We stay here quite often as we live in the area. On the whole it is very good but the last couple of times I've noticed that the bacon at breakfast is fake bacon!!(I'm not sure how it's made but I imagine it's reconstituted) I actually asked the lady cooking the eggs and she confirmed it (not that I needed confirmation, you could tell a mile off!) As an English person who looks forward to a nice cooked breakfast when I stay at hotels I find this very unacceptable, especially in a 4 star hotel!

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed recently at a pool villa with our family. The villas are lovey, spacious and clean with good air conditioning. The cleaners were fantastic and refreshed the rooms daily. The pools are regularly cleaned by maintenance to keep them nice and fresh. There is a small shop which is handy for little bits but I would recommend a taxi to get supplies from main supermarket. Buffet breakfast is served 5 mins away in a restaurant at Iberia part of park. There was a good of hot and cold food to keep us all happy. We used the pool at both hotel (10 min walk) and the pool bar at Iberia and really enjoyed both. Pool entertainment was good and the children enjoyed the talent shows in an evening at the hotel roof bar. Staff were really friendly at both the resort and hotel and the theme park access was well used. Great holiday just 15 mins in a taxi to centre.

We recently visited the hotel for 2 nights as a group of 20 (6 families all with teenage children). Reception & grounds to the hotel are immaculate. We were all given rooms in block D on the front of the hotel so overlooking the smaller pool & crazy golf with a view of Benidorm in the distance. Room was clean, bright & big enough for 3 of us. Small fridge & safe in the room. Bathroom was lovely with 2 sinks. We ate in the terrace bar which had a small selection of the usual foods (pizzas, pastas, which were good & burgers which were not so good) food was hot & served quite quickly. Bar led onto a large terrace which had kid’s entertainment which little ones seemed to enjoy. Hotel gives free entry to 3 attractions & is directly across the road from Terra Mitica theme park which the kids loved. They went later in the early evening so didn’t have too many queues to worry about. Breakfast buffet has a large selection which is constantly restocked. It did get very busy between 9-10 which is to be expected. Downside was the hot buffet - all the food was cold. However plenty of cold selection to choose from. Pool area has lots of space & loungers with parasols. Life guards present at all times we were there & some animation team activities were going on at various times. Pool bar was a little expensive but staff were pleasant. You can also hire & exchange towels here too - free of charge. On day 2 we taxied to the water park -about 15mins a (€15) away. Queues here are very long but place is spacious with lots of loungers (€7). . It is out on its own with nothing else around (except the theme park) so a taxi ride away from any nightlife if that’s what you’re after - we weren’t. There was no shop but a couple of vending machines which sold water etc. Overall a lovely hotel.

Location is great, that’s where it ends. Bar staff are extremely ignorant and will always serve the Spanish before the English. 2 occasions we waited in line only to be pushed 2nd & 3rd back just got a drink! The manager is none existent it’s basically get over it! Very low quality food mixed in with a “do not care” attitude. I would advise you stay at the Asia Gardens up the road which is where we are heading asap.

I tried to book the Melia in Benidorm but there was a fiesta in the town so I looked for another 4 star hotel nearby & selected the Luxor firstly for the reviews & secondly because they had availability (which should have made me suspicious but I have learned). This is rated as a 4 star hotel, which is the normal grade for us. Unfortunately it does not deserve a 4 star rating. The stardard room we booked wouldn't do justice to a foxhole on the Ukrainian front & had no bathrobes nor slippers for €187 for the night. The staff are not very helpful & the whole place just lacks atmosphere. I could go on about the 80's approach to customer service, but I'm in my tiny bed now & just want tomorrow to come as soon as possible. Complete rip-off, no wonder it wasn't busy!

Me and my partner came to visit for a week, the hotel was nice but average for the price that we had paid. Location was too far from anywhere worth going so a car is needed if staying here, the hotel staff were nice other than the main hotel manager who charged us €300 for smoking on the balcony even though the maid gave us an ash tray and there were no no smoking signs on the balcony either? We was accused of smoking in the room even though we only smoked on the balcony with the ash tray that was provided, also we shut the door when on the balcony so i feel as though this was unfair and they should not of let us upgrade too if that was the case. We upgraded on our last night and it was worth every penny, it was €60 for a huge room with a jacuzzi bath and large balcony, massive difference compared to the small room we were given to begin with! The spa was lovely we really enjoyed that. I can’t give more than a 2* since we were unfairly charged, the fact that we were charged €300 and being falsely accused of smoking inside when we did not left us feeling rubbish on our last day but u will give the 2* for the hotel grounds itself and the other staff were lovely and very helpful. Also loved the old sports cars on the front! Nice touch.

I’m just going to copy and paste the email complaint I emailed to the hotel. Which after a month, I still haven’t had a reply and don’t think I ever will! *** would like to address some issues in which I am having with this hotel and wish to complain about the following matters. I hope that we can come to some form of amicable conclusion on these. - The problem with the shower is the screen is too small to facilitate the shower. Every shower we have the floor is flooded and we need to use at least 2 towels to clean it up. It’s unsafe and unsanitary. - The room which we have is in general disrepair. The headboard has large scratches and is peeling away. The lampshades have paint splatter and fraying at the edges. The drawer in the cupboard is now missing 2 handles since the second one broke off last night. Scratches on the walls from furniture moving ect. It is not up to the standard I expect from a room at this price. - Almost every day I have attempted to gain access to the spa in order to book a massage. Yesterday it closed early, after speaking to reception at the time they advised me it would be back open today. However after going today it was again locked. I waited at reception where there was only 1 receptionist and waited 45 minutes in the queue to be told the spa is shut for another 2 days. Completely unacceptable as I was advised wrongly and one of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the spa. It also says no where that the spa is shut. - The toilet in the room did get fixed, however again I just wanted to add here that it would not stop running and ruined our first night sleep as well as being generally annoying until it was fixed. - The front gates are shut to the hotel for some reason which made our shuttle bus a bit of a nightmare to get in here in the first place. I am now questioned every time I come through the gates of the hotel in a taxi asking who I am, what my room number is and to see my room key. How utterly irresponsible as I don’t want random taxi drivers knowing my details and sitting outside to provide these details costs further on a taxi fares. I wanted to speak to someone in relation to these matters prior to the termination of this holiday. I wouldn’t have complained officially but today with the long wait at reception and the spa being closed really took it too far. **** Just to add further, the beautiful reception they show in the pictures was closed and that whole floor of the hotel isn’t used. It’s a fair whack away from anything and will cost at least an extra 100£ a week for transport. The pool area is nice but still needs some maintenance work. I would look into getting a nicer hotel, closer to the town for the money you pay for this one. We asked for an ironing board but had to repeatedly ask over 3 days for one to be actually brought up for us. The entertainment is LOUD and goes on till midnight. I’m 26 and like a good night out don’t get me wrong. But the entertainment is so loud you honestly cannot sleep or think while it’s on. Even when we went to watch it, it was so loud it gave you a banging headache. Also the pool area had fag ends under almost every sun bed.

So we stayed in a premium villa in the village. When looking at booking this property on tui, it was very clearly distinguished between what you get at the villas and the hotel. The villas are absolutely gorgeous. So clean and modern with fantastic facilities and there are 5 infinity pools set between each group of villas. The pools are very clean and nice to look at being infinity pools, but it is very quiet (nice and relaxing if you are a couple!). Angel, our bell boy, is fantastic. His customer service is out of this world and he will do anything for you. So so helpful. We went for half board…big mistake. The food completely lets down the village. To start with, you have to walk over to the theme park to access the restaurant. Not a huge deal but this wasn’t made very clear. We are early risers so were the first ones to breakfast on our first morning (21/8/22). No staff in the dining room behind the food counters. Food was already cooked and stacked up with so many flies around and landing on the food. The fried eggs were cooked however long in advance and I know that we are in Spain, but the place is being advertised through tui and we feel that they just do not cater for English tourists. No English labels on any of the food which at breakfast is fine, but when it came to dinner we had absolutely no idea what we were looking at. We are a family that love our food and can always manage to find something to eat whilst abroad. There were just 8 hot food trays - 4 of them being plain pasta, rice, hot dogs and rolls. The rest was salad, cheese and desert. We did not enjoy any of it so we have decided to go out for dinner for the rest of our trip and have bought breakfast supplies for our rooms (we have 2 premium villas here). The amount of flies that we’re landing on our food as we were eating it was horrendous. I have never experienced anything like it before. Theme park is fantastic, yes a little dated but it’s huge and lots for all ages. The water park however, is very grubby and dirty. The water is murky and has a very strong chemical smell. If you wish to have a livelier pool environment, you can use the pool over the road at the theme park (by the restaurant). This is great for kids but there is not much English going on over there but it really doesn’t effect you if you are just going to use the pool. Kids club may be a bit different but we haven’t used it for obvious reasons. This pool they call the ‘spa’ pool and it doesn’t feel the cleanest either but it is more exciting for the children. There are signs to say that sunbeds over at Iberia park spa pool, but I have been assured by staff at the reception of the village that we get 2 per room to use daily. The supermarket is 5 minutes away and they have a taxi rank outside which is good. The hotel will call a taxi for you which comes very quickly. Overall, this property is beautiful, clean and situated a distance from the very busy Benidorm town but only a 10 minute taxi ride away - around €13 each way so it’s very affordable. I would stay at this property again, but I would book a villa with a private pool as the main pools do no open until 10am and I would go room only. Only massive let down is the food and if I had known in advance then I would have picked room only and been much happier.

The hotel and grounds are immaculate and beautifully presented! We stayed in B422 overlooking the theme park and although people will say the view of the sea is better, for our kids, opening the window and seeing the rides every morning was a dream for them! We had breakfast included and there was an abundance of choice!! From full cooked to continental to cereal and fruit etc. only thing I’d add would be English style bacon and more choice of cereal for kids. The free Wi-Fi has great reach and is better at the big pool ( doesn’t reach the small pool as well) the large pool with sloping edges is great for the kids and we’re able to relax a bit more when the kids were playing round the pool. The Terra Mítica/Iberia park (joint park) are great and queue times mid august were amazing, never waited more than 20 mins to get on a ride, yes it’s a little outdated compared to something like Alton towers or Disneyland but still for kids it’s great. Mundomar and aqualandia(adjacent to each other) were also great, Mundomar only needs half a day max to get everything seen. Aqualandia also good but a rip off for lockers and rubber rings for the lazy river. Also got hurt on the red vertical slide( bruised back and bum from the force of the water at the bottom) so be careful, ride this slide at your peril! Rooms are clean and well presented but more like functional hotel room to sleep in, not much space to chill in, in future will probably upgrade to suite or a villa as it was just too small for a family of 4. Overall a fantastic hotel and are looking to go back next year for longer :)

Hotel location is good if you don't want to be in the midst of Benidorm. Though it is around EUR15 to get into Benidorm centre. Free entry to the parks as part of your stay which we used and a a great cost saving. Room was lovely, very clean and modern. Great view from the veranda. Very easy to get a poolside sunbed or cabana even at 10am - with few taken. This makes a relaxing start to your morning rather than having to get up very early to reserve sunbeds as found in other hotels. Food - breakfast is okay with a selection which would suit everyone. Dinner is not 4* and could be improved in the selection. Often, the food was cold and this need to be addressed urgently. We therefore went into town to eat. Staff were helpful and efficient at check in and check out.
