Our stay at the hotel San Lorenzo boutique hotel was 2 years in the making, because of covid we had to delay our stay 3 times and each time the hotel would accommodate the new dates hassle free. The hotel is situated down a predestined area so no traffic rumbling past. As the name suggests, boutique, meaning small. The reception is small and from there it a lift or stairs to the upper floors, the hotel is central to all the attractions, cafes, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was basic but clean and maintained to a very good level, our room overlooked the street and I can say there was very little noise. The room had every we needed including a large bath tub in the main bedroom and a shower in the bathroom. We had a maid every day who would come in and tidy, replace towels etc. The room also had a safe (free if charge) and a fridge, breakfast was next door in the hotel's cafe. Unfortunately this wasn't a great experience and I will leave it at that, all in all I was disappointed given the hotel is a 3 star. And we had a comfortable stay, I would stay here again. Staff were very helpful and polite

We stayed here as a family of 4 for 8 nights at the end of July. We checked in very late which was no problem, and the hotel had left some bottled water in the room for us which was very much appreciated travelling with 2 children. We had a large family room at the back of the hotel, overlooking a little courtyard. The room was spacious, clean and had plenty of storage. We also had a small table and 4 chairs which was great as we didn't go for the breakfast option but needed somewhere to give the kids their breakfast of a morning. Perfect! There was also a lovely coffee machine (pods were replaced daily) and a kettle.
The hotel is situated on a beautiful pedestrianised street, one of the reasons we chose this hotel. It looked so pretty on the pictures with the little cafes/shops but also the safety element with having 2 children.
As I said we never had breakfast here, although I'm sure it was lovely, but we did sit outside at the hotel bar most days. It was so nice to sit and people watch and the drinks were great...so inexpensive too!
The hotel is in a great location. Next door is one (of many) ice cream shops along this street (a big bonus for the kids!) and at one end of the street is a beautiful square with churches, restaurants, cafes etc, and at the other end (across the road) is the huge park that runs through the city.
The staff were all helpful and friendly, but I must say a special 'thank you' to Emilio. He really went out of his way to check we were enjoying our stay, giving us some great recommendations about restaurants and places to visit around the city too. Thanks Emilio, it was such a pleasure to meet you!
Valencia is such an amazing city, so much to see and do! And whilst I personally love an old town and a cobbled street or two, San Lorenzo was the PERFECT hotel choice for us and we will DEFINITELY return!!

It is a 3 star hotel in the old town, close to the Cathedral.

It is in the pedestrian part of town, so taxis will leave you some 50mt away from it.

Clean and comfortable, being the building an historical one, all the rooms are different in shape and size, nearly all of them have a balcony.

Modern simple furniture, good and quiet sleep.

Essential bathroom amenities and sufficient breakfast.

Beware that in my opinion there is no central heating, so you may need to use the air-con to heat the room a little bit.

I did not suffer the cold, but I used the air-con.

Having stayed here previously, I thought I would stay again, big mistake. The hotel is now shabby and not particularly clean. The shower was grubby with a build up of grime. The furniture is chipped scuffed and worn. The toiletries provided were very poor quality and very limited. The bed linen is worn and thin and needs replacing.
Smells of fried food was at times overwhelming.
Some of the reception staff were unhelpful and not interested. Most days the room was not serviced until 5.30 pm.
Its sad this once good quality hotel has its charm.
Lots of great places to stay in this wonderful city. But would never stay here again!!!!!!

I reserved the most expensive, hyped as the most romantic, room in Valencia“, described as being situated on the 4 floor with corner balcony, view of a palazzo, great interiors including a bathtub in the bedroom, but when I arrived quite late in the evening I was offered another room on the first floor without any of these features but with a kitchen (which I really needed for a one night stay!) instead, for the same price.
After some hefty discussions with the student receptionist and the owner on the phone we were refunded the prepaid 210€ night rate and ultimately, after unsuccessfully trying to find a room in any hotel, decided to leave Valencia and drive on to our final destination without sleep. It seems to me common practice in this hotel to sell the best rooms at least twice and to force customers to take remaining, less beautiful rooms for the same price, if they happen to arrive second (or third).

The hotel location is great for access to the best parts of Valencia. Rooms were clean and a nice size. If you get the room with the jacuzzi, you should know that it is located under a window in the open. We unintentionally visited during the Fallas Festival. Great fun but very loud 24/7. We requested a room in the back of the hotel and that helped. Also, during the Fallas, you cannot drive near the hotel so be prepared to walk for a number of blocks with your suitcase. Front desk staff were pleasant, but not a lot of help with transportation requests like a taxi to the airport. Breakfast is basic. You can do better elsewhere and there are plenty of options steps away. I would stay here again.

Pleasant hotel with excellent location, good service, value for our stay since many hotels were booked on our dates due to the Fallas festival. We walked everywhere, enjoyed seeing the Fallas and falleras parade right on the street of our hotel. Many restaurants, bakeries, small shops, museums, Cathedral, Central Mercado, etc. within walking distance of the hotel, the location is the best!

We stay here every time we come to Valencia. The rooms are clean and cozy. The staff is very friendly. The location of this hotel is just perfect. It’s located in old town itself. You can reach most of the places by foot. We didn’t eat breakfast here because there are plenty of breakfast spots in this area.

There is no parking at the hotel. There is underground public parking at Plaza del Reina, about 10 minutes walk away.

Where is the nearest metro stop? Is it easy to do from the airport?
Answer from AndrewNicoll
Snettisham, United Kingdom31 contributions17 helpful votes
The nearest stop is Almeda which takes about 20 minutes on the metro from the airport- €3 You then have a 15-20 minute walk up the Park created on the riverbed up to the hotel. Not suitable if you have lots of luggage or are in a hurry but fine if you can walk a mile and have wheels on your bag.

Hi how much is the airport shuttle for a round trip for four people
Answer from montyBelfast
belfast42 contributions45 helpful votes
also strongly suggest bicycle tour from just round the corner, the eating place right next door for snacks, Zoo and Oceanarium or whatever it is called, you can walk to both but suggest doing both routes on tourist bus … great to see the City and you can hop on or off as necessary. Climb to top of church tower, again just at bottom of the street, fantastic views and cheap. Tons of places to eat but most not out till about 9pm at night when they all suddenly appear. Small roman museum bottom of the street, look left and there it is hidden, handy for a hour or two and free on the day we went. City gates, 2 sets left, good for a wee walk and good view.
