While staying in the city central the possibility of resting in a quiet, well-equiped and clean environment is given by the hotel. Furthermore, very nice front desk service with outstanding language skills. We were given everything we asked for additonally. Definitely returning.

Overall good hotel with ocean views from balcony. Friendly and helpful front-desk. Close to all attractions without having to climb too many stairs.
Ask cab/taxi to drop off next to the fountain, then just climb the stairs next to Deutsche bank. You cannot get any closer to the hotel by car.
WiFi in some rooms is terrible/ unusable, check before you settle in.
No coffee in the room. Ask for a electric kettle from the front-desk and buy some instant coffee (if u r a coffee person like me)

Stayed here 2 nights. Got a large room facing the Mediterranean Sea. Great view. A bit hard to find the hotel.. Had to ask around before someone showed us the steep 30 to 35 steps to reach the hotel. From the outside hotel is very run down and needs a lot of maintenance. But it has been refurbished and the room we got was large with quirky retro fittings and colours. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast adequate. Staff very attentive. Asked if they had Soya milk which they did not. But next morning at breakfast there was soya milk on the table. Thank you for this.
Value for money. Ok for a good night's sleep.

This hotel is so old and dusty and the rooms have a musty smell and are terrible. If you are located in the front rooms they are very noisy. Breakfast was very ordinary and we did not eat there because of cleanliness. The front desk is manned by a grumpy old man. I do not recommend this Hotel.

This hotel was one of three that I stayed at during a recent trip to Naples Italy and it was the best of the three. The hotel is older but kept very clean and the floors were immaculate. There are various books around the hotel and the bed was comfortable as well. The room had an ocean view and was centrally located to the main drag in Amalfi. You do have to navigate a short, fairly steep staircase to access the hotel. Highly recommended.

Pros: the hotel was very clean, bed was great and manager was helpful. Bath had a jacuzzi tub. It’s located across from the Duomo and near many restaurants. Don’t eat at the RistoranteTerrazza Duomo, terrible service (see my review)
Cons: The lobby is located on the 2nd floor with no elevator. If you have heavy suitcases you will have to lug them up a huge flight of stairs. Don’t know about all rooms but we had a bath with only a hand held shower and no shower curtain. Breakfast was less tha average

The room was clean and spacious with a little balcony overlooking the sea. The location is ideal for spending a couple of days in the town of Amalfi. Right off the square close to lovely restaurants.

Whilst not a modern room, you will find everything you need.

Great staff, great location

Lots of stairs up to the Hotel but the Staff, Cleanliness, Location and old world charm make up for them. From the old guy on the desk to the cleaners and the breakfast lady I have never felt more welcome at a Hotel like I did and Hotel Lidomare. It was our last stop of a 5 week Italian Holiday. We stayed for 9 days and we couldn't fault one thing about the Hotel. In fact it was our favourite place of all 7 Hotels we stayed at in Italy. Would have no hesitation in recommending or booking next time we stay in Amalfi

Once you have visited Amalfi it is a place you'll always want to go back to. I have taken my daughter there every year for the past 6 years. We stay in a small hotel called the Albergo Lidomare, whose rooms command stunning sea views. It is three star, bed and breakfast accommodation only, but as it is situated in the centre of Amalfi, there is no shortage of choice of places to eat. We always eat at Da Barracca, which is a trattoria situated in a small square just off the central square infront of the Duomo. They provide well cooked food, with a range to suit all tastes. Over the years Antonio, his brother and their sons have become friends, as have the owners of the Lidomare. Another place to note is a little pizza shop which is situated by the walk through from the Piazza di San Andrea (in front of the Duomo) to the Piazza Flavio Goia (my spelling may be a little off here) and the sea front. Here they make and sell the best pizza I've ever tasted, and some other snacks too. The local residents of Amalfi are very friendly, and make visitors feel welcome. We have always found the town to be safe. Although being females traveling alone, we have never had any bad experiences regarding safety or anti-social behaviour, even though we visit in high season when the town is crowded. The scenary is amazing. The best way to travel between towns once there is by boat. These regularly traverse between Salerno, Amalfi and Positano,(as well as some that go further afield to Capri and Naples) althouth, of course, to see Ravello the bus is the only option, unless of you've hired a car. I would not consider hiring a car as there is very little parking space in Amalfi, and the roads are very narrow and tortuous. The scenic route along the Costeria Amalfitana is not one for drivers unused to it. The local drivers, especially the bus and coach drivers display impressive expertise in their handling of their vehicles. The sea is beautiful, although there are only a few beaches, some of which need to be reached by boat, but these run regularly during the season. We go back each year for the total relaxation it provides, although, if we did decide to be enerjetic, access to places of interest is easy via the boats or local busses. Amalfi is not a place for those who are looking for loud discos and a place to get drunk, or for people with small children looking for resort 'kids clubs' where they can dump the kids and go off by themselves. It is a hugely atmospheric, historic town, peopled with genuine, warm inhabitants.

My wife and I stayed in the Lidomare for several days in January of 2000. We loved it! Our room was simple but more than adequate, but the view from the room and its balcony were incredible. The location was perfect, the hotel matron was very warm and motherly and best of all... it was a real bargain. I highly recommend it.

I don’t think so. Amalfi is a small town, and most streets are pedestrian only. Perhaps contact the hotel and ask their concierge where the nearest parking is. They are very helpful! Enjoy your stay. 😃
