I booked this hostel because it said online it was catered towards younger people and also was good for solo travelers but that is not the case. The lady at the check in desk didn’t even say hello or one kind word to me while I was checking in. I have two ladies >60 in my room which might be fine but they act very oddly. One hangs all her garments over the room (on our beds) and is living here basically full time. I even walked in on her looking through another girls bed to (im assuming) find something. I read online they had lockers and assumed they would have locks or at least locks to rent but no. I know at hostels it’s luck of the draw for who you stay with, but I must be very unlucky. I think the hostel should at least try to match ages. Also like other reviews stated, it’s not incredibly safe. The door is wide open and last night there were cops bc a homeless dude tried to stay in the common area and today there was a lady bumming cigarettes off guys who looked like she hadn’t brushed her hair in a month. The sheets are stained, it’s SO HOT bc the air conditioner does not work. I would recommend only stay here if you are in a big group that can book a whole room.

This is a fantastic hostel. We are just returning from taking a school group. The staff have been amazing, particularly Bernardo, Carla and the lady with the blond hair who had super amazing English - very helpful. Great, clean rooms.

The BCN Sportshostel in Barcelona was a joke. For 17 Euros per Night you got yourself unfriendly Staff, you can't leave your backpack in the hostel to visit the city (ironic for a hostel, that hosts tourists), unless you pay 6 Euros plus. We ended up chaining our backpacks in a nearby supermarket... Apart from that, the so called "Sportshostel" has not a single opportunity to exercise in any way, the only thing "sporty" at that hostel is, that the floors are named after sport categories. There was no opportunity to cook, no breakfast, and it was furthermore the most expensive hostel of our whole 2 months journey. We stayed one night and every minute in that dumphole was miserable. I was so negatively surprised.

Immigrant staff are hostile and discourteous. Staff or contractors pose a safty threat they should be veted out before subjecting guests to maltreatment. Also there is problem getting fresh air in the rooms.

This hostel was the worst hostel I have every stayed in. I went here on a school trip and the first day we got there I went to the downstairs toilet and I found sick in the sink. I then went into the rooms to find out that I was sharing a room with 8 people with one shower, one toilet and two sinks. I also found blood on the sheets and pubic hair. The door didn't even open in the room. The food was diabolical. it was cold and you had to microwave it if you wanted it to be warm which is horrible. The food was bland. I don't recommend anyone to stay here it is the worst hostel I have ever seen.
