Aurora Hotel is the perfect spot to spend an unforgettable holiday in Amalfi.Located nearby the Amalfi Marina, the hotel is only 500 meters from the hustle and bustle of Piazza Duomo. It is the ideal accommodation for visiting the Amalfi Coast and its picturesque villages, such as Ravello, Positano, Capri and even the Pompeii Excavation, which are all within easy reach. The bus station and the wharf are only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. After a long day-trip, Aurora Hotel is just a short walk to downtown and the beach, and it is accessible without climbing stairs. One final recommendation from the hotel management: if you want to spend a few relaxing days in Amalfi, please check Aurora Hotel location on Google Maps and compare it with other hotels. Most of Amalfi hotels are located in the noisy old Town, accessible by climbing long stairs; some others are located on the highway to Positano, so you will need to take the bus, a taxi or your car in order to reach the city, driving down one of the busiest roads in Italy!

Our visit to Amalfi, Italy was enriched by our stay at Hotel Aurora. The Superior Terrace Room with a View was ideal, and we would stay there again without question. Watching the sun rise and set over the Mediterranean Sea was priceless. Hotel Aurora is situated just about at sea level, and our room was on the top floor (4th floor). It was the perfect location; approximately 1/4 mile to the town center. Ideal for strolling along the shoreline to and from the town center. Their is a special charm staying at Hotel Aurora, and their four star rating is well earned.

The room was very comfortable for my husband and me, the tiled bathroom was fresh and clean, and the tiled terrace with chaise lounge chairs was perfect for relaxing as we watched the boats, ferries, vessels, and ships travel in and out of the harbor.

The bus station and the ferry port was also 1/4 mile from Hotel Aurora. Catching the bus, or taking a ferry to tour the coastline, visit the Isle of Capri, or visit Positano is very convenient and allowed us to forego a rental car. After watching the traffic on the very narrow roads in Amalfi, Positano, and Ravello, neither my husband or me would ever attempt to use a rental car. The mass transit system worked well for getting to and from, and around the Amalfi Coast.

The breakfast included in our hotel room package was perfect. We would make our breakfast selections in the evening, for the next day. At our arranged time we would go to the outdoor garden terrace, and our breakfast would be served by Andrew and his staff. Eating on the terrace, as you viewed the sea and the harbor was very special.

From Enrico, to Andrew, Anna, and Andrea, we were graciously welcomed to Hotel Aurora. They provided exceptional service, and made us feel welcomed as if we were extended family members from America. From arranging our travel to and from the Naples airport, providing detailed assistance with the COVID testing locations to meet the heightened pandemic restrictions for travel, and helping us find restaurants and areas of interest, they made our visit to Amalfi a once in a lifetime experience. We didn’t speak the language (we tried), but they were bilingual which helped ease our level of comfort.

Hotel Aurora is a beautiful boutique hotel, and Enrico, Andrew and staff went above and beyond to ensure our accommodation needs and expectations were exceeded.
The pride they have in providing exceptional service is second to none. In our book, their level of service earned a ten-star rating.

Stayed here for 5 nights third week of September 2022 and loved it! We had booked an ocean front room with balcony and boy was it amazing! We were in Room 32, which front desk said is the best room/balcony in the hotel and we agree. The location is less than 10” walk from main dock and easy 10” walk into main piazza but away from the big crowds. It’s a tiny elevator to get up to main lobby and rooms but you are distracted by all the beautiful tiles on the walls and floors. The room and bathroom were both very spacious and very comfortable king bed. Also had mini-fridge ( not very cold) and desk, closet with lots of hangers, and 3 drawers (one which locks and serves as the safe). Bathroom had lots of counter space and a large corner shower with good water pressure Our terrace was huge. Had 2 loungers and table with 2 chairs. And the view!!!! Spent several wonderful hours out there just enjoying the view. The outdoor terrace where they serve breakfast was also lovely, with plants and vines and shade and great views. Would definitely stay here again!

The Hotel Aurora is a wonderful hotel located at the end of Via Lungomare de Cavalieri in Amalfi. The hotel is an older building that has renovations in that past that add comfort without jeopardizing the quaintness and architecture beauty of the interior spaces.

The rooms are smaller, which should be expected for an older hotel. However, the rooms are quite lively and well appointed. The hand painted tiles that adorn the bathrooms as well as the floors are magnificent. And different rooms have different tiles.

The staff is exceptional and do everything to provide the very best customer service. My bed was a little hard and I was hoping to get an extra blanket to put under my sheet. When I mentioned it to Andrew (who was helping to move a mattress in the hallway) he immediately asked one of the housekeepers to get me a mattress cover. I came back to my room an hour later and two housekeeping ladies were putting a wonderful memory foam mattress cover on and remaking my bed. Absolutely top notch service.

So Andrew as I mentioned earlier needs to be acknowledged for being a tremendous asset to Hotel Aurora. He was our luggage porter, our breakfast waiter, front desk/lobby helper, barista, housekeeping and maintenance. Not only was he always around and helpful, but he was always in a good attitude and manner. This is the kind of person I would seek out and employ when I was still working.

Loved our 6 day stay in this cute hotel at the far end of the waterfront in Amalfi. It was away from all the crowds in a quiet spot in front of the harbour. Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the ladies cleaning our room to the staff serving breakfast on the beautiful outdoor terrace to everyone on the front desk who went out of their way to help us with all our queries. They also organised a car to pick us up at Naples Airport to transfer us to Amalfi. Everything was taken care of for us. Our room was large with a large bed and huge terrace with sun beds and small table and chairs where you had amazing views. Breakfast included a large selection of breads, savoury and sweet pastries, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, cold meats and cheese, scrambled eggs and bacon. Close by were three restaurants and a small bar. 10 minutes away along the waterfront is the local bus and taxi pick up point, also where you can get the ferries to other towns on the Amalfi coast plus Capri and Sorrento. The town main square and cathedral are just another few steps from here, plus numerous restaurants, cafes and shops. We loved every minute and will definitely come back to Hotel Aurora.

Located a few hundred meters from the center of Amalfi the hotel is vey calm and quiet.
But yet you can walk downtown in 10 minutes to go shopping or visiting a restaurant. Many rooms has a view out over the sea. The very helpful and englishspeaking staff is more than happy to give you advice on how to travel around. The busstation and harbour is very close if you also want to travel outside of Amalfi. There is a lot to see in the area. Avoid the high season as Amalfi gets too crowded during that period.

Stayed 3 nights here on part of our honeymoon while visiting Amalfi.

Right off the bat it should be noted that this hotel is arguably the most convenient one given its proximity to the ferry docks. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the docks and is mostly flat surface. This is huge in comparison to many of the other hotels which would require 15+ minutes of walking (some uphill) and through crowds. Accessibility is great here.

We were greeted immediately by Giuseppe, who was manning the front desk. Although our room wasn’t quite ready (not a problem, as we arrived much earlier than scheduled check-in), Giuseppe was happy to take our bags and hold them for us so that we could begin to explore the city. When our room was ready, another worker was eager to help us bring them to our room and show us a few things in the room.

The room was beautiful, spacious, and had a great view of the ocean with a luxurious balcony. I did see a few other reviews mentioning that the mattress was too firm — I thought it was a bit more firm that many other hotels but definitely not problematic.

Each morning breakfast was provided, which was actually very impressive and had a much better selection than a typical continental breakfast at a hotel.

Overall very impressed with Hotel Aurora and will not think twice when booking it again when we return to Amalfi.

We spent four nights at the Aurora, October 7th-11th. Enrico. Andre, and Lisa at the front desk were very hospitable. Our housekeeping staff, Anna, Anna, and Julia, were wonderful. They made our stay feel like we were at home! The rooms are spacious and the terraces are large with a view of the harbor and coastline that is amazing. We also cannot thank Andrew the head Hospitalier for his attention to our every need. While this hotel is not the cheapest or the most expensive in Amalfi, The value is worth every Penney! The best part of this hotel is its location! everything in Amalfi is within walking distance. Where most hotels are hanging on the sides of the magnificent coastal mountainside, this hotel is right on the entrance to the harbor and private beach, If you are planning several dinners in Amalfi you can access the best restaurants within a five minute walk. No stumbling up huge fights of stairs after an evening out! We live in Assisi, Italy and are already planning to return next year!!!

Hotel Aurora is a great place in Amalfi, we agreed with the many other reviewers about the location, just 5-10 minutes walking from the port where the ferry dropped us off. The staff were wonderful, kind and helpful, and the room had stunning views of the ocean just steps away. We found it very comfortable, no problems with the furnishings as some have mentioned, it was a really great experience, we wished we had more time to spend here. Will definitely be back when we visit Amalfi again!

Everyone at the Hotel Aurora was super friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived! They were helpful in reclaiming my friends passport, as well as securing reservations at nearby restaurants (and any other requests we had).
We booked the terrace rooms and they were absolutely amazing - beautiful views! The AC in the room worked great (which was a life saver since it was 90 and humid all week). This can sometimes be an issue in our European hotels.
The hotel was very clean and quaint, nestle in the corner of the harbor. It was an easy walk into town. I would stay with the Hotel Aurora again.

I always try to be honest in a review and with that being said I don’t leave a lot of reviews. We arrived at hotel Aurora from Rome where we stayed at hotel Artemide which is a 4 star hotel. This is not a 4 star hotel. I will start with the good things. First, the location is great and for an included breakfast it’s pretty good. The staff though not big on problem solving are courteous and the hotel is very clean.
The negatives to me make this hotel at best a low 3 star. First, we paid extra to have a hot tub. This hot tub did not get hot (29 degrees) and they did not give a good explanation for this. We also chose this hotel for the private beach touted on the website- on arrival, we were told there is only use of the beach starting in June- it looks like they rent it out to the restaurant across the street during the off season. The beach and hot tub were the two main reasons we chose this hotel, and we had neither. Our mini split ac(which I have a mini split) should have been capable of freezing us out of our rooms, but we had to sleep with our balcony doors open. If amalfi gets hot in the summer time you will be in trouble. Last the beds are prob the most uncomfortable beds I have slept on at a hotel. I was ok because I can sleep on anything but if you can’t, beware! When these problems were brought to the staff we were directed to email management and had not received a reply by the time we left.

Dear Mrs ChrisR769 As I wrote in my previuos e mail I am very sorry for your complaint. Your reservation came through a Big OTA and the hotel is not responsible for any description edited by online travel agent.BIG OTA is a huge internet portal with hundreds of travel agencies and each ones are responsible for their web site Below the description of services on our web site that we are responsible for. - Hotel Aurora offers a little corner of paradise: a stoney beach just in front of the hotel well equipped with sunbeds and beach umbrellas. Clients walk 40 metres to the Lido delle Sirene to get the hotel’s private beach.
Always accessible, it has a limited number of sunbeds and umbrellas. For further information and reservations contact our hotel. Service available from June to September under reserve of City Hall rules.- Regarding the Jacuzzi on your terrace the water is room temperature like the outdoor swimming pools everywhere. The Hotel has not any Spa. Best regards Daniela Carrano Hotel Aurora Amalfi Owner and General Manager
