We booked just one night in this lovely B&B, to attend the LIVING NATIVITY in the Sassi. The towns people decorate and dress in very authentic looking garments, while reenacting some of the scenes you might expect, some you may not. It was lovely, energy everywhere, lots of people in the main piazza and magical. We arrived in the late...

We did not actually stay there at that time but we used to have breakfast at their Cafe which was just across the road from where we stayed. Everything in the Cafe was spick and span and via Fiorentini is a good street to be on. On the final day our landlord had ordered a taxi fro 10am to take...

Staying at B&B Sax Barisano feels like visiting a favorite aunt and uncle. Aldo took us to see some sights giving us a personal tour. They have such great pride in Matera that it really helps you appreciate this special place. The room with loft is spacious with lots of character.

The owners could not have made this a more perfect stay. They made our stay. Aldo and Rosa. We stayed for 3 nights. The breakfasts were incredible, including local breads, meats, home made cheese, tomatoes, fruits, tea and coffee. We ate like Royalty. They also have a restaurant which is equally excellent, positioned next door but one to the accommodation....

Our hosts, Aldo and Rosa, made our stay in Matera memorable for all the right reasons. From Aldo's kind greeting, complete explanation of all the facilities and help to find the secure parking for our car (he even accompanied me to it, organised a cheap special rate for our 2 days, and then walked back to the B&B with me...

We loved everything about this place. The apartment itself was spacious and clean; the balcony, looking out over the sassi and the Duomo, was fabulous and perfect for an afternoon aperitivo. The cafe/bar downstairs was great and run by a friendly woman. Best of all were Aldo and Rosa... the best hosts ever! Rosa was so sweet and her breakfasts...

We stayed for 2 nights in August. Matera was wonderful. This little apartment was amazing. I had a decent map and we found it pretty easy. Free parking on the street. The room and loft are spacious. The location is perfect for exploring day and night. We finished each evening with wine on the large terrace looking up toward the...
