Stayed there for one during my trip to the Spanish costa's. Staff was very friendly and helpful when i arrived late at the hotel. The room was very spacious with big flatscreen , bathtub , very good bed ...in fact everything you need for a good stay. Also possibility the park your car underneath the hotel. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were fantastic. It was extremely modern and the rooms were modern and well equipped. The buffet breakfast was great I sat around the pool to eat it. The hotel position was a short walk from the centre of Tarragona and the coast. I can highly recommend this hotel could not fault it

Once again, a wonderful stay at Hotel Astari. Ive been coming here for many years and im always happy to return. The staff are excellent and the recent renovations to one of the wings are very nice. I stayed in the old wing for the first two nights, which is still nice although a bit dated. However this wing is being renovated starting in October. I was moved into the new wing for the remainder of my stay and the rooms are beautifully renovated, with fantastic bathroom facilities. It's great to also have car parking onsite and this too has been recently upgraded with Electric Fast Charging stations for E-Cars. All in all a great stay and i will be back early in the New Year to check on the updates.

Excellent place for a vacation. Great location and value. We had 2 rooms, 4 adults and a 1 year old. Would definitely return. Great pool, service, court yard, staff! Very close walk to the beach and to far to the Rambla, old Town and Port.

Spent a night at Hotel Astari in Tarragona on our way to San Sebastian. The hotel is about a km from the city centre so was a pretty good location for the price. We parked the car in the garage behind the hotel for 12 euro a night but the staff at the reception didn't seem to mind us keeping the car there for a bit longer after checkout so as to allow us to explore a little more. Have to say that the receptionist was so lovely to deal with and was more than helpful giving us advice on what beach to go to (platja arrabassada over playa el miracle due to better facilities and cafes) and where to explore in the city due to our tight timeline. The car park is a little tight but preferred that over leaving the car on the street. Main reception and pool area are beautifully decorated. The room however was a little dated and seems to be one of the few that haven't been renovated yet. It was the "Budget" room so I guess that is why. Few annoying things with it was there only being 1 socket in the wall by the bed as opposed to both sides of the bed. Room also had a faint smell of cigarette smoke. Lovely balcony looking out onto the road which wasn't too noisy as other posters had said. All in all, a pretty good stay for the price, location and lovely renovated pool area. Would stay again.

I loved Tarragona, located about an hour from Barcelona in a beautiful beach town with Roman ruins and great restaurants. Not keen on Hotel Astari as I found the rooms dated. I did not expect a bathtub in our room and found it difficult to climb in and out of. Had not been in a hotel with a tub in a long time as most are updated with walk-in showers. The hotel has a nice lobby and an outdoor pool which we used, but when we checked in and asked for a pool-facing room, we were told they don't upgrade rooms for people who book on Expedia. I was really surprised at this, since the hotel was not full and it would not have been a big deal for them to give us the same room we had (not an update) on the other side of the hotel. The rooms facing the street were noisy. The town itself is very nice but is located a mile away with no public transportation to get you there. The beach is below the hotel about 1000 feet. If you have mobility issues and want to visit the beach, I don't recommend this hotel since you have to climb down old stairs.

We loved our stay at the Astari Hotel, the staff are warm, welcoming and helpful and the hotel itself is spacious and modern. We had a room overlooking the pool with a huge bed and sparkling bathroom. The gardens and pool are lovely too with plenty of sunbeds. It is about a 15 minute walk to Tarragona centre which was fine for us as we walk everywhere anyway. All in all a fantastic stay!

I visited as a solo traveler for one night. I found a cracking newly renovated hotel about 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Also about 20 minutes from the train station (not AVE). This hotel only reopened about Easter 2023 and still smells new! There is a good sized pool and around 40 dunes and some seating. The room I had was spacious and had a small terrace perfectly fine for sitting on. Like all showers with the glass over the bath it leaked onto the floor which is a fault but other than that the hotel was great. I bought breakfast at a cost of €10 and there was plenty to eat at the buffet. Just all the usual things you would expect. All in all I think this is god value and quiet as it’s not right in the centre. Seemed to be business users when I was there.

I have just returned from a 6 night stay at Hotel Astari. The staff at the hotel are very nice to deal with. I booked a terrace room. Room and bathroom were clean and large. Not at all soundproof however. The terrace was huge and had a great view of the pool and the sea in the distance. The outdoor terrace and pool area are fabulous to relax or eat/drink in. A little expensive for food and drink compared to cafes etc in the city. Food ok, not fantastic but sufficient. It was my first time in Tarragona and I genuinely cannot wait to return and I would stay here again. Santa Tecla festivities are fantastic and I could not recommend Tarragona more for fun and festivities and it also feels so safe as a solo traveller!

I selected this hotel based on the many good reviews but I find it hard to understand how they can be so good. First impressions are poor – tatty mat outside the front door. The hotel is a complete mix and it was confirmed by a member of staff that refurbishment will continue during the winter. It is badly needed as the rooms are very poor. Extremely shabby and smelling of damp (I experienced two as I asked to be moved from the first one). The garden and pool area is lovely and the balcony outside our room had clearly been recently upgraded too. But when you walk up from the ground floor lobby, which is quite nice if a bit bleak, to the next floor, it is as though you've gone back in time 40 years. Thankfully the bed in our second room was very good so that was obviously new too. On reflection I should have noted the focus on photos of the pool area and lack of photos of bedrooms on one of the main booking portals. The location is good. On the edge of town – about 10 mins walk to the old town. But I would not return until I could be assured of improved bedroom quality
