This is a five start hotel, so expectations should be high. Nonetheless, the bathroom was flawless, once I figured out the how the shower worked (right knob turns towards the wall for shower and forward for the tub, while left knob is for temp). Room key is a regular metal key on a chain that gets turned in to the...

The hotel is very well situated in the heart of Madrid. We had a superior room, which was sufficient, the bathroom a little bit narrow. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning is very rich and tasty. I wish to recommend this hotel and certainly will stay there next time I visit Madrid.

What a first class hotel! Quiet, refined, service oriented, immaculate-the small details matter here. Such respect to guests. Marcos is awesome, making us feel pampered, taken care of. He took the time to answer questions about customs, and to make great recommendations for restaurants, tapas, walks, shopping, museums, flamenco. Thank you Marcos! Everyone always greeted us warmly and took great...

We stayed at Hotel Orfila for a couple of nights over the new year. We chose it based on all the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor and it was great! The room was awesome, was large and tastefully decorated with antique furniture. It was on the fourth floor facing the courtyard and was nice and quiet on New Year's night. The...

The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I've not been disappointed in any way. The reception and welcome perfect. It's all very professional. The position is good. Walking distance from the shops and near same very good restaurants. My room is good it's reasonably large, the bathroom very clean. I will definitely return.

We stayed here for two nights. We were welcomed by very friendly helpful staff. They offered us a drink and somewhere to sit, which was very much needed. We were show our room and all the facilities explained. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. Again the staff were wonderful and took the time to help us with...

Room 47 has a separate toilet in spacious bathroom. Love this. Big bathroom and room has vestibule. Grand duchess furnishings (this is the place for modernists) and very comfortable beds. Room got black as black at night due to heavy curtains. Layout of room excellent. Can spend time pleasantly in the room. Best location in Madrid for dinner at Sala...

We stayed here before Christmas and then again on New Year's Eve. Really thought every aspect of the Hotel Orfila was wonderful - the people at the front desk made check-in and check-out easy, and helped with transfers and flight check-ins. Rooms were spacious with all details attended to. Breakfast buffet was great too. Location makes it easy to walk...

I stayed here for 2 nights before Christmas. I highly recommend it. Location is great, easy to walk to a lot of tourist attractions and also to a sightseeing bus stop. Staff is very friendly and helpful, decor is beautiful. Room was clean, except for the curtain, but the view from our window compensated for it :) Really nice atmosphere...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The small XIX century palace was transformed into a hotel in 1999, respecting the majestic style of the era, at the same time as installing all the appropriate commodities for a luxuorious establishment from the end of the nineteenth century. The hotels belonging to the Relais Chateaux must have 4 or 5 stars and less than 100 rooms, and be outstanding their strict respect for the five concepts that define the philosophy of this hotel chain: character, courtesy, charm and cuisine.
