Location is great, extremely close to Metro and 5-min. walk to Atocha station. There are many restaurants and shops near-by, very convenient. Breakfast is great, has all the essentials that I need to kick-start the day. Staffs that I met are all friendly and helpful, made me feel they genuinely welcome me staying here. Only thing is that the room is quite small, but there's no need for big space since I'm only staying over-night. It's really a great find. I'm highly likely to stay there again next time when I'm in Madrid.

Whoever designed this hotel's interior deserves some sort of medal. The common areas are great with a TV fireplace, work desk and ascending ply steps with cushions to sit on

Upstairs you are probably going to be blown away how they have squeezed so much into such a tiny space but in the back of your mind you will be wondering if they took it a bit too far.

The bathroom does not really exist as such, it's integrated into the bedroom in an inventive way. I have stayed in places with bigger bathrooms on this trip and they have nowhere to put anything. Flat surfaces by a sink are kinda helpful. This hotel gives you a shelf, functional and adequate.

The wardrobe is a square tubular steel frame with some coat hangers. If like me you are spending a night there and aiming to live out of a suitcase for a night then be warned there is really nowhere flat to put anything in the room. Space has been optimised so much that there is room to walk around the bed and that's it.

I don't have mixed feelings about glass doors on bathrooms. I dislike them. The door is not frosted on the shower so if you are travelling with a partner then you are watching them getting soapy in the morning. You really do not have a choice about that.

Would I want to share this room with someone else? Absolutely not, space is in such short supply I would get claustrophobic. Bathroom privacy is also in short supply. Was it fine for me alone? Yes, you come out of the train station, cross the road, turn right in the plaza and there you are. Its a really great area, lots of eats and drinks and the bars that I have pinned in Google Maps just keep getting bigger and bigger

We were very happy staying here. The location is wonderful, just two blocks from the Atocha train station in Madrid. There is an easy five euro bus to the airport as well as high speed trains to the southern part of Spain plus the local metro. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast on the top floor was generous and enjoyable with great views through the windows. Plus our total stay was less than $100 for a night, including breakfast!

The location is also good for the art museums, with the Prado, Sofia Reina, and the Thyssen within walking distance (the Sofia Reina is one block away). You should know that the Prado and Sofia Reina often have free hours in the evening.

The room is tiny with barely enough room to open up your suitcase next to the bed. The bed was comfortable and the shower and bathroom adequate. However, for someone who is out of the hotel most of the time and only using the location to sleep, it is a great price and a great location.

The hotel vibe is hip and progressive. The lights in the halls are on motion detectors to save energy, the staff is in khakis, and they left a handwritten welcome on the mirror in the room welcoming us to the hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and the water pressure was excellent. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The layout of our room was a bit quirky, but we are familiar with the challenges in adapting old buildings in ancient cities to the requirements of modern travelers. The location is fantastic. Rooftops seem to be a thing in Madrid, and the hotel has a very nice rooftop room where you can buy a good breakfast at a reasonable price.

We were very impressed with this budget hotel. The staff were friendly when we arrived to check in so first impressions were good. Our initial room was on the fourth floor but, due to a late night issue with noisy air conditioning not switching off, we moved two floors down to a much quieter room. Although this was mildly inconvenient at the time, we can't fault the staff who dealt with the situation immediately and efficiently. We just took what we needed overnight and popped back to the original room in the morning to retrieve our belongings

The rooms are fairly basic, I suppose, but there's everything you need, including two wash basins, shower gel, hanging space and hairdryer. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well in our new room. The waterfall shower was excellent and lots of lovely hot water was available.

Breakfast is served on the top floor in a lovely airy room with a good view. There's plenty of choice on offer, breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, hot dishes - we loved the breakfast and thought it was excellent value. And whilst there's no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, it is available free of charge from 11am in the breakfast area and it's a lovely area to sit and relax in.

All in all we would recommend this hotel - it might be basic but it has a lot going for it and it was good value for money. And do try Sukaldea Atotxa opposite - a great little bar for tapas or just a drink.

During February 2020, I stayed twice at the sleep'n atocha hotel in Madrid.
The hotel is in a great location, the staff was professional, the breakfast was served on the roof top with an environmental view but was average in its content. The only thing that made me feel bad was that the room was too small and I couldn't even shave because the mirror was not located in front of the very small sink. I think even a single person room should be bigger, at least 16 square meters.

Everything was just perfect.
The room was impecably clean, had many amenities and the door was sealed with “sterilized”. It was very well designed and had loads of stickers with QR codes and information all around the room (really good branding and marketing strategy).
The speakers on the ceiling that you can connect to to listen to your own music were a great surprise.
The breakfast, just amazing. The rooftop terrace is really nice and welcoming, the food was just great and they also had many homemade items.
Lastly, the staff were extremely nice and helpful, just couldn’t ask for more.
Overall, all the services were faultless, for a very cheap price, I would 100% recommend it to anyone.

We stayed a couple of nights in this nice and modern hotel right in the centre of Madrid, a few steps away from the Prado and the Ritiro park, and literally next door to the Reina Sofia.

Our room was comfortable, modern and clean, and provided a spacious shower, a safe and a double bunk bed. Nice the attention to the environment, with carton bags for recycling, rechargeable toiletries and towel change every three days (unless you opt out). If you leave the door sign out that you wish not to get your beds done and your room cleaned, they will also give 5€ to help the Ukrainian refugee families currently hosted in the hotel.

Staff was very polite and friendly. They have some lockers to store your bags if needed, for 1€.

Breakfast is served on the 7th floor in a small but cosy glazed terrace and it's quite well-assorted, varied and of good quality.

Price was very affordable, especially for central Madrid.

A great option for a great city!

A great budget hotel. The hotel has been modernised but has managed to retain all the lovely old features of the building. Our en-suite had a gleaming spacious shower and contemporary hand basin but the doors were typically Spanish metal and glass and our small room had shutters. The location is excellent being five minutes from the railway station, Reina Sophia museum and the botanical gardens. Although it is in a very busy area, the hotel is on a pedestrianised street and we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The friendly staff have really thought of practical ways to help you enjoy your stay. After the service of the breakfast finishes the roof breakfast area is available to guests with free coffee and a place to socialise and take in the great views or enjoy a picnic. (Breakfast is good, with plenty of choices). There are lockers available if you need to leave luggage later than the very convenient midday checkout time.

I only stayed one night as part of a business trip but the stay was excellent.

High-quality customer service from the first moment you step in: from the kindness of the receptionist to the friendly staff at breakfast.

The hotel has been struggling due to the Covid-19 and it’s making huge efforts to work accordingly to maintain a fantastic customer service and safety for their guests.

The location is excellent: right at the steps of Reina Sofia Museum (where the Guernica Masterpiece is), in front of Atocha train station (the main station to other parts of Spain or Toledo) and near a metro stop that links with the other parts of the city. It’s also a short walk to main sites such as Plaza Mayor and nearby the main Museums.

The rooms are comfortable and have all the amenities. My only criticism is the size: my room was great for one person but it’s rather small if two people stayed there. Also the fact of having a room with a window to the patio wasn’t the best for those who prefer bright and spacious ambiences. They do have rooms with windows to the street, I guess you need to ensure you ask for one in advance.

The breakfast was ok but the greatness was the service and the views from the rooftop. Really lovely.

I will definitely recommend it for those willing to visit the city in a short break as the location is the best.
