We made ourselves very comfortable here. This is a heritage hotel with a lot of history...Interesting  varnished jigsaw artwork.

A little tired, but all the basics covered,  clean, hot water and a comfortable bed.
There was some work going on to improve the swimming pool area whilst we were there so I imagine once that is complete in the summer that they will open the pool which will improve the facilities here. Was still chilly so not a problem for us this time.

We pushed our twin beds together to make a double which we find more comfortable and also gave us more space in the room.

No safe or tea and coffee making facilities so I would advise bringing a travel kettle and some 3 in 1 coffees or tea bags so that you can make your own.  There are supermarkets around so buying provisions, milk etc is easy enough.

Break fast was served just around the corner which was continental style including cereal, yoghurt, toast, jams, ham, cheese and boiled eggs.

We found this to be early what we wanted for breakfast and it suited us fine for the week.

All the staff in reception, cleaning services, Break fast service etc were really friendly and happy to advise on our daily plans.

Huge room key which at least ensures you don't go away with it! There is someone on reception 24/7 so leaving and collecting our key was never a problem.

Beautiful building, but very tired interior , some rooms not thought out, we couldn't get into our wardrobe as the beds were too close ,could do without the large settee , which would free up some space.
Bath plug holes rusty, and awful marble effect cladding which was poorly fitted, flooring appalling and not very clean. And a very tight space between the bath wall and sink
Bedding and towels were fresh and clean
No coffee making facilities in rooms, small fridge which barely kept things cold, mit do much as a welcome bottle of water in the room
Breakfast was very basic, ham, cheese and hard boiled eggs, 3 cereal choices, toast, jam, marmite and yogurt, no alternative milks so we went to Morrisons and bought our own oat milk
Would be nice to have some fresh tomatoes and fruit
Although staff friendly, struggled to get advice on buses, cabke car, taxis etc, ended up googling for info
Pool was nice, bar man very good

Stayed here for 2 nights, Location is perfect for the town centre etc but that is only if you can handle the traffic and people noise from outside. Online photographs are very deceiving as nothing looks the same. No where near as nice as in the photos. Hotel really needs a face lift. I liked a lot of the old artwork and old furniture but this hotel desperately needs a fresh coat of paint and the old carpets throughout need ripped out and nice flooring put in. Why would you have old carpets in a warm climate? The room was old and tired. 2 single beds, bed sheets were fresh and clean but both beds were equipped with old blankets and even older bed spreads which look as if they date back to the 60s or 70s. Furniture in room was old and tired and the 2 seater sofa in the room was so old that if you sat on it you nearly hit the floor. Tiny 14" TV supplied which offered plenty of channels. No kettle and no way of making a cup of tea or coffee in room. Bathroom was small with an old grey carpet and old panels on the walls. Nothing throughout is hygienic or appealing. Water pressure in shower and wash hand basin was terrible. Bar and restaurant separate entity to the main hotel. Access to bar and restaurant is via the street or a strange old staircase and bridge over a side street. Only 4 car parking spaces available so if travelling during a busy period good luck with getting a space or even a space nearby as it would be virtually impossible in this small but very manic city. I'd give this hotel 2 stars maximum and would be looking elsewhere if visiting Gibraltar again as they seriously need to spend some money regenerating the whole place. If your planning to visit Gibraltar choose elsewhere as no way is this hotel worth the money they are charging.

Copio y pego el "feedback" que me pidieron ellos, si no hubiera estado callado. Do not say you have parking facilities granted when you don't. Tell your customers in advance that public parkings in Gibraltar are more than 30 Lgs for a night and a day until 3:00pm. Tell your clients that after 9:00pm restaurants and bars in Gibraltar are all closed, so that they don't have to cross the Spanish border twice more to eat a sandwich. Do not refuse your clients the use of bathroom on the ground floor before they leave the hotel. Never again.

We would not return to the hotel. The "limited car parking" was space for 3 vehicles for the entire compliment of guests! The decor was nailed on wood panelling from the 1970s, The room and bathroom were carpeted, again in the 1970s I think!
The bar was outside the main building, as was the pool. The old air conditioning was ineffective and noisy.
However, the worst issue for my wife and I was having the run the gauntlet of Cockroaches to use the bathroom at night!

Had three nights stay in September 2020
I admit the main reason for my choice of hotels was price and with a limited market I chose this one.
It is in a great location just off main street so everything is close by.
There is a small pool and plenty of chairs and sun beds, There is a bar serving a variety pf drinks. 250ml Heineken was £1.60
As other people have said it could do with updating but if you just want a clean comfortable stay with no frills it ticks the boxes, I would certainly stay here again

This is the dirtiest most run down hotel ever ! The owners have not updated the room for decades and are happy to strip a person of their dignity by giving them broken stained furniture, old stinky carpets, stained walls and all to extract money. Not cheap either. Not even a cheap bottle of water like ALL real hotels do. Shameful. I worry about the wood panelling being fire proof as woman on reception had no idea. See my pictures and then book elsewhere. Shameful.

Just give 1 star because is location is very good. Hotel is very old. In the room, the floor in the bathroom is disgusting. Don’t waste your money for the breakfast, you just got some bread and ham and cheese, nothing that you can’t buy by yourself. You can go in the city to have a good breakfast for the same price. People working there are kind except one at the reception who was not kind at all because we asked to have refund of our breakfast booked. Not the best hotel to stay for holiday but just for two nights.

This place is badly in need of refurbishing, dark brown wood everywhere, and i mean everywhere, every wall and corridor, floor to ceiling is darl brown wood, very dark and ominous. Once again a room in a hot climate with no air conditioning. We paid £25 extra for an "exterior" room, that meant we got window that opens onto the exterior of the hotel, absolutely nothing special at all!! The room had a cooling unit that was woefully inadequate and didn't cool anything at all. They had tried to up-grade the bathrooms with waterproof panelling but whoever fitted it should be shot as it was a shoddy job with poor cuts that are a breeding ground for germs. The staff were all lovely and very helpful and the reception foyer is beautiful with some nice period furniture. If you are lucky enough find a parking space right outside the hotel, they will I've you a permit, if not - good luck! If they spend some money on this place it has the potential to be really nice. It did have a really nice pool which we enjoyed.

Stayed for a weekend; this hotel is well located near the centre of the old town. Check in was quick and easy and the staff friendly. There is a pleasant bar / pool area located across the road next to the Gibraltar Museum, with very reasonably priced drinks. The hotel has a mid-century ambiance with lots of wood panelling; however the room itself was perhaps a little too old fashioned and worn in places. The bed was fairly comfortable and the WIFI worked well, although the shower was a little weak. Although the room had aircon, this was a separate unit and was rather noisy; too noisy to have turned on whilst sleeping, luckily it wasn’t needed during the stay.

Overall the hotel offered very good value for money when compared to the other hotels in Gibraltar, especially given the central location. Recommended provided you are prepared for a little shabbiness, if you are after a smart modern hotel then look elsewhere.

There is a small fridge and that is all. There is a vending machine downstairs by the lifts and the hotel bar offers teas & coffees. I hope this helps. We had a fabulous time there
