The hotel is ok for travellers who just want a place to stay for a couple of days before flying, given that the hostel is really close to the Barajas Airport. Aside that, I wouldn't recommend it to long stay travellers due to it being a little rough; examples of it are the fact that the tv is placed really...

Stayed here one night before an early morning flight: minutes from terminals 1&2. We normally stay in the same area but at another hotel, which was full this trip. Good points: clean, free off street parking, cheap, quiet street, easy to locate, free wifi (if very spotty). Bad points: shower was tiny, doors were broken, shower head was broken, plumbing...

The location is interesting in a cultural way, you visit an area of Madrid most tourist don't ever go... The building is ghastly, 70's era decoration, naked women paintings in the room. Minimal ugly furniture. Lacked in space and cleanliness. No soap. One towel each--no face or washing towel. No breakfast offered. During the night neighbours come to drink and...

I stayed two nights at the Hostal Emilio and the hostel was okay. Positives are: large enough rooms, good beds, large enough bathroom, free and working wi-fi, free parking for the guests. But there are some negatives that should be addressed: 1.) The reception guys do not speak a single word in English. 2.) The walls in the rooms are...

If it's august in Madrid you want a/c. The Emilio Hostal delivered. Bare-bones room but really acceptable, great night's sleep. Helpful staff, quiet. And it's a pretty nice neighborhood surrounding the place. Perhaps the best feature is it's a few minutes' dash to the airport. Thumbs up!!

As I've already tried some hotels close to the airport, I decided to save a little bit and went for the budget option - turns out in the end it was more pricey than nearby Ibis aeropuerto Barajas!!! First thing was as I made the reservation, I called to ensure it's walking distance from the airport, no english spoken, but...

This place is not suitable for families. My 4 year old saw the room and started to cry- refused to stay there. Good we needed only for few hours to sleep. We didn't got the room with beds as booked. Room was not nice at all- carpets with unknown stains on the walls. Door lock was not working properly. Did...

Stayed here 1 night, a total of 20 hours, in october 2012. With plane transfer requiring a night in madrid, this was a good alternative close to the airport. Very old but clean rooms, fairly small too. Staff was friendly enough with conversation held in my school spanish. The short stay went very smooth. The neighborhood was nice middle class...
