The location is very good, in a small sidestreet of Gran Via. That means that restaurants, shops, cinema, theaters and public transport is only a few meters away. It is also fairly quiet, no disturbing noises. However, the hotel is old and dated, and not in a charming way. It is fine, if you just need a place to sleep,...

We stayed here with our 2 year old daughter. Standard Best Western issue. The room has an electric kettle ( we dipped the milk bottles in them to warm the milk for our daughter ) , else have to use the breakfast room which eventually closes by 9. Very conveniently located. Walkable distance to many of the touristy spots. There...

Hotel is recently renovated, so it looks brand new and particularly clean. Also, I loved the bathroom, modern decorated and well accessorized. Sheets were white and pleasant to touch. The hotel is centrally disposed, near to Callao metro station. Breakfast was ok, nice service. We felt like home :)

Hotel is in the back streets of Madrid. This is a positive. All pedestrianised. Hotel itself is simple and pleasant. Rooms are basic but OK - also, price is reasonable. The main failing is my room 506, had poor drains. If someone elsewhere flushed their toilet, something gurgled in my bathroom and then I got the smell of drains. I...

Stayed there for almost a week. Clean rooms and right off the Gran Via. Stayed on points. We were happy with the location. Many good restaurants in the streets behind the hotel. Metro station santa domingo 2 minutes walk from hotel.

I booked this hotel using Air Miles knowing it was a budget hotel. While I did have a hotel issue the first night everything smoothed out and I can honestly say that if you are traveling on a budge this hotel is perfectly fine. The location is excellent and within 10 minutes walking you arrive at Plaza Mayor or Plaza...

Great hotel. Comfortable rooms, well decorated. Quiet and clean. But most importantly in the centre of everything. We could walk everywhere. Never caught the metro or a taxi. Would highly recommend it.

A European would easily understand why I liked this hotel. So would someone who's stayed in Europe and not been on an unlimited budget. But Americans "crossing the pond" for the first time would probably arch their eyebrows. The hotel, the rooms, the bathroom, the lobby and the cafeteria are TINY by American standards, but very much par for the...

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is ok but the location is great. Rooms are small and noisy. very small hotel tucked just in a alley on the main street. The staff is helpful for tourists. Hotel is very well connected with public transport like metro busses etc.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
