I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights overall Las Muscas was fine apart from THE STAFF!! One male staff member made me and my friends very uncomfortable. This was because they were clearly talking about us to each other as they were staring and laughing to each other. This was very rude especially coming from a member of staff.... More

A good affordable place to stay in Madrid. If you don't need anything fancy but just looking for comfort look no further. Employees are really helpful and there is a buzzer at the door for you to get in at all times. Safe and centrally located

My friend and I stayed for just under two weeks before settling in to move to Madrid for a year, so it was a holiday and a professional trip. It was perfect for both and the staff helped make us feel at home instantly. The bar staff on the terrace, especially the wonderful couple (Helaine from Turkey and Rob from... More

Good hostel, clean, nice staff. Don't depend on the free breakfast (packaged mini croissant and muffin). Kitchen is great. Good location. Wifi worked well. Rooms were comfortable and clean with AC and the bathrooms are decent. Rooftop was under construction so I can't speak to that. Overall happy with my stay.

I have just stayed at Las Musas for 5 nights. Feeling a bit queezy upon arrival (flight landed late, luggage was delayed, got to hotel about midnight), the staff were so friendly and gave me a coke and insisted on taking my luggage to my room. The room was clean with four beds and own bathroom. It got cleaned each... More

Clean bedrooms with lockers, you can use your own small suitcase padlock to secure the locker, clean bathrooms and the location is near a metro station. The area around the hostel is not outstanding but we felt safe and the staff were superb. We were a group of six men ages 34 - 49 and although we were a lot... More

The best hostel I have ever stayed in, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is very complete and practical, you can store food as well, and it is very clean. The staff is awesome, they make everything possible to please you. Many activities(free walking tour, tapas tour, pub crawl everyday, daily dinners) are offered by the hostel.... More

This hostel is perfect for a short stay in Madrid. The hostel was clean. The staff was kind and friendly. They offered lots of activities such as hostel dinners, tours, pub crawls, flamenco nights, etc. We had a great time. Also, the location is great!

Went to Madrid for five days, I'm definitely going back and next time I'll stay at Las Musas again! Clean and nice rooms, air conditioner. They offer things everyday, like paella night, free walking tour and trips to Segovia and Toledo. Went to the pub crawl every night and met some amazing people from all over the world! But best... We stayed here for 4 nights. It's well located which made it easy to get around. It's walkable to all the main museums, galleries and sites. The rooms are reliable and comfortable. The bathroom was a fairly tight space, but I think that's pretty typical for a lot of places. There is a big kitchen with all facilities that you... More

Staying in Lavapies

Neighbourhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
