I visited Madrid for the first time and stay in intercontinental Madrid, the hotel was good and was near everything. I could visit all the places by walking. The room was big with nice view, and the service was perfect.

We arrived at this hotel today. Hotel itself is ok, not quite a 5 star. It's a bit soulless although lovely and smells gorgeous. The rooms are super cosy and you can hear your neighbours using the toilet and having a shower, not quite what I expected from a 5 star hotel. My daughter and I are in room 551...

All I can say is that the InterContinental Madrid knows how to deliver outstanding customer service. They set the bar really high. I've stayed at a number of InterContinentals last year and this one by far offered the best service. The rooms are generous and well appointed and the food is delicious. The hotel is in walking distance to a...

Service is impeccable. The doorman is the 1st indication of the way you will be treated here. The Intercontinental has a stunning reception area and the front desk staff and conceirge could not be more helpful. The rooms vary in size but all are similarly appointed and very comfortable. If you're lucky, you can get a room with a balcony....

Just returned from a wonderful stay in this hotel. The standard of service received from arrival at the hotel door until we left, was amazing. To me, the mark of a good hotel! Every member of staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel deserves a special mention. Breakfast was...

The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The hotel has a large bar and dining area with highly attentive and friendly staff. Checkin and checkout was very smooth. The food was to a high standard although quite pricy. The rooms were a little small but very well appointed, quiet, comfortable and with great...

The foyer and entrance is very grand in this hotel. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. We had to change room as the first room had a recess that my husband was practically knocking himself out on. The second room had a very noisy air conditioning. The third room was just right. My husband was at a...

The Intercontinental is a lovely European style hotel. Our room was small but beautiful. I think Americans expect a roomy bathroom and we were not disappointed. The bar and dining rooms were pleasant ....food was delicious. The staff was attentive and the Concierge was so very helpful. We were heading for a cruise out of Barcelona so we only had...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
