I really can't understand the poor reviews of this hotel. Our experience of it was way above my expectations. Yes, it's fair to say it's probably more like a very good three star hotel
rather than four, but for the price we've just paid, it was excellent value.
Our room (410) was perfectly well decorated in beige and creams and spotlessly clean with sleek floor and bathroom tiles. A modern easy chair and a bright blue desk chair added pops of colour. There was a reasonable sized fridge, plenty of wardrobe space and the shower was so hot and high pressured we used it on half-setting. The free WiFi worked perfectly on multiple devices.
All the staff we encountered were friendly, cheery and helpful.
Breakfast was included in our rate and we were very happy with the offering - lots of hot and cold choices which varied each day.
Of course, the hotel's very best feature is its location a few steps from the beach, bars, a supermarket and a bus stop. A short walk up the hill takes you into the commercial heart and old town of Calpe.
We will definitely stay here again.

Overall, almost everything about this hotel was well up to our expectations. The highlights are its amazing location, right next to the beach and excellent service from the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I concur with other reviews that, for the most part it feels more like a good 3 star hotel rather than a 4 star. The rooms were more than adequate but a little tired. However, the roof bar, terrace and pool was excellent. I’m not sure that it was great value however at €401 for 4 nights, an additional €60 to upgrade to a sea view (money well spent and I would strongly recommend) and €40 for parking which I feel should have been included for free. The only bad thing was breakfast, which was fairly low quality despite a wide selection and, although included in our room rate was charged at €12 each per day if paying separately. Much better to go to a nearby cafe on the seafront instead! Overall, we would stay here again, but would be tempted to research better alternatives.

We stayed in a superior room with terrace and sea view, the room didn't feel like a 4 star, felt more like a 3 star, same with the corridors, the rest of the hotel was definitely 4 star, roof top pool and bar were excellent, excellent location, friendly staff, very clean. We didn't try the food there so can't comment on that, there's loads of lovely restaurants within 5 minutes walk, less than a minute to the beach. The hotel car park was 11euros a night, which to me is very expensive and should be included in the stay, especially for a 4 star hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel with perhaps the best location in Calpe, right on the beach but a minute’s walk from great bars and restaurants in the town. They have a fabulous rooftop bar and pool. We had a room facing the street which was very pleasant but if you can afford it the views are magnificent from the sea facing rooms.
I would particularly like to mention the female member of staff who was on reception Tuesday night. My husband took ill unexpectedly and she was so helpful and calm in giving me advice about the various medical options (we ended up in A&E) and calling us a taxi. I am very grateful indeed. We will certainly be back. I can’t recommend the hotel highly enough!

This was the worst experience I ever had in a hotel. The staff is rude and there is no service at all. It started at check in when Francisco did not explain us anything at all. When we entered the room we found out that we didn't get the room with view that we asked for, when we asked for it they said that we booked a standard room and they have city view, well city view means that you can see the neighbors. Then the next morning, in Spain you cannot drink water from the tap so you expect a bottle of water in the room but this was nowhere to be found. When we called to ask for this the receptionist mentioned that they don't have this service, if you want to order a bottle you will have to pay a roomservice charge of 20 euro! 20 euro to bring us a bottle of water!!!! It is a joke! We left the room a little later than check out time, the receptionist called us and she was really really rude. Her words where: la hora de salida está a las 12 necesitas que bajar ya! Never ever before I have experienced something like this. I would not recommend the hotel at all!

I am writing this complaint regards our overnight stay, which was appalling I’d first like to state how it wasn’t clear that pets are allowed. You find out when you’ve booked the hotel. I have severe allergies & therefore I’m hypersensitive to any animal odour/hair. Had I have known this I wouldn’t of stayed, I emailed prior as this is an important factor when I’m on vacation, I had no response. When I spoke with the reception, they were not interested. We went to the room where it was clear pets had been in the room, I had no sleep my chest was tight I couldn’t breathe, my eyes were swollen, my skin came out in a rash & I was extremely uncomfortable. The pool area was shocking, the water was discoloured & very dirty due to sand & body parts, it was disgusting, there were no covid restrictions in place and the beds were all so close & the space between guests was not adhered to, it was so packed, we couldn’t stay, nor did we want to. The breakfast system was also very poor & not implemented, tables not clean & the food was inedible, I’ve never gone to a hotel where there was nothing to eat, usually the fruit is ok not on this occasion it was dry & old. The bread was hard. The waffles were hard and the bacon was barely cooked. The stay was very disappointing and I will not be returning.

We are just coming to the nd of a 15 day stay in this wonderful Hotel.
From the moment we arrived the treatment has been brilliant. The staff are happy to help at all times from the manager to the cleaners, everyone gives a great service.
The rooms are cleaned every day and the sheets and towels are changed every three days.
The International buffet breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice and some variations each day. There are several hot drink machines situated around the dining room with a large choice of drinks. You can even have an omelette made to order while you wait!
As people leave, the staff clear the tables as well as assisting with any queries.
The bar has a great choice of drinks and the bar staff are helpful and welcoming.
There is an International mix of people staying at the Hotel and everyone is made to feel welcome and catered for.
The Hotel is situated very close to the beach and the lovely town of Calpe which has a terrific mix of bars and restaurants. The locals are very friendly and accustomed to serving a wide mix of customers. You will hear languages from all over the world as you wander though the streets and along the long wide picturesque promenade.
There are two pools at the Hotel, one on the roof along side a charming cafe with breath taking views and one situated in the inner courtyard of the hotel.
For a reasonable extra charge you can have a sea view room with a balcony or terrace and enjoy the view of the Peńon de Ifach.
We would recomnend this hotel to anyone wanting to soak up the warm atmosphere of this hotel and the local town.

Dear Guest, Thank you for this great review. It is heartwarming to hear that you found our staff across all departments to be consistently helpful and attentive, from the management to our diligent cleaning team. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness, and it is gratifying to know these efforts have not gone unnoticed. The diverse options and quality of our international buffet breakfast are designed to offer a delightful start to the day, and we are pleased you enjoyed the variety and the ability to have omelettes made to order. Our staff in the dining area are always eager to assist and ensure a comfortable dining experience for all our guests. We are also delighted to know that the selection of drinks at our bar met your expectations and that the service provided by our bar staff added to the enjoyment of your stay. The strategic location of Hotel Bahia Calpe, offering proximity to both the beach and the charming town of Calpe, is something we are very proud of, and we're glad you appreciated it as well. Furthermore, it’s wonderful to learn that our pool areas, including the rooftop with its stunning views, provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The option to upgrade to a sea view room is indeed a favorite among our guests, and we're thrilled you were able to experience the breathtaking views of the Peñón de Ifach. Thank you for recommending us; it is the highest compliment we can receive. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards, Manager Hotel Bahía Calpe By Pierre & Vacances

Anti-British and terrible service!

We spent 4 nights in beautiful Calpé myself mum and sister.
The first disappointment with this hotel was how deceiving the photos are online. The pool on the rooftop is tiny, about 2m sq. the other pool on offer is cramped in an inner courtyard of the hotel with zero views except of the hotel walls and the neighbouring alleyway. We didn’t spend a single day around either. For a hotel this size it’s unbelievable that tiny rooftop pool is so miniature. No parasols to sit under either.
Secondly, we booked B&B for our stay. Never seen such chaos! Not enough tables for all the guests and no staff clearing them, food scraps all over the floor, absolute state. Food was exactly the same breakfast every day.
Service was appalling. We had a midnight return flight so asked 2 days before departure for a late check out room, was told this would need to be booked on the day of check out but rest assured we would get it no problem. On the day go to pay 50euros for this, to keep the room until 6pm. Was told no, the hotel is too full. Eventually they agreed after I demanded to speak to the manager and he was not apologetic or polite about it either.
Later in the day after enjoying our last day at the beach we asked for fresh towels to shower with before we left (not changed for 3 days) again was refused the basic courtesy of a towel. We again had the awkwardness of needing to justify having a towel to wash.
The staff began saying the reason why they wouldn’t give them to us was because “you would not get them in England hotels” which is a rude assumption anyway. We saw them give service with a smile to all Spanish guests and we didn’t get a single friendly face.
Don’t recommend this hotel at all, the one star I have given is purely for the location which was incredible. We loved Calpé.

We have just returned from a 1 week stay in this hotel. No way is it a 4 star. The staff are very blunt, bordering rude. There are very few English customers and the staff don't seem to be very helpful towards us. There is no courtesy room if you are leaving late, we were told there is a shower by the pool which you can use!

The restaurant is very under staffed, leading to people having to clear their own table to eat breakfast. We were half board, having the breakfast and lunch option. The food is very bland, repetative and cold. No water, coffee etc at lunch. The food was the same every day.

Whilst the hotel is clean, although phone and headboard had a layer of dust on them, it is very tired and is in urgent need of updating. It is ideally situated for the beach, restaurants, bars etc but that is the only good thing I could say about it.

Also dogs are allowed in the hotel. 2 rooms down from us there were 2 dogs which barked constantly when they were left on their own, which obviously was very annoying. This is not mentioned anywhere on Jet 2 holidays who we booked with.

Overall it is not a 4 star hotel, more 2/3 at the moment.

This hotel is in a great location. We paid extra for the sea view which is worth it, except for three nights the guy next to us sat on the balcony and smoked a terrible smelling cigar. When I explained we were not happy with the odour he just said it's legal to smoke on the balcony. The hotel staff seemed uninterested in helping. The breakfast was just ok, we ate breakfast out of the hotel after two tries at it. Overall, the staff were pleasant, but the hotel needs a serious update. The bars and roof top pool were not open as advertised and closed early with no explanation. I asked for towels for teh hotel pool and were told we had to buy our own and could not use the towels from the rooms.

We had two rooms together as our adult daughter stayed as well. We wanted a special treat as it was two of our birthday's but we were VERY disappointed. Next trip to Calpe, we'll be back in the family apartment and do our own cleaning and cooking.
