I have spent 2 nights there only. Location wise is very good and close to everything. It is student dormitory or something like this as rooms have no carpet, is clean but you can hear all through the door. Bathroom very basic. Staff very friendly, speak English and in the ground floor is very cheap vending machine. Breakfast plain but...

This is a very good value for money Hotel just of La Rambla. A couple of hundred metres from the Liceu Metro. Decent breakfast, impeccably cleaned rooms, helpful staff. On our last night we asked for a packed breakfast as we were leaving early. Receptionist told us that kitchen staff had left but that she would do her best to...

Great location, near to Rambla and Plaza Cataluña. The room was cleaned every day and has very good space. The breakfast is so good. I really recomend this place if you are alone. I felt very safe. And the cost benefit very worthwhile.

The location of this establishement could not be better! Just a stones throw from Las Ramblas, and some of the older parts of the city make this the perfect place for someone to walk and explore. A few minutes away, you can find Las Ramblas, the statue of Columbus at the port and the Picasso Musuem. Don't let the initial...

It is a very low key low budget hotel but it is very good and clean and has all the things you actually need for a little bit more than a bed and breakfast. I stayed invited by the local university and although the rooms are REALLY small and have only the basic stuff, they manage to make your stay...

The hotel is strategically located near La Rambla, so it is just walking distance to see the crowd of Barcelona. The room is simple, clean and comfortable. The staffs are helpful with directions of the local attractions and tips of nearby restaurant. The reception is manned 24 hours and simple breakfast is also provided by the hotel.

This little hotel is perfect for the traveler that wants simple, very clean and in the right area. Being a little finicky on cleanliness, I was very impressed with this property. it is close to the Rambla and has good little restaurants and shops around. Could not have chosen a better location on our limited budged. The staff was very...

I stayed here during a quick two-day recreational trip to Barcelona. I was traveling solo and really only planned to sleep in the room and store my baggage, so It had exactly what I was looking for: A clean bed (fairly small, but adequate), a private shower, and proximity to Las Ramblas and the surrounding areas. The hotel is on...

The staff at the residence were all very friendly and happy to help. Great location in central Barcelona only 3 minutes walk from Las Ramblas and just around the corner from MACBA. The area in which the residence is located felt safe and there were always people around, however it wasn't too loud at night and the room was always...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
