above all, great hosts. young couple, very friendly and helpful.

Please consider that the rooms are in the second floor, and there is no elevator. the building is old but the apartment is totally renewed. you can see all this in the attached pictures.
another thing to consider is that the rooms are small - the bed takes almost all the room space.

This was our first time in Barcelona. Staying at Nisia made it a very pleasurable experience full of lovely memories. As some rather good direct flights became available from Edinburgh, we decided to book. I found Nisia Bed & Breakfast whilst browsing on line and decided to contact them directly. The response was prompt and friendly dealing with a range of my questions involving transport and bicycle hire. When I booked I was informed that the room was reserved and I would pay on arrival. I would be contacted one month before to confirm my travel plans. This happened and communication was efficient and clear. Our hosts were there to meet us on our arrival and supplied coffee and friendly welcoming chat. The room was spotlessly clean (as was the rest of the apartment) with a private bathroom, air conditioning and a quiet night. The towels were big and fluffy and hand soap was also provided. We had use of a microwave and fridge in the open plan kitchen/living area which provided a comfortable area to relax in after long full days. This made our stay even more comfortable as preparing a light meal and drinks in the evening was easy and cheap as there are a number of supermarkets on the same street. (Tip - take a travel kettle for convenience - they don't have one) Travellers at Nisia tend to be single or couples and everyone we met was considerate of other guests and it was a quiet and relaxed place to stay. The breakfast was good with cereal, bread, a toaster, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and chocolate muffins. There was lots of tea and coffee and orange juice. There is a wireless network too, so if you take your own hardware, you have access to free internet. Our hosts were very helpful and also provided plenty of local information, maps and useful brochures. There is a TV and stereo, but we tended to tune into local radio which provided background music for the excellent conversation to be had with other guests. The apartment is on the second floor of a private three storey traditional small block. The street is busy and buzzing with plenty of shops and restaurants. Just around the corner you will find a lovely fountain and seating area and a whole range of designer shops. This is a very nice part of town, and within easy walking distance of the key sights and many bus stops and metro stations. I would certainly stay again and recommend this convenient and well priced accommodation to other travellers.

What we liked:
Great location.
Rooms were cleaned every day.
AC worked properly.
The receptionist Bahar was extremely nice, she gave me a little detail for my birthday.
We had a delayed flight and although we had to check out at 10.30 we were allowed to leave the luggage there. We charged our phones in the living room when we came back and picked up the luggage and I asked to use a bathroom and was allowed, which I appreciated.
The owner recommended us a great restaurant.
The caffe across the street where you can have breakfast is nice, although breakfast is insuficient. Below, a photo of the included breakfast.

What we did not like:
We will not complain about the dimension of the room as we were well aware. We saw pictures. However the mattress was awful in Tonga room. There were actually 2 mattresses: one on top of the other and the top one was too mellow.
Most bothering thing was owner's hostile attitude when using the so called common area. I think he should clarify or decide or be more consistent on the approach of the common space. When we booked, our understanding was that we could use it and chill there and use the kitchen but it was not like that. We received 2 carton cups at the beginning and we wanted to use the glasses in the kitchen when the cardboard ones were not usable anymore. We were told the objects in the kitchen like cutlery are not common and we should use the cardboard cups throughout all the stay.. When he saw my deception he said "ok, use the glasses" but I felt already horrible. Clearly, I was deceived because we had booked this place only because we thought the living room was a nice addition to the tiny bedroom when you want to chill. I saw reviews that were saying that the common space was enjoyed and they could even prepare meals there and I saw reviews that, just like us, people did not feel welcome to use the common space. Most of the times, the owner made sure to make us feel not welcome in the common area and this strongly bad tasted in our mouth. We are not noisy, party people but the only evening we tried to stay in the living room after the incident with the glasses, we had to literally whisper because he was watching TV loud and we wanted to have a drink in there because it was my birthday and the room was depressingly small to have a birthday drink in there. We stayed 5 minutes and left him watching TV and got back to the room.
All in all, the place is not worth the money we paid unless you are truly allowed to use the common space area. Otherwise, for a small uncomfortable bed and a tiny bathroom, 106 eur / night is not a fair price just for the good location. I personally, would not go back there.

Pro’s
Communication (I booked via Booking.com) and a guy called Paolo responded swiftly and patiently.
The hostess lady Bahar was very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to see if I have everything I need and she even recommended social events she thought I may enjoy. She is the highlight of this place.
The room was clean and cleaned daily.
It is a very pretty neighborhood with beautiful old buildings.
The place is within easy walking distance as well as metro access to all the major attractions and this is this would be the best reason for booking here.
You get a daily meal voucher for a café across the road where they serve a choice of coffee, orange juice and a basic sandwich (cheese or meat on a roll) OR churros and hot chocolate. This was nice and the staff was helpful.

Cons
Yes my room and shower was small but there was a built-in cupboard and it is standard for this category of accommodation to have limited space.
The acoustics means you hear everyone in the rest of the accommodation, arriving, leaving, talking in their room, using the bathroom. The management has a policy posted in the rooms to consider this and their only other solution would be to somehow soundproof the establishment.
There is no escalator as it is a very old building so in typical european style there are many flights of stairs (I think about 5 or 6) that are super narrow and steep. If you are old, fat or unfit, this is not going to be easy for you and with heavy luggage it will be a challenge. There is no way around this issue for this business so consider this before booking.
I had body aches in my back and hips for the first time in my life and I think it is because the mattress is not firm or the best quality. I believe it would be a good investment for them to get good quality mattresses.

There are three excellent reasons to stay at the Nisia in Barcelona. One reason is that the rooms are very clean, attractive and comfortable, and the common area -- where you will enjoy a nice breakfast (and where you can can relax, read, listen to music, or watch tv when you want to take a break from being a tourist) is inviting, spacious and yet cosy. Another reason is that the location of the b&b is excellent, in a lively yet calm residential neighborhood full of attractive shops and restaurants, with a charming square just around the corner where you can sit at one of the outdoor cafes and enjoy watching people. But the best and most important reason to stay at the Nisia is because it is run by a wonderful couple who are exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. Their warm hospitality is what made our stay in Barcelona a wonderful and memorable experience.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this B and B. The location was great, about a 20 minute walk from Las Ramblas, or a 5 minute metro ride (just 2 stops). The owners were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. The place was clean and light. All three rooms have their own bathroom and shower. Also, the price is very good. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to save some money, stay in a good location, and just feel comfortable.

Nisia is a great place to spend time in Barcelona , the location is perfect to walk around many of the most important sites in the city , the host are very warm and the facilities are very comfortable.
Gracia is a wonderful town full of little squares loaded with bars, restaurants and shops just around the corner from the BB. But the most important item I bring back from Nisia is a new friendship with Carina and Alex ( the innkeepers ).

My husband and I like to get a local feel for a place we visit. We don't want to be just another tourist. We stayed here for 5 nights and felt right at home. Alex and Carena are very welcoming and accomodating. It's just near the metro so it makes it easy to get around all over Barcelona. There are plazas just around the corner with great cafes and tapas restaurants. Don't forget to enjoy your Gin and Tonic when you visit Barcelona. The beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is great (Various meats, breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and great Manchego cheese).

It's located on a very busy street, but in your room you can not hear the street noise. The balcony looks out over the tree lined avenue (so pretty). You are far enough away from the heavy bustle of late night life, but close enough that if you decided to join it you could do so quickly.

I stayed five nights in Nisia and enjoyed my holiday very much. The room was very clean and quiet, quieter than I expected in such a big city. It is well-located, close to a busstop and a metro/underground/subway stop and near the Passeig de Gracia which is the nice avenue in Barcelona, with all the shops and the beautiful houses to visit as museums. For breakfast, you get fruit, muffins, toasts, fruit juice, yoghurt, cereals, tea, coffee or milk with chocolate. Alex and Carina, the hosts, are very friendly and very helpful. I chose the location Gracia by hazard and realized when I was there that it was in fact the best place to be, because it was less crowded, safer and more authentic than the touristic area. Nisia B&B is a place to recommend.
