Arrived at our hotel early and was given access to our room which was good. Downside was that it wasn't the room we booked. We booked a deluxe room but were given a comfort room. So back down to reception to get the correct room. From the brief time we were in the comfort room it was very very small.... More

Great location for center city if you want to pay less and walk a little. I also thought the bed was excellent and clean. While the bathroom was large enough - it was less impressive with cleanliness (at least my floor was not) It was very hot while I was there and so most notably- the air-conditioning was not enough-... First impression walking in looked nice. Unfortunately we didn't feel that we received a great welcome from the receptionist on arrival, and I even tried my little bit of Spanish. When we went up to the room, again, initially it looked OK but when we saw there was no furniture on the balcony. We had paid for a deluxe room... More

The hotel is centrally located and very clean. Rooms are small but they are cleaned and amenities refreshed everyday. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Have to buy at lobby. Best thing is great ease of getting taxis right in front of hotel and about 3 metro stations between 7 - 15 mins walk from hotel. Staff are professional. Good value... More

The hotel, the room, the service and also the location is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff was helpful and kind. Te hotel is located in a quiet area, but close to the city centre.

Very small rooms. Lack of facilities for example a bar or restaurant. However there is a vending place in front of the reception offering snacks and drinks at very inflated prices. I was struggling to find the positives but I have to mention that the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.

If you are a single traveler, the hotels usually squeeze you in between somewhere, so you'll be used to crammed spaces. This is no different, since the room I got was very small. But it's functional and everything works, there's free wi-fi and everything is clean. The added bonus is breakfast with daily fresh juices. Metro is 5-minutes away and... More

Ok this hotel one of a very large number of NH Hotels in Madrid. This one is a little way out of the centre (that was fine for us, and was a deliberate choice). Comfy bed, quiet room, hot shower, nice breakfast including good coffee from an ingenious Swiss machine. All very good. I expect if you searched hard you... More

So my room was confortable. .. for a closet. The hotel is so heated that I slept with the window wide opened, even tho it was 3 degrees outside. There is no effort in taking care of the environment, and the sheets and towels were changed daily, even tho it wasn't on the floor. Breakfast is.... Well it's fine. There's... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
