The Barceló Benidorm Beach, recommended for adults, sits in an enviable location close to both the beach and the old town, which reviewers frequently applaud. While opinions on noise levels vary, with some disturbances reported, the hotel's cleanliness receives consistent praise, as does the service, described as friendly and professional. However, perceived value is contentious, with criticisms of costly extras. The ambiance and amenities, including a rooftop pool and stylish furnishings, are well-received, though guests occasionally comment on room size and privacy issues.

This is our first experience of the Barcelo Beach Hotel in Spain. Prior to that, they stayed either at city hotels Barcelo or at beach hotels in Mexico. Of course, unlike Mexico, it doesn't have its own territory, its own beach, it's just a hotel on the first line with access to a public beach. But as far as I'm concerned, it's everywhere in Spain. The hotel has a swimming pool on the roof, but it is small and with cold water, we ended up not going there, swimming on the sea (the temperature is the same, but visually nicer).

Room (5/5): classic Barcelo, with large enough rooms, beautiful design, large comfortable bed, spacious and comfortable bathroom. Everything is very cozy and well done, quality renovation, the hotel is very new! The hotel is quiet, the noise insulation is normal, there is no noise from the street with the windows closed.

Location (4/5): on one of the two main beaches of Benidorm, literally 10 meters from the beach. Very comfortable. But there are two nuances: first, to drive to the hotel, you have to drive on pedestrian streets, it is very slow and inconvenient. Secondly, the navigator leads to the main entrance from the beach side, and the parking is not there, you have to drive away, do a big circle, and come up from the other side. Thirdly, the huge hotel with 250+ rooms has its own parking for only 10 cars, this is ridiculous!! In my opinion, they should either expand the parking lot or negotiate discounts for customers with neighboring parking lots. The first time in my practice is that the parking lot is full and you have to search the city for it yourself.

Food (5/5): despite the fact that this hotel formally counts as a 4*, but its level is well within 5 stars! And when compared to the 4* Occidental hotels we stayed in on this trip, the difference is significant! Breakfast here is much more varied and delicious, there is everything you need, from quality hamon, to guacamole and freshly squeezed juices. Dinner is varied, with a choice of dishes almost like the top 5* Barcelo in Mexico, everything really enjoyed! Out of wishes - at dinner you could at least offer the usual tap water, as in some hotels we met, to put a water machine, and the rest of the drinks for money...

Service (5/5): very friendly and customer-oriented staff. When it turned out there were no spaces in their underground parking lot, the employee helped me drive to the parking lot, specifically choosing the cheaper one. As a member of the Barcelo Unique loyalty program, I was given a free upgrade to the sea view room, and a welcome champagne with candy and cookies in the room. Very nice!

We just celebrated our anniversary at the Barceló Hotel and had a wonderful experience! Thank you for making it special.

The check-in process was seamless, and our room, 721, on the top floor to the back of the hotel was fantastic. It had a large balcony with two sunbeds, a sofa, table and chairs, and an outdoor airer. Although there is construction work at the back, the noise was not noticeable with the patio doors closed.

The room was very well-equipped, with a separate toilet, plenty of wardrobe space, and a mini-fridge for personal items. There was a safe at no extra charge, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Thoughtful amenities like a razor kit, toothbrush kit, and cotton pads were provided, and there was always hot water for showers.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of hot and cold options. The rooftop bar/pool area, which opens at 10 AM, was a great spot and prevented early towel reservations by guests. Beer was reasonably priced at €4.50, though spirits were a bit expensive at €11. The pool was at a nice temperature, and the views were amazing.

The hotel’s location is ideal; a right turn takes you to the charming old town, while a left turn leads to the newer area. As guests in our 40s, we much preferred the old town.

Thank you, Barceló, for making our anniversary so special!

Great hotel on the edge of the old town - great location literally across a quiet road to the beach. The hotel staff were all very friendly and chatty. The bedroom although a little small with a lateral view balcony (facing a wall), however we knew this before arriving and for the amount of time spent in the room it wasn't a problem. The shower was powerful with hot water, separate toilet and good set up with the wash basin. The towels were of good quality and changed daily it you wanted to change them.
The whole hotel was clean with staff working day/night to keep up the cleanliness.

The restaurant offered a buffet breakfast and dinner with more than enough choice (sometimes too much choice). I don't eat a cooked breakfast very often however the quality of the food was excellent and not at all greasy/fatty. The choices for dinner again were excellent, if you couldn't find something you liked I would be surprised.
Both at breakfast & dinner there were chefs present to freshly cook the specials of the day.
The roof top pool & terrace were nice, however we did find the tiled flooring to be loose and maybe slippery when it was wet. During our time there the pool was closed for maintenance which was a shame, however with the beach (clean) on the doorstep this wasn't a problem.

We would definitely use this change of hotel again.

Dear Linda, We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the loose tiles on our rooftop terrace and the temporary closure of the pool for maintenance. We understand how these aspects can impact the enjoyment of our amenities. We are pleased that you enjoyed the powerful shower, the quality of our towels, and the overall cleanliness of our hotel. Our staff takes great pride in maintaining a welcoming and spotless environment for our guests. Additionally, we are delighted that the variety and quality of food at our buffet breakfast and dinner met your expectations, and that the presence of our chefs added to your dining experience. Finally, it is wonderful to hear that our hotel's location served you well, being conveniently situated on the edge of the old town and just across from the tranquil beach. The friendliness and warmth of our staff are something we are very proud of, and we are glad they made a positive impression during your stay. We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back on future occasions. Best regards, Pedro Ortiz Guest Experience Specialist Barceló Benidorm Beach

Firstly let me state this isn’t criticism but feedback. We watched with interest when this hotel was being refurbished as we stayed several times under the old name of Selomar. The location is perfect. We had a 5th floor side sea view room and the view was lovely the whole of the levante beach. The bed was huge and so comfortable we slept like logs. There’s reasonable wardrobe space and open shelves all perfectly adequate. The shower is good hot and strong pressure - feedback maybe some kind of shelf or caddy as nowhere to put toiletries . Toilet fine. Open ish plan bathroom ok it seems to be the norm these days no idea why but we managed. Feedback- put a mirror in the bedroom the only place for hair and makeup is standing in the limited bathroom space. So ladies bring a mirror with you. The rooms are as they used to be in terms of size so structurally nothing has been done but they are tasteful and there’s plenty of sockets usb points and good lighting. The roof pool is lovely pool exactly same size as it always was basically a plunge pool. Good to see many more loungers have been added since it opened in October, we called in to have a look and at the time it was under capacity but sunbeds few and far between. Feedback- The tiles need grouting though big gaps everywhere . Also when you’re at the pool the only facilities are 2 flights down on the 7th floor! Don’t know how people in wheel chairs manage there maybe a lift somewhere ? The breakfast is possibly the best hotel brekky in Benidorm we’ve experienced. The staff all seem lovely and we enjoyed the bar and terrace area. It’s lovely and we would definitely come again it would get 5 stars with those little tweaks from me !

We loved our stay at the hotel.
When we made the Reservation calling the hotel Jefrey answered us and very kindly gave us many details of the hotel and noted our request to have a room with good sea views, with bathrobes and slippers as we chose this hotel in Benidorm to celebrate our anniversary.
Upon arriving at the hotel we were attended by Anastasia who throughout the stay has been super friendly and friendly and when we entered the room we loved it, we awaited a chocolate dessert with cava, bathrobes and slippers and sea views that leave you crazy.
About the bed and very comfortable pillows and the tub tap with a good jet of super relaxing water.
Breakfast and dinner buffet one pass, many starters and seconds at dinner, all very good quality and every day different, very professional and pleasant cooks especially Elena and the cook of the griddle at dinners.
Noteworthy is a Moroccan almond lamb tajin that like many other dishes was excellent, my wife is a cook and I congratulate the chef on his tajin.
Also the waiters have great professionalism when performing their work always friendly and attentive.
The terrace upstairs also super cool, we had a very well prepared cocktail looking out to sea.
We just want to comment that the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was a bit lazy, it's just our review if it can help improve.
The truth is that the hotel has a good value for money, we would like it to continue like this, we really like to travel and it is difficult to find a hotel with these amenities value for money in Spain.
Many thanks to all the team at Barceló Benidorm Beach and especially Pedro Ortiz for the details in our room.
We hope to be back very soon,

Joaquin and Farah.

We have recently had a 9 night holiday at “Benidorm Beach”, it was our first time in the resort and we were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay.
We specifically booked this hotel because of its location right on the beach and the close proximity to the old town. There are lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance and wandering home in the early hours we always felt safe. It’s worth noting that the transfer buses cannot drop you off at the hotel, you can only get as far as the Madeira Centre. It’s then a ten minute walk to the hotel.
The rooms are lovely, newly refurbished in a modern and contemporary style. The beds are very comfortable and with lovely duvet and soft squishy pillows. Lighting is really good especially if you like to read. The balcony was a nice size and although our room (719) looked out onto a brick wall we had an oblique sea view and it was nice to leave our doors open at night and listen to the sound of the waves.
Rooms have tea making facilities, a mini fridge, a safe for your valuables, lovely quality toiletries and huge soft fluffy bath sheets.
We were staying on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast buffet was excellent. There was such a lot to choose from and the quality was really good.
We wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel again and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone reading this review.

Stayed for 3 nights with 7 friends for my 50th. Had a lovely stay here and we all said it was the ideal hotel in a great location.

Breakfast was great, staff nice. Especially the two members who brought over my cake (cake paid for by my friends via the hotel - cake tasted amazing!!!) he wore a party hat my friend had given him with my face on, it was a cute gesture, they were really nice.

Most of the receptionists were nice apart from one who was pretty abrupt when I wanted to order a taxi. On the whole though they were all fine.

Nice decor throughout.

It was perfect for our stay. Very comfy mattress l, I was sharing with a friend and we couldn’t separate the mattress/bed although the bed was so big it actually ended up not being a problem.

They have nice shower gel and body lotion and they also supply beach towels. The shower was nice & powerful.

You can hire sunbeds and parasols via reception for €20 a day,one receptionist said you get a bag with some water in and a beach towel but we didn’t get a bag or water when we did hire the loungers and I didn’t question it either so not sure if we missed out on that or not.

I am quite interested to know about the tiles on the roof top terrace though, are they meant to be left ungrouted or not as they move a bit and you can lift them up?! Not a problem as such just curious.

I would stay here again and would recommend it. To make it extra special and to go above and beyond it would’ve been lovely if they would’ve recognised the special occasion that it was for me (50th) but reception didn’t make a note or leave anything in my room as I have seen had been done for some other guests but I’ll get over it. I had a great holiday.

Dear Guest, We appreciate that you took the time to share your experience with us. We're thrilled to hear that your stay with us was enjoyable and met your expectations. We regret that not all interactions with our reception staff were as pleasant as expected, and the special occasion of your 50th birthday was not acknowledged in the manner you deserved. We apologize for any oversight and will ensure our team is more attentive to such important details in the future. We're particularly pleased that you enjoyed our sumptuous breakfast offerings and the congenial service provided by our team, especially the memorable gesture involving your birthday cake. Our aim is always to create delightful moments for our guests. It's also gratifying to know that our decor and the comfortable bedding made a positive impression, contributing to your overall experience at our hotel. Nonetheless, it's wonderful to hear that you found our shower amenities and the powerful shower to your liking, enhancing your relaxation during your stay. The location of our hotel is indeed a highlight, and we're delighted that it served as the ideal base for your Benidorm visit. We appreciate your feedback on the sunbeds and will look into the matter of the beach bag and water to ensure our guests receive all the amenities promised. We are hoping to welcome you back in the future. All the best. Marta Pardo Guest Experience Specialist Barceló Benidorm Beach

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but when you consider the money we paid in comparison to other hotels close by that we have previously stayed at, the Barceló doesn’t merit a high score.
The positives were the location was superb snd the rooms and beds were very comfortable, but there were a number of niggles that shouldn’t have happened.
We had a severe leak from the shower one morning caused by what appeared to be a shower door design fault, and of the 3 other couples we went with another couple had the exact same problem.
We stayed on the fifth floor and every morning there was an unpleasant sewage smell along the entire corridor, clearing through the day but coming back again each morning.
Our rooms weren’t cleaned until very late for most of the days we stayed, and one of the days our room clean was missed entirely. (Not pleasant coming back to an unmade room when you’ve been out, especially when you’ve used up all the towels to mop up a leak from shower).
Final moan was the cooked breakfast. There is an extensive range of foods, but if you wanted a cooked breakfast there was a small buffet area to go to and the food was cold.
As I said, we enjoyed our stay, but too many minor issues would prevent us from wanting to come back.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are disheartened to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay with us. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the shower in your room, and we understand how disturbances such as an unpleasant odor can affect the quality of your stay. We take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service, so we truly regret that we missed the mark in ensuring your room was promptly and thoroughly cleaned each day. Additionally, we apologize that the breakfast selections did not meet your expectations in terms of temperature. We are pleased, however, that you found the rooms and beds to be very comfortable. Our guests often tell us how much they appreciate the restful sleep and relaxation our accommodations provide, and it is always rewarding to hear that this was a highlight of your experience. Nonetheless, we are delighted that you enjoyed our prime location, with its easy access to the historic center and beautiful golden beaches that Benidorm has to offer. We were at the hotel for three days during Easter. The service from the reservation center was excellent, with proposals, advice... good, very good. The hotel is located very centrally, with the old town and the beach literally next door, and the shops and leisure area also very close. The reception was very attentive, and always with a smile, the room was spotless, with everything in its place and it was impossible to find a speck of dust. When you returned to the room, it was as if you were entering the room again for the first time, everything was impeccable. The breakfast is simply exceptional, with a very generous variety and very attentive staff, like at reception, always with a smile and willing to help you find where the coffee maker is, the croissants...
Without a doubt we will repeat, we were only able to have a few days of vacation and the weather was not very good, but the hotel undoubtedly helped to make our stay more pleasant. We would fully recommend it.

It's just a five minute walk to the hotel, too shorter distance to get a cab! Make your way to the sea front as you walk round the corner from being dropped off and you will see the hotel to your right. Hope that helps.
