The hotel is fantastic, and the service is the icing on the top. The hotel staff was always extremely helpful, prompt, and they always go an extra mile to help you in any way they can. The location is quite convenient, close to many attractions and a train station.

Hotel VP Jardin de Recoletos has perfect location – on a small quiet street in centre of Madrid. The hotel is close to public transport - metro stops Retiro and Banco de Espana are at about 5 min on foot. Alcala Gate, The Retiro Park and Plaza de Cibeles are at the same distance, it is no more than 15-20...

A fantastic hotel in central Madrid. Staff were very helpful. The bedroom was spacious with a small kitchenette and lounge area. Breakfast was very good, with an extensive continental selection or Full English cooked to order.

Big room, with a huge bed, a small balcony, a (sleeping) couch and a small kitchenette - everything you need in a hotel room. Very clean and tidy rooms, lots of space, so you don't feel jammed if you stay for more than a few nights. Personnel at the reception is also very kind and responsive. 4 starts is because...

A friend and I had two nights in this very nice hotel. The welcome at reception from Juan Carlos was warm and felt genuine, and he was also very helpful with information and directions, as well as coming personally to resolve some confusion we had about the ultramodern shower, at the expense of some water spots on his shoes. He...

The hotel is small but very clean, nicely furnished, and very friendly staff. The room is very spacious and has everything one needs. The room has a small kitchen in case one wants to have a small meal at the apartment. The location of the hotel is close to the street where most great restaurants are.

This hotel is uber cute. Loved the styling - cool, still felt Spanish and not too modern, but with modern amenities. The rooms were huge with big comfy beds, pillows, super quiet, and a little tuck away kitchenette complete with stove top and microwave. Only downside: the room had a coffee machine but no coffee or tea, and I found...

We had a great time here! Room was beautiful, staff was super friendly and helpful in both English and Spanish. It's in a really nice part of town, that was a convenient walking distance to most everything we wanted to see. Highly recommended.

This lovely hotel on a quiet street in the wonderful Salamanca neighborhood of Madrid. Comfortable, elegant rooms. Convenient cafeteria in lobby serves great cafe con leche and a la cartel items or you can opt for the buffet breakfast.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
