Bit of an odd set up to begin with - wandered past the place a few times until you realise its at number 59 on Gran Via in what looks like the lobby of an office block - Mucho Madrid is on the 7th floor. It's just down from where they show Lion King. Check in was very easy - greeted by a nice young girl who checked us in and they offered us the choice of 701 or 702 - chose 701 for the view and mini balcony. The rooms themselves are perfectly acceptable - reasonably sized, two single beds, a nice view out the window as mentioned and the most important bit when its 30 degrees outside - Air Conditioning !! There are three bathrooms - they are small and cramped but I guess they serve their purpose, the water pressure is decent and the temperature was never an issue. Lastly the kitchen again was small but functional - breakfast was offered which was minimal but it was enough to get you going in the morning. Overall, for the price Mucho Madrid is an absolute bargain and a perfect place to see Madrid from.

It's steps away from two major and very convenient metro stations (Plaza de España & Callao), and of course need I repeat that it's situated on Madrid's Gran Via. That's like saying you stay on New York's Times Square. So yeah, it does get a little noisy after 10 p.m. when the musical-going crowd files out after watching Lion King. But hey, at least you have a good view of them and everything that goes on along Gran Via from your balcony. I felt the pictures were a little misleading. It's not a bad hostel by any means. I mean, just its address on Gran Via makes it good value for money. However, if you have stayed in many hostels, I'm sure some hostels tend to hit above the bar and really make for a memorable stay. This one, though, is just a place you return to sleep at night. There's no social vibe to speak of, no fancy or spacious lounge or common area to mingle with fellow travelers. It's basically an apartment carved out into different rooms for people to sleep. The kitchen is small and narrow, and the bar stools are so uncomfortable and pointless that I would rather stand and eat my breakfast than sit on it. On the topic of breakfast, don't expect much, so you wouldn't be disappointed.

Awesome and clean place in a great location. The workers were friendly and allowed us to check in our luggage before our rooms were ready. It was only two minutes walk from the metro and came straight from the airport in quick time.

Nice small hostel in a central area, Gran Via. Typical hostel breakfast with bread, juice, tea, and pastries. It was very quiet in the hostel itself, but there is a slight bit of street noise at night, didn't find it interfered with sleeping. The twin private room I was in was very spacious and had lockers inside it, and I felt comfortable leaving valuables there. They also had a desk and rack to hang some clothes up, and a tiny balcony. Room was clean, and beds comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here when I come back to Madrid. Gracias!
