Spa
The spa is definitely the highlight of this hotel. It is the most beautiful indoor pool / spa I have ever seen. There is also a steam room / steam sauna by the pool. During day time it is always empty, which we took the advantage out of to enjoy it alone. The pool water is pleasantly warm and they keep checking the PH and the temperature often. They also wipe out all the splashes to keep the spa extremely clean. The marble floors are extremely slippery, and I suggest to be more careful when walking than you would even expect. There is also a huge hottub.

Room
The room we had was the Palm Court Suite 52 sqm with separate living room, which we were upgraded to from a Mandarin room as we were eligible for an upgrade if available (huge thank you for the staff for this). The view was not brilliant, but never did I actually look out from the window as the room was brilliant in every other way. They had 2 huge TV:s, warmed towel racks, warmed shower floors, and incredible design from floor to ceilings. They also had a pillow menu, which we forgot to take advantage of.

Service
Fantastic. The doormen always greet you by your name as soon as they learn it, ask to carry your shopping bags, ask for the location for your taxi to communicate with the driver. We arrived early in the morning and the room was not ready. However, they invited us for breakfast for free, which truly showed their willingness to provide the best possible customer experience. The housekeepers, even place small linens below all your accessories, cameras, sunglasses, to prevent from scratches. They brought a delicious cake, sparkling wine and balloons to my room for my birthday. There is always security at the lobby. The lobby is extremely intimate and no people who do not belong there can access.

Breakfast
The serving of the breakfast (continental) comes with a piece of art itself. However, for a man, the food offered is not enough and you will need to leave hungry, or order additional food with a cost. This is the only downside of the hotel. To pay for the most expensive breakfast available in town, but to leave hungry is not what I was expecting when I booked the hotel.

Location
Easy access to multiple sights. Not by a busy road, which was nice for the quietness. However, for example, Four Seasons has a bit more central location right by the main shopping avenue, but Ritz is closer to the luxury shopping avenue.

MO Madrid is one of the most elegant hotels in Europe. The white/cream/gold color tone is beautiful, and all details are simply perfect.
Gourmet restaurant Deessa is such a gem: it received its first Michelin star shortly after opening, and honestly it deserves a solid 3-Michelin-star for both food (innovative and super delicious) and service (impeccable!).
The garden restaurant is beautifully decorated. I love the seafood paella. Service is excellent.
Gym is spacious and with top equipments. Pool is not big but very nice for a quick dip and rest. Trainers and staff are all very friendly.
Highly recommend!

Wow! This recently, fully renovated historic hotel pulled out all the punches! It is now one of the finest hotels in the world in one of the most beautiful, clean and historic cities in the world. The location cannot be matched if you’re touring the sites, The Prada is next door, The Sofia is a block further and the train station is in the next block.

The hotel is spectacular; plain and simple. Nothing has been spared. Rooms are beautifully appointed, bathrooms are spas/ oasis. It is the quietest hotel I’ve stayed.

The staff is remarkable and work so well together, it is inspiring to get so many people focused solely the guests. We were staying during New Years and most restaurants had closed early to get themselves ready for the celebrations. We hadn’t had lunch and walk in looking for lunch and it’s restaurant was closed for the same reason. But that wasn’t a problem to them, they set up a table and served us as if nothing else mattered. Absolutely delightful.

Breakfast is beautiful as well. Just go, enjoy and don’t add up the bill. If you’re frugal, Penny pincher or looking for a deal, move on from this hotel. But your missing out on the true definition of luxury.

There are no problems at The Ritz, just opportunities for service.

I’m proud to have stayed there with my family.

My wife stayed in the hotel overnight. We're putting 2-stars comparing the hotel to similar 5* hotels and to the expectations one have in a place of such level.
There are numerous problems with the quality of service. It's unacceptable for 5* Ritz.
Welcome gist we receive as Gold members of one booking service was a cake, that was left on a sunny side and was all warm and spoiled. At breakfast, my wife was asked for her room number three times! What's that? They don't believe she stays at the hotel? Or is it lack of respect? Negligence? Abuse?
Wi-Fi that should have been part of the booking was offered for an extra price. Fixed only after a call to reception.
Champagne bar (available for public) — my wife was met an appraising glance and first of all asked if she's a guest at the hotel or not.
Water in the shower was changing from cold to hot all the time and the air conditioning was not working right.
This is not what you expect from 5-star brand hotel chain. What a shame.

At 3 pm the staff tried to check me in over my objections with the all of the info on me - except my name - incorrect. My upgraded room with Platinum American Express would be ready in 90 minutes but it took 120 minutes. It took another 30 minutes after my inquiry to have luggage delivered. At 7 pm I am still trying to get a missing chair delivered after 2 visits to the desk. The have explained that they are "busy." If a 5 star hotel cannot deliver the basics is it really a 5 star hotel ?

Truly top of the line hotel. The room, the comforts of home, the bed and room service were superb. The gym, spa and steam room… The entire staff was amazing and I cannot wait to go back to this beautiful hotel. We stayed in a suite and felt like royalty. It’s expensive but worth every penny and we took advantage of the one night free offer of booking over 3 or 4 nights. The location is fantastic too! Loved our stay! Alvaro the driver felt like he was family. Javier front desk was also great. Everyone so helpful and nice. We loved loved loved this hotel and hope to be back very soon.

Spent 6 perfect days with the missus at this fabulous hotel.

Had stayed at the Ritz in the past, before it was taken over by the MO group. It always had this grand feeling about it but MO has taken the whole place to a whole different level.

The staff are just incredible. People like Rafael (sp?) and Zoubida and everyone else at the hotel made sure we were taken care of like royalty. Each and every staff member carried the customer service values that one has come to take for granted at any MO.

The rooms vary but ours was excellent. Bright big windows with views of the Museo De Prada. And an equally bright bathroom, almost as large as the bedroom itself. The room itself is well-appointed with pretty much everything one might need away from home. That king size bed can sleep 4 easily.

The missus found the breakfast room beautifully appointed and charming and the breakfast itself is elaborate and delicious. The Spanish omelette is tasty enough that you’d want to eat it every day.

The garden bistro has an excellent vibe. Great music and lively atmosphere.

The little things like the frequent gifts of Jamon plates and the Easter chocolate eggs and the Macaroons and the extensive fruit basket…made our stay even more special.

We have truly become fans of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz. Can’t wait to come back.

This is the third time y stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid. Every time I find something better, obviously the accommodations are outstanding, the minute you enter the hotel you feel a “Zen”sensation. To have a tea in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the atrium or the garden is an amazing experience, everyone calls you by your name. I can say that the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid is the best hotel with the best service, I have ever stayed.

I was a bit skeptical to book after reading the previous reviews, but then I thought I should go ahead and give it a chance as I’ve always loved all my stays at the Mandrin Oriental around the world. And indeed, they didn’t disappoint me. Everything was prepared as per our communication. They even double-upgraded us to a junior suite. Restaurant bookings weren’t easy as they were full but they went out of their way to accommodate our needs and in the end everything worked out beautifully! And they made my boyfriend’s birthday. Eye special indeed. Miriam and Victoria at the reservations were absolutely wonderful and attentive. Carlos and Andrea at the reception were wonderful with our check-in process. Concierge service was excellent too and I forget the lovely woman who helped us book a table at the reopening of Corral de la Moreria, she was a pro and on top of her game. When got there, we had the best table in the house! The junior suite was elegant and spacious enough overlooking the Prado museum, and the bathroom was beautiful as well. Now the food- to be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with the food at el jardin: we had the lamb, sea bass, monk fish and my guests and I agreed the fish was better. But really, who cares when you are eating in such a beautiful garden! I’d say having drinks in el jardin would be perfect! Breakfast at Palm Court was elegantly prepared and eggs Benedict was one of the best we had. We also tried the caviar, oyster and the champagne at the Champaign Bar and they were sublime! Too bad I never got to see the glorious historic RITZ and it may have lost its charm a bit maybe, like many do when they undergo a major renovation. But my Spaniard friends who were with me tell me thé hôtel is still just as elegant, beautiful and glamorous as it always has been! And I believe them! Oh btw, don’t forget to make some time to enjoy the beautiful Retiro Park. Thank you so much everyone at the MORitz! We will be back again.
