I gave this hotel a 4 star review last year when we stayed as it was looking a little tired and shabby in certain places, especially in the particular room in which we stayed.
We went over with some friends last month and the room we had was a large corner room and was very nice inside.
The staff were as friendly and polite as always. Particular mentions go to Adrian who was our barman and kept us furnished with everything we needed for a couple of evenings. Cristian who was the restaurant manager was also superb. I am Spanish and like fresh cheese (Burgos style) with my breakfast as i can't get it here in the UK. He got some sent in especially, which i thought was a lovely gesture.
This hotel is perfectly placed for those wishing to stay at a mid point between the city centre and the beach.

Unfortunately, the cleaning of the hotel is something to desire of…after so many months of shut down and very strict hygiene regulations, one is expecting to see everything spotless! For example: the windows of the elevators haven’t see a cleaning in a while, spider webs in the hallway, dirty light switches etc. Also it gave us the impression of lack of interest in the overall maintenance of the business (old signs, cheap plastic cups in the rooms, towels that have seen “a lot of action” etc), so I wonder if the Melia network knows about the situation (they have quite high standards) since the prices are as at any other 5 stars hotel?!
Just as other clients commented, the isolation is very bad, you can hear perfectly the normal conversation of the next door clients.
Parking can be an issue! (be advised that around the hotel are “parking gorillas” that claim money to “watch” you vehicle, so you have no other option but to pay the €14 /night charged by hotel) I know is not the responsibility of the hotel, but you have been warned!

On the positive note, the staff is very helpful and willing to please the clientele under the given situation, but they can only do so much!
The location is the main reason to choose it: the Oceanografic & Ciudad de Arte is 5 minutes away on foot, the beach/port is 20 minutes away and large shopping mall is around the corner; also you have public transportation at hand and many electric vehicles are available to rent via apps (bikes, scooters etc)

We were delighted with our choice of hotel. It is so well run that the entire stay was very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and professional. We must give special thanks to Alex for all his help pre-arrival and while we were there. They do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant one. We had rooms on the 8th floor and they were spacious and well laid out. We had a fridge and kettle which made life easy. The bathroom was large and the shower was great. The aircon was easy to manage and vital in the heat. The rooms were spotless on entry and the cleaning staff were very diligent.

As for the rest of the hotel, the pool area was lovely. It's not a big pool but it was great to cool down on the hot days. There are plenty of loungers and the bar service is really good. We only did breakfast at the hotel on the first morning as we like to get out and about to explore. It was buffet style with something for everyone. The only real negative was the elevators and that's due to covid precautions. It could take a couple of attempts to get an elevator.

The location is really good. The City of Arts and Science is easy walking distance. The 19 bus takes you to the beach in one direction and the city centre in the other. There are two shopping centres within a 2 minute walks and loads of restaurants and cafes nearby. Overall, we loved it and would happily stay again.

Maryna, in particular, was extraordinarily helpful and went over and above to make my stay enjoyable. On the other hand, the hotel is located across from a shopping mall, which is great, the museum of arts and aquarium are 10 minutes away on foot, which is also ideal, and there is a park across the street, which I enjoyed.

Now the hotel rooms are basic, we had troubles with hot water for which we were instructed to leave the tap running for 5 minutes, which was strange, and the lights in our room went out unexpectedly on multiple occasions due to a fuse box issue that was quickly resolved.

Regarding the breakfast, we stayed three nights, and on each of the three days, the eggs were cold. The breakfast is mediocre, lacks variety, and is repetitive.

Overall, the hotel's location is wonderful, and the front desk agent, Maryna, made my stay worthwhile; she was incredibly accommodating and skilled at displaying the city map, and she had extensive knowledge of the area, which I believe is a tremendous asset. Thank you for being the hotel's visible face.

The hotel should improve its breakfast selections and, for the love of God, keep the food warm.

Dear abis990, first of all, we want to thank you for highlighting the treatment received by our colleague Maryna and our privileged location next to the City of Arts and Sciences and the large leisure area next to the hotel. We regret what happened with the temperature of the water and the light. Indicate that we have transmitted it to our Head of Technical Services so that he can review it and prevent it from happening again. Regarding his comment about the breakfasts, let him know that we have reviewed the variety and processes in the service and we have improved. We hope in a next occasion you can enjoy our changes. It will be a pleasure to welcome you back among us. Your faithfully, Yolanda Moreno - Guest Experience

We have just returned from our stay and to be honest I have to say it was a hotel from hell.
The receptionist Cielia and Patricia very rude.
We have arrived around 11 at night and was trying to upgrade our room.
When I told her that we are tired she also told me I am tired too, well this is your job not my problem.
Then she started lying to us about speaking to her manager and when I have asked her manager name she said she is nit here and she said I was calling her. When I asked her name she said because she didn’t answer I have decided for myself.
We have paid and got another room on top of the family room and the room they gave us was awful so noisy and next to the road.
In the morning I have spoken to the manager and she was trying to help so gave us a free late check out which I believe with the money we have paid it wasn’t really free but she was trying to apologise.
Breakfast was very simple and nothing special, we have also ordered pizza which wasn’t cut either and there was no cutlery provided.
Didn’t they think how we are suppose to eat them?
No kettle was provided in the room, very expensive for what you get.
You can find much better places to stay, the hotel is very old and aged too.

Dear Azadehn, First of all, we would like to thank you for your time and for giving us your comments about your stay in Hotel Valencia Oceanic. We are deeply sorry for not having fulfilled your expectations. We take note of your comments to continue improving our services. We can assure that our staff is well trained in customer services. In fact, in all the reviews of the websites you can check that the most appreciated value of Hotel Valencia Oceanic is our staff. In reference to your booking, we would like to explain you that the reservation was made for a family room which has a capacity for two adults and two kids. In the bed bunks of these rooms it is not allowed to sleep children older than 11 years for security reasons, as it is clearly specified in the description of the rooms. We would like to inform you that when a guest books a family room and specifies the age, the website does not allow to book a family room if the children are older than 11 years and automatically offer two rooms. Mrs. Azadehn, your family was composed by two adults and two kids of 13 and 17 years old, for that reason at your arrival we kindly suggested to you to book a new room and we offered you the best price available. Regarding the breakfast, we have a buffet breakfast with more than 80 fresh daily products and we also offer vegetarian options and special foods for intolerant and allergens. We reiterate our apologies again and we hope you will give us a new opportunity. We remain at your entire disposal, Yolanda Moreno Guest Experience

Family hotel and a bit loud, messy and chaotic if you had no kids. Breakfast rushed and full, hard to keep distance and pool area so full and loud that did not even want to spend time there. Positive side it had friendly staff, free street side parking, and very good location next to the park and Science and Art museums. Our room on the top floor had great views and one of the largest balconies we have had. A good base for getting to know Valencia but not so great if you want to have some peace and quiet in the hotel.

This is such a shame as this could have been a five star review were it not for some shabbiness that is starting to appear in the rooms and public areas. That said, there are so many good things about this hotel, it just needs some money and TLC invested.

The staff are so friendly, polite and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. A special mention needs to go Maria Jose who works very hard at breakfast time and is only too happy to help.

The hotel has excellent bus connections into the city centre. We would certainly stay here again.

This is an outstanding hotel, opulent in many ways, and in a perfect location, walkable to to many sites in this amazing city of Arts and Sciences. The rooms offer lots of space, are well appointed, and tastefully decorated. Definitely first class.

Ou room had fast internet service, fridge, safe, small screen TV, closets with mirrored doors, a comfy desk space and good bedding.

The bathroom had great toiletries and lovely infloor heating. The shower head was hard to figure out (every hotel is different), and we had to be aware of a slippery tub. The clicker for the TV works on the new system of categories instead of channels, so we finally gave up on it. As well, the A/C fan was on high, and it seemed impossible to change the speed.

The hotel is very close to many of the city cultural venues, within sight of the new suspension bridge, a block from a multi-storey shopping mall (grocery store in the basement) and several pharmacies and cafes. Definitely perfect location!

I loved the location of the hotel. By taking the number 19 bus ( a few minutes walk from the hotel) you can get into the city or get the beach (Malvarosa). It is 5 minutes from oceanographic and science museum. The other side of the science museum you can get the bus 24 to El Palmar in the natural park of albufera.
The breakfast was substantial and suited every need. You have a wide choice of hot or cold meals, fruit and fruit juice, gorgeous bread, various meats and cheeses.
The bedroom was cleaned every day and provided with clean sheets and towels. We were on a low floor on the corner of the hotel. It could be noisy especially around 5:00 when bins are collected. Avoid rooms ending in 04. I did ask for a higher floor but nothing was available.
All the receptionists were very helpful and answered all questions we had.
We didn’t use the pool as it was always very busy and the beds were in the shade for most of the day.
