The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location, the Prado is only 5 minutes walk from it and Atocha train station besides similarly close to it. The room was clean and the staff was nice. No problem with check in and check out. The only con is, that they don't provide breakfast.

Not very new but clean, decent, friendly and comfortable hotel, close to the main railway station, Prado, Retiro park and city centre in a pretty quite neighbourhood. Good beds, very friendly and helpful staff. For breakfast and dining plenty options around in all price ranges. I went there after a disappointing stay in a more expensive hotel and was very...

We stayed here for a second time because of the convenience and value of this very acceptable hotel. Wonderfully positioned near Atoche railway station (grab the bus there direct to the airport) in easy walking distance of this fabulous capital city. They also have parking (although the access roads are tiny and require careful navigation!) Loads of lovely cafes all...

Centrally located, right around the corner from the Prado Museum and Reina Sophia, surrounded with several restaurants and cafes. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Located near the Paseo de la Castellana, and most of the most famous museums in Madrid, and Atoche railway station, this hotel has small rooms but good and clean enough to spend one night. Desk people is cool.

The front desk staff was helpful and charming, although we were testing the limits of one another's language abilities at some points. It turned out my Spanish capabilities were greater than their English on some occasions, probably true of most of Madrid. There is wi-fi, and a desk to work on. I have to say, the staff was quite helpful...

Booking a hotel i wasn´t waiting something extra. But Mexico was more than i expected! It is more than 3 stars! It is incredible for visiting Madrid, it is near the museum zone (caixa forum is just the next to the hotel!!!). Retiro is near and it takes you maybe 10 minutes to come to Plaza Mayor, Everything is very...

Facility is in need of a major upgrade. I went because I specifically wanted a hotel but was then sent to a nearby apartment, negating any benefit of staying in a hotel. There was no wifi in the apartment, no shampoo, and no mattress pad. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Location near Atocha station and Prado was convenient.

Definitely the worst hotel/hostel during my entire visit to Spain. Staff was annoyingly grim and unfriendly, room in desperate need of refurbishment, lacked fridge, hairdryer, toiletry (but a tiny soap), A/C was only switched on after request and was switched off sometime during the night and remained switched off during most off the day, even though Madrid was going through...

Paid 70 euros plus 15 for the very convenient parking under the hotel. The location sold it to us and it was perfect, a short walk to the 3 art museams. It is also convenient for walking into the historical centre and tapas bars. The staff at the front desk spoke English and were helpful. There was wireless internet in...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
