This is a beautiful b&b with rooms built right into the rock. Location was perfect, right in the middle of the old town. Parking is outside of the old town, but the place is accessable by car for a few hours each day. The people running the place, were very friendly and gave

This is an amazing place in the middle of an amazing city. The staff could not be more accommodating. Tatia is one of the most friendly people I've come across in traveling and I have traveled extensively. I would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Matera. Thank you

"Both rooms are good."
"Sassolino B&B has only 2 rooms. The first floor room has a window to the outside and a small adjoining bathroom(If you are at all claustrophobic go for the second floor, the shower is tiny on the first floor). Second floor has a larger room with no outside window and the bathroom is down the flight of stairs, but completely private. Either room would be fine. the second floor room has the larger bathroom."
"There are only two rooms - try to get the one with the window."
"We loved the upper room, large and very beautiful!"
"Take a look at the photos on line. The upper room has a wall of milk glass to let in light, but no view. The lower room has a small window with view. Access to the shared outer room means a terrific view of the sassi and town. We met wonderful, interesting travelers staying in the other room."
