Inaugurated back in 1913, the building of One Shot Palacio Reina Victoria 04 was the first hotel in the city and also its most emblematic. With a classical style and built in the early Twentieth century by local architect Luis Ferreres Soler, the hotel was fully renovated in 2016 following the guidelines of the project carried out by the Alfaro-Manrique architecture firm, using natural materials (wood, iron or ceramic) and reinterpreting its historical character in an elegant and modern way. Celebrities such as Ernest Hemingway, Jacinto Benavente, Federico García Lorca and Robert Capa stayed, wrote or created new projects at the hotel. Carrer de les Barques is a street which was part of an old fishing neighbourhood inhabited by fishermen and shipbuilders who built small boats. Today, it is one of Valencia’s most central and elegant streets, home to emblematic buildings such as Hotel One Shot Reina Victoria (the first hotel in the city), the Main Theatre (Teatro Principal) and the Bank of Valencia building. The leisure activities you can enjoy in the area are endless thanks to the wide range of restaurants, bars, shops and shopping centres you can find here. From Hotel One Shot Palacio Reina Victoria 04 you can walk to the Cathedral, Central Market, the Rialto Theatre, City Hall, the Main Theatre (Teatro Principal), the Carmen district and the Silk Exchange, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in just a few minutes. The City of Arts and Sciences is under 2 miles away. Valencia Airport is located just 6 miles away and you can get there in just 20 minutes by metro from the Xàtiva or Colón stations, located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Joaquín Sorolla AVE train station is 1.2 miles away and you can get there from the hotel by bus (bus #27 stop is a 5-minute walk away).

We arrived during the Three Kings holiday celebration and the location of the hotel was perfectly situated near the Nord Train Station/Bull Stadium (about 3 short blocks away) and down the block from the Plaza of Ayuntamiento. Valencia's siteseeing locations were all within 10 min walk from the hotel. We did take the taxi to the aquarium/museums of arts and sciences and cost about 6 euros for 2 people. The room was spacious for us and bathroom had a large shower. The staff were super friendly throughout our stay and always so helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

Just about to board our plane to Gatwick from Valencia and wanted to take a moment to post a review for this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and can’t fault the hotel. Excellent location just off the square, this weekend was the start of the fire festival and we had fantastic views of the fireworks from our balcony.
Room was spacious and clean, huge super king bed. We had breakfast one morning at the hotel which has tasty and there was a variety to choose from. There was a bar which is currently closed which is a shame as beautiful decor.
Johnathan who worked on reception was very attentive and recommend and made reservations for dinner for us. A great find and would definitely recommend to others. Anna

You would expect that with less visitors the service and willingness to make a stay right would be the highest? You want your customers back?

But it all started with the fact that when I arrived in my room the minibar was empty, there was no roomservice and breakfast was also suspended because of Covid19. I understand that there are Covid19 measures, no problem. But inform the guest beforehand! And why an empty minibar because of Covid19??

I was assigned a room and went to my room and unpacked and then the frontdesk called that I had the wrong room. OK nice! Packing again and change the room.

As a businesstraveller I like to have some sounds and movementin my room so I have always the TV on. So thats why I carry an android TV with me so I can watch and play my own content. But the brand new and modern philips TV in this room is in a "design" black box with glass in front of it? Why???? 1. its difficult to watch TV and 2. you cant watch TV from the sitting corner! So I asked the front desk if they could make USB, HDMI or streaming available (all available on the TV but blocked). But that was a NO. Not possible. Ok then use the TV as it is. But only 2 english channels, Bloomberg and another one. Both rubbish! Rest all spanish!
Yes I was offered an upgrade but I already had a suite and the TV in the other room was the same, so it isn't a solution for the problem. And im not after an upgrade, I want a functional room.

Ok then the bathroom. 2 days too hot water, no cold water at all. (37 degrees and hotter) and when I complained the 3rd day only cold water. So please get this sorted! (my colleague had the same!)
The shower need to be decalcified, at least 70% of the nozzles in the rainshower are blocked.
It is so annoying if the water doesnt flow to the drain but to the rest of the shower. Again nice design but not functional!

Apparently in this hotel design and how it looks is much more important than functionality and if things make a stay comfortable.
I also realise that tourists and business travellers have different expectations. But the issues I just described are very easy to adjust, no big investments and will make everyone happy. (make a 5 mm hole in the TV box and put an HDMI cable through it or instead of an expensive black box with glass put the TV on an arm so you can watch TV from the sitting corner.)
And why isn't the standard question "how was your stay?"not included in the ladies vocabulary when I checked out?

Last request: when someone designs a hotelroom then please let them stay in that room for a couple of nights so they experience their own design.
Next week I need to be in Valencia again and I didnt have a hotelroom yet, but I didnt book this hotel.

I really like the One Shot brand - having stayed at their Seville property too, the rooms are clean, well designed and refreshingly modern. This hotel has a perfect location in the heart of Valencia, is an historic building, and the rooms are big. You can walk everywhere you need to and there are so many cafes and restaurants nearby.

A few things that impacted my stay:
- I actually booked their Mercat 09 property but was moved here because that isn’t open yet; given COVID that seems understandable and they did upgrade me. The only downside is that this property has no pool whereas that one did
- I also had to move room early on, when my ceiling started dripping water. It was dealt with quickly, but again not ideal

A bugbear was the bathroom. In the second room, despite being an Executive room, it was tiny. This meant every time you used it, you’d have to squeeze past the door to get in and use the sink. As someone who constantly goes between my room and the bathroom when getting ready, this felt like a pain, and unnecessary when the room itself was massive!

I would happily stay at a One Shot again, and just ask for a room with a bigger bathroom, and maybe try the Mercat 09 if I was there in the heat of summer.

My wife enjoyed our overnight stay while visiting Valencia in February of 2020. The staff was very courteous and helpful with holding our bags (we arrived early), checking us in, and holding our bags at checkout so we could see the city before our train departed. We purchased the breakfast, which was a great selection pleasantly served from their restaurant. Our room was also great, on the top floor with a balcony view of the city. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel!

We easily passed this hotel on the street a few times before we found it, but once we did, it was great! Small and dark lobby, but the rooms were large, bright and beautiful. We had a great view of Valencia and the location is perfect for all of the major sites, restaurants and bars. Overall, a good find!

Disappointing stay and not good value for money.

The only positive about this hotel is the building and where it is located. It was our first visit to Valencia and after a day exploring there are also many more boutique hotels in the same area worth considering which we will do next time as I certainly won't be staying here again when we next visit Valencia.

1) Archaic check in process...this must be the slowest check in we have ever experienced. We arrived at 2pm and had to wait over an hour in line. Why does this process take around 20 minutes? It should take seconds if guests already have a reservation.

2) The lady who worked front of house in the afternoon (13th August) is extremely rude and arrogant. I approached her in the bar and asked if I could order some wine, she advised there wasn't any wine and the bar wasn't open at all during our staff, very odd but OK no problem...please could you provide me with some wine glasses and some ice instead - far too much trouble, probably the rudest and most obnoxious person I've had the pleasure of meeting. I'm sorry but what 4 star hotel with a 'bar' cannot provide guests with wine glasses and ice...a joke given it was £150 per night.

3) We stayed in the 'Grand Suite' on the 3rd floor with a terrace. Let me tell you it isn't a Suite and it isn't Grande at all. It was a large average hotel room at best and the terrace was filthy.

4) The rooms are not functional at all. The bathroom flooded every time you used the shower, which was also extremely poor. There is a double sink but the bathroom is so small you could only use the sink furthest to the wall if you stood on the toilet?

5) The air con is old and needs updating, along with the furniture which looked tired and worn.

If you're considering this hotel I'd strongly recommend staying away and finding somewhere else which will be much better value. I'd have no real complaints if we paid £50 a night but not £150.

An absolute shambles.

My boyfriend and I stayed here just as an overnight to break up our trip to Barcelona. This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location. The staff at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. The room was well decorated and comfortable, and even though our room was on the second floor, it was quiet. They also have bathrooms available on Floor E so that you can access a toilet even if you'r unable to check-in to your room upon arrival. We didn't dine in the restaurant (also on Floor E) but it was fabulously decorated. I would come back to this hotel if I were to return to Valencia. On a side note, a taxi driver will likely know this only as the 'Hotel Reina Victoria' -- our driver seemed confused when we told him at first that we wanted to go to the One Shot Palacio Reina Victoria.

Hi Megan! The closest railway stations are Valencia Nord and Valencia Joaquin Sorolla. Then you have Metro stations (urban subway network) near the hotel. Please be aware the two stations you mentioned are not in the city of Valencia, but in other towns with similar name. Thanks and please do not hesitate to contact us if further information is required. One Shot Team

Hi wagr, thanks for your question. As the previous comments said there is no parking onsite due to the historic nature of the building. There are some public parkings in the area, if you use the one located at ABC Park (21, Roger de Lauria St.) you will be able to pay it (full day charge 24€) at the Hotel. Please be aware that some streets of the city centre, where the Hotel is located, become pedestrian on Sundays, bank holidays and during Fallas period. Thanks and we look forward to welcome you at One Shot Hotels.
