The accommodation was arranged by our guide (spanishdaystravel.com), there were three of us and the first two nights we were given a double bedded with an extra bed thrown in. It was a pretty tight space with hardly room to move or open our luggage. The heaters were working great but the shower head kept falling on us when we...

The location is great for Madrid city centre shopping. The room was colourfully decorated depicting old Madrid. The breakfast was good offering to a broad range of tastes. Around the hotel there is plenty of international and Spanish eateries. I am happy with my experience.

Fabulous location, bang in the centre of Madrid. The hotel appears a little old when you go in, but do not be fooled - most of the hotel has been refurbished and has a very modern feel, but with traditional touches. There are a number of Madrid-themed rooms, one of which we stayed in. The rooms and facilities are clean...

Very good location, and very good breakfast. It does not have safe included, it has to be paid apart, but it is not so expensive. The restaurant in the hotel is a little bit expensive, but there are many options around it. There are 2 metro stations very close, and you can go walking in many places like Mercado de...

Great location with really friendly and helpful staff (special mention for Jesus and Carlos on reception). Easy walking distance from most main attractions. Breakfast is excellent and rooms and beds clean and comfortable. Football fans can purchase tickets for Real Madrid matches at reception and also book transport to the airport (30 euros). We would be happy to use this...

I've stayed here on at least 5 occasions in the past 2 years and it's usually comfortable as it should be as its a 4 star centrally located hotel. Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
