Pro's: (1) I booked a double room with twin beds. The room (with private bathroom) was big, very comfortable, extremely clean. I had all the amenities and toiletries I needed. The shelf was also spacious. (2) the staff was very friendly and they allowed me to leave my luggage the entire day while I was visiting Madrid; (3) the hotel... More

I stayed in Hostal Sil & Serranos for my 1 night in Madrid .. it was simply great ! Location wise it's next to the metro station Tribunal, which ca 35 mins from the airport (& requires one change only). It's also next to a shopping street with a large selection of clothing brands, and through which you can reach... More

Good location near city centre. Reasonable price. Our first room was old with thin walls and noisy as it was near front road. But when we requested for transfer, the reception guy Jose(?) was kind enough to immediately transfer us to a much newer and quieter room at the back. Near a church and McDonalds.

Rooms are nice and clean, and the hotel is very well located, with good shops, restaurants metro stops nearby. The room walls are a bit thin, though and there's a short flight of stairs to the landing where the elevator is.

Great experience and amazing price. We were a group of 3, and when we first arrived, we were shown a small room with 3 twins. For 10 euros more per night, we were shown a much larger room with 3 twins and an alcove with a double bed. We took that one and were very happy with it. 2 air... More

Reasonable, no frills hotel. The staff was friendly, but not all spoke English. The rooms were small, clean, and devoid of any decorations. The wifi is very strong. 5 minutes from the Tribunal metro stop (no escalators). Stairs to get to the elevator to reach hotel floor. Le Pain Quotidien about 2 doors down has very delicious breakfasts. Hairdryers &... More

Just about to check out and very pleased with our stay here. It is a small hostal on the 2nd and 3rd floor of an older building. We are staying in room 314. The room is spotless, with the sheets and towels cleaned daily. We have a window facing a courtyard, not the street, so we have been sleeping well... More

We choose this hotel for its location and price and we were not disappointed. Rooms were spacious and clean, but the location is unbeatable, in between the Tribunal and Bilbao metro stations, and in walking distance of numerous bars and restaurant and also in comfortable walking distance of the Chueca neighborhood and Grand Via shopping. Good value for money, too....

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
