All the staff was great, the rooms very clean, pretty close to Noviciado metro station and next to the Gran Vía, Calle del Pez with great tapas places, coffee shops, what else could we ask for? . I would definitely stay again.

We liked our stay here very much. It's very conveniently located which made it easy to walk anywhere we wanted to go in the city. The rooms are comfortable. We ended up staying in two different rooms as we extended our stay and the first room wasn't available for the last two nights. In both rooms the wifi was good...

We stayed here for a couple of nghts in May. There were three of us and the room was quite small but perfectly fine. The bathroom is tiny but everything worked well. There is some noise as san Bernado is a busy street but this didn't bother us. The room was very clean and the beds were made/towels changed everyday....

You will get a room just next to The gran via, 5 minutes walking from plaza del sol. The bathroom is too small and with no window. If you are claustrophobic better not to take a shower! Close to the Hostal there is the cheapest parking place in Madrid.

The pictures do not represent what the rooms really look like as they are smaller and the bed is quite stiff and small too. The fabric was horrible. The noise from outside is very loud even at 1am so try and go to bed late. However, the room is decent and safe enough. The staff are helpful even with the...

Good location is the biggest advantage of the hotel - almost all POIs are on the walking distance. The room itself needs redecoration, bathroom was very small (if you aren't fit you can be unable to use it !). The staff speaks only spanish, quite noisy in night. Parking is a headache here as everywhere in the center of Madrid....

Nevertheless being a hostel is more like a clean - budget hotel. I found the location convenient, a couple of blocks away from Gran Via. Rooms are clean, and have all you need, bathroom is small but has all you need. I only missed a safe box. Very good choice for your money. The rates are reasonable.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
