I can't say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. My wife and I used this as part of your base camp as we explored the Amalfi Coast on our honeymoon. Its location to the central downtown area was a short 3-minute walk down a hill to where the buses and ferries are. All the shops and restaurants in Amalfi (town) are right there too.

More importantly, the views were SUPERB in our room (and looked to be just about any room when looking up from the outside of the hotel). This made recharging our batteries in the room that much more enjoyable.

If that wasn't enough, the pool was UNBELIEVABLE!!! It overlooks the Mediterranean Sea with access to the sea to swim in a private area is you're so inclined.

The staff was very friendly and helpful too which simply put, was the icing on the cake. We would stay here again and highly recommend it!!!

My wife and I have stayed here four times and consider it our home when in Amalfi.
The public areas and rooms are beautiful, and the staff is welcoming and very helpful—assisting with recommendations and reservations for restaurants and excursions. The views from the sea view rooms are quite stunning. Breakfast buffet is excellent. The two restaurants have very good food and friendly service. Dining in the evening on the terrace overlooking Amalfi is truly a special experience. The pool area also offers access to sea swimming, which we enjoy very much. Access to the town is also convenient by using the little door in the rear of the lobby. We highly recommend this hotel.

We were impressed with the friendliness and welcome from all the staff at the hotel. They held a late check in for us and were incredibly accommodating by keeping the restaurant open late for us to eat. The food was average here, which was a surprise as the hotel is 4 stars, the waitors are dressed very smartly and tables are dressed to give off the impression that the food would also be to a high standard. The receptionist was helpful in helping to organise our trips and suggested many things for us to do. The hotel itself is a bit of a walk up a moderate hill, but it's away from the bustle of the town centre.
The room we had was pretty basic and I think for the age and nature of the hotel it could be seem to need updating. As we were on honeymoon we were a little disappointed with the room and were expecting to upgrade to one of the better ones but it didn't matter too much. We still had a nice view from the balcony but the bathroom needed redecorating and the TV was small. There also wasn't a lot of space and this made us storing luggage a challenge.
Breakfast was lovely, and each day there was some variety with the pastries and fruit offered. The only thing I would have liked was fresh orange juice as the bottled ones were limited and also variety on the cooked items. We would recommend the hotel and return on the basis of the staff making us feel so welcome, but only if we were offered a nicer room.
We were also a little put out that despite informing the hotel prior to our visit and wearing honeymoon t shirts upon arrival no one congratulated us. We did however receive a bottle of fizz in the room, but it would have been nice to been appreciated more since we had chosen to spend our honeymoon at their hotel.

What a shame. I’m sure this hotel was good once, but not now. Even allowing for Covid, it felt like it was coming apart at the seams. The entrance, on the corner of a busy road, is awful with no one to tell you where to go, and once you find reception your greeting will be pretty lukewarm. The prices were probably €100 too much for each of our rooms, and at those prices no bathrobes, nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom, very noisy AC, cheap balcony furniture, and bathrooms which are in desperate need of an upgrade. I do get the fact the building is historic, the views (if lucky enough to have a balcony) are magnificent, and it is apparently a “destination”. The breakfast was laughable with too many uniformed staff not doing a lot, and if you order tea you get a pot of hot water then have to get your own teabag from the buffet. Plates are not cleared fast enough so we had to dump them onto the next table. They have a kitchen so why not produce cooked food to order instead of having it fester in hot plates? What a waste of the beautiful views from the dining area. Most people seemed to walk into town to eat and drink as it was so unappealing to stay. Get a great chef, upgrade the bar and restaurant areas and become somewhere people will come to for an experience. COVID would have decimated their income, but instead of trading on past glories, use some imagination and spend some money! The trouble with these places is someone famous stayed there a long time ago, and they trade on that forever.

This is a converted monastery, and therefore, the accommodations are modest. Most rooms are small and the distribution of the building is awkward, with multiple levels and half-levels. the first room they offered us had the bathroom half-a level higher than the bedroom and the balcony even half a level higher. The hotel is very quite, lending itself to good quality sleep, despite opening pt onto the Amalfi road. The restaurant is good, with an excellent breakfast buffet and a good selection of lunch and dinner items. The restaurant service is spotty and unsophisticated. While there is a bar, it is usually unattended and you have to go to the front desk to request bar service. Considering all this, this is a four-star hotel, at best, but because of the location in Amalfi, is quite expensive.

A really great hotel lovingly restored from a convent with many original features carefully maintained, refurbished and utilised resulting in a really elegant environment. Very conveniently located a short stroll from all that Amalfi had to offer. Really helpful and friendly staff. Amazing breakfast offering but the lunches/dinners were very pricey so we went elsewhere - a better value snack menu alternative would have been useful. Improved signage would also help as we initially found the hotel difficult to navigate. No menu’s or service options available in room. Shower adequate but modernisation needed now. Overall extremely nice but some improvements needed to improve the customer experience yet further.

Location is perfect and views are amazing. Far enough away from Amalfi town to avoid the hustle and bustle however close enough to walk to restaurants and bars with ease.

Views are incredible. We had a tiny balcony but the views made up for it.

Room was very basic, small and noisy. Window in our bathroom could not be closed so let in moths and mosquitos. Also appeared to be on another rooms balcony who were very loud and kept us up.

Staff were very helpful, cleaning basic. We gave our keys in at 9.30am one morning and when we got back to the room at 4pm the cleaners were in there so we had to wait.

Breakfast selection was good.

Pool was amazing and the reason we booked the hotel. Access to the sea however only a few sun beds in the sun so get down early.

Overall was a good hotel but not worth the €410 per night we paid!

We liked this building of the early 20th century, even if it would need some works in the rooms and balconies. The swimming pool was closed late March.
The staff is very nice and helpful. Great Breakfast in front of the sea in an atmosphere of Visconti's movies.

I spent few days in Hotel Luna Convento, being so lucky to have the same suite where Ibsen composed his masterpiece. Amazing view from the windows, elegance, silence, smell of sea. What else? In the hotel you can find 2 marvellous restaurants ocean view, serving top class food, and especially fish of the gulf.
For your relax you can have a drink in the central cloister belonging to the original convent inside which the hotel was built.
During the day you can go down to the sea, around the comfortable swimming pool created among the rocks and fed with salt water, at the foot of an ancient Saracen tower.
It is difficult to imagine anything better in the splendid setting of the Amalfi coast.

This hotel, which was once a convent, is charming and beautiful…and each of their 45 rooms has a view of the sea. Go for one with a balcony — you might not want to leave your room. It’s like looking out at a movie set…it almost doesn’t seem real. The front desk staff — led by Antonella and Salvatore— are very helpful and kind. They can arrange a car for you, a rental boat, dinner reservations, and more. One of the features we like the most is the pool built into a cliff with rock platform and access to the sea. Swimming in the blue, clear sea and looking up at the rocky cliffs is spectacular. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and varied — and the tables are on a terrace so you can enjoy the stunning view as you sip your cappuccino. In the evening, the center courtyard is set up for happy hour, which is lovely, as well. It is adorned with lemon trees and flowers — another beautiful view! We have been coming here for over 20 years and hope to return soon.

The hotel restaurant is very much a traditional restaurant. They have excellent local food but are limited. I suggest calling the hotel and asking. They are very responsive on the phone and by email.
