This is a great place to stay. The highlight of my hostel experience was Zuri, who was my receptionist. She was super helpful and great! It's in a great location and all of the staff were helpful. I would definitely stay here if you are traveling through Madrid!

This was my first travel to Madrid and I enjoyed this place a lot. The place was at a walking distance from Atocha station. The staff was highly cooperative and welcoming. I was unable to operate their electronic locks and the receptionist girl with blue hair (I think her name was something like "Natalia") went every time to open doors...

I do not like to talk bad of places and I can understand that sometimes can happen some situations, but: after all my hostel experience that its pretty big, this was the worst stay of all my stays. The staff is friendly and nice but there is a lot, A LOT of noise, you can hear from your room even...

Hello, please could you contact us directly to clarify your review. As our receptionist explained to you and your partner, there was a group that arrived that night. She apologised with you both about the noise that they made. Our night receptionist spoke with the group to tell them to be quiet and respect the others. Our receptionist was speaking...

Great staff, great location and the bar is open 24/7. 15 min walk to the train station and Grande villa. Several metro stations are within a 5 min walk. Wi-fi is spotty in the rooms but that's minor. The sister hostel CATs down the street is also great and people like drinking in both.

I got a bed and I got breakfast (which was included). No fancy bed or breakfast. That's what I expect when I stay in a hostel and pay the price I did. I slept well and did not leave hungry. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed and you could be yourself. Plenty of options if you feel for socializing...

I am gushing about this hostel. The hostel itself is professionally run with good location and great public transport access but what really excels about the place is the staff. I am the chatty type, great with faces but not names but i will try to mention the memorable people who made my time in madrid memorable. Behind the reception...

My friend and I stayed here for our first two nights in Madrid. She frequents hostels, but this was my first experience. I am more of a hotel kinda guy, although the idea of hostels has always intrigued me. We arrived at noon. Check in is at two. We waited in the common area for two hours. There are four...

Hi there, as you explained in your review, you are hotel guy. The differences between a hotel and a hostel are massive, I will explain you some of them. Mainly hostels guests are young international backpackers, (many times traveling alone), with a tight budget. They want to travel and at the same time make new friends. To suit their tight...

Overall not a bad hostel. The rooms were very small though, so it was cramped and very hot. The location of it was close to main attractions, though you had to walk through somewhat dodgy streets which I didn't like at night. The kitchen was very small as well, Only one person could really cook at one time. It was...

The rooms were very small and stuffy and the showers were also small and awkward for changing but clean and otherwise fine! Most positives were the super friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating when our friend got sick on our trip. Big thanks to Dani for that! We also did the fantastic 'Alternative Tour' with John, who was...

I really love and recommend this hostel. Nice people, excellent localization, friendly staff, very good installations. The only thing that can be improved is to supply wifi in the rooms, but it ok in relation to the other benefits. A special thanks for Sergio, that was wonderful helping me with all the information and support that I need. Regards, Michele.

Staying in Lavapies

Neighbourhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
