BEWARE: When I arrived in my room the air conditioning was off, and the Madrid temperature outside was about 100 degrees. Hotel personnel had to turn it on and I was sweating profusely until the room became cool. For the following 2 mornings (of the total 5 mornings of my stay) I woke up sweating since the air conditioning was turned off overnight. I had to request that it be turned on each morning. I spoke to the employees about it and they said they did not know why the air conditioning was shutting off at night, and the manager was out of communication for the next week (after my 5-day visit ended). I requested a rate adjustment for the extreme inconvenience, but the request was denied by the hotel manager. Such a shame.

I was with my son for 4 nights, the Hotel is clean, very nice breakfast, we almost never were at the hotel, so we didn't have any interaction with the staff :) Very good location, and good value for the money.

Great location; steps from Gran Via AND Metro and Train. A dozen restaurants and cafes within 5 minutes. Being in the old section, noise travels upwards from narrow streets -- even couples speaking to each other. A/C was a bit inconsistent, but staff was responsive. Not spacious, but more than enough for one person.

Location is great, right in the city center. Rooms are not particularly modern, but spacious, clean and beds are excellent. Low was lack of shower curtain which flooded the bathroom floor :-) Very helpful staff too. We stayed 3 nights and found the hotel perfect for our needs. It's a 4.5/5.

This hotel has the best location where it is a walking distance from metros, shops, restaurants and all the touristic points so really so easy and amazing It is 3 min away from adolfo dominguez (very nice flamenco show there The only thing I didn't like that you have to pay for the safebox every time you use it The rooms are very clean and tidy and the whole experience was really nice

No hot water on the day of arrival (blamed on a power cut?!?, But that's the first we heard of it when we were told upon check out) We could have made other arrangements if we had known we couldn't have a shower after a long day of travelling. Only given 1 bath towel? So we had to share one until the maids came around the next day. I've stayed in a few hotels in my time & it's the attention to detail that matters the most, like informing guests of local building works that may wake you in the mornings, so maybe pick up a pair of ear plugs? Or get some and offer them out at reception? Nope, so on the 2 mornings my husband & I were looking forward to a lay in, we were of course woke by a power drill and a saw. The staff were helpful but blaming the lack of hot water on a power cut and never mentioning it is notl professional. We paid a premium rate for a room that we couldn't use to its full. I've given this hotel a 2 because we really enjoyed the breakfast room, it was quiet and always fresh food available. However the second best part about the hotel was checking out. …

Stayed in the triple room for 4 nights, room number was 210. Pros * Amazing location, Puerta del Sol and Gran Via within 5 mins walk. Sol metro located within 5 mins and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. * Friendly staff, they spoke good English. * Reception will call for a taxi from the hotel to the airport for no extra charge, it costs 35 euros (5 euros for drop-off at airport) for a taxi. * Room was very clean, clean towels provided daily. * The hotel does have a lift so you don’t have to carry your luggage upstairs. * Room had a small balcony which was nice however balcony wasn’t big enough to sit out on. * Good toiletries provided for price of room: shampoo, shower gel, razor and shaving cream and soap. * Room had a small fridge which was handy. * Hotel offers free luggage storage so you can explore the city before check-in time/after check-out time.
