We stayed in this hotel as a family of 5. We were able to enjoy what Madrid has to offer within minutes. The hotel is on a busy pedestrian street, but a public parking garage with plenty of parking spaces is just one block away. Easy for road tripper.

Petit hotels are making the things very good. I was in two of them in this my last visit to Madrid. The Savoy Alfonso XII and this one. Let's star. Location: Great, just some blocks from the Sol Square. And if you have a room with street view and balcony you can see the bell and clock of the Square!...

Spacious and clean with a lovely balcony overlooking Calle del Arsenal. One of our sons was celebrating his 13th birthday and the staff made a real effort to make him feel special. From the happy...

I visited here over a weekend 10th-13th March with my partner. At first the hotel doesn't look too much on the outside. Looks clean but nothing to grab your attention right away. However, the location of this hotel is perfection. It's a two minute walk from the Plaza Mayor, which has great tapas restaurant and bars. The hotel is very...

A perfect little find! Myself and my partner stayed here for 2 night while touring the city and going to watch the football. The location of this hotel is perfect and just a 20 minute drive from the airport costing €30 by taxi. There is some maintenance work on the metro so one of the main lines isn't in use....

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
