This is a lovely hotel, with clean rooms and good wifi connection. It is a short walk to the centre yet in an elevated spot from which you can enjoy the amazing views at night. Big thank you to ALL the staff - they were very friendly, polite and happy to give advice on excursions when asked
Special thanks to Signore Luigi who got up early to arrange breakfast before our flight back - we weren't expecting this and really appreciated it.
Highly recommend this place! We booked after reading the reviews and were glad we did.

Shaheena and her 2 sisters.

Our stay at Villa Lara was perfect! The staff are amazing people. Luca, Nello, Valeria, and the cleaning staff at Villa Lara are very warm and welcoming. Everything from coordinating car service, to our breakfast needs, to any extras we needed for the room, and the amazing conversations we would have every morning at breakfast made our stay such a great experience. They also have great knowledge of the areas and the recommendations they gave us were spot on! We felt like friends instead of guests. This was such a perfect experience for us and exactly what we were looking for. They even gifted us a bottle of lemoncello in our room because it was my wife and I's honeymoon. The location is perfect. Just out of the way of all the crowds but close enough to everything in the Almafi and the ferries are super close as well. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Almafi. This was the start of our honeymoon trip and as we made our way to other hotels and areas in the Almafi we kept saying that we wished we stayed longer and that we wish the other hotel's staff were are great as Villa Lara's. Dont hesitate book a room (and no I am not being paid for this. It was that great!). Another thing that was amazing was we left an item in our room and Nello was kind enough to help get it delivered to us at another hotel. Exceptional service for sure!

We thoroughly enjoyed our four nights stay at Villa Lara. The staff is friendly and the service is amazing. The rooms are bright and clean with high sealing and great amenities. Our daily breakfast on the balcony was a highlight as the sea view across Italian rooftops is unparalleled. We travel a lot and quite picky with our accommodations. This hotel definitely lived up to our expectations.

My family and I had booked two rooms with Villa Lara. However after the booking was made, the hotel allocated us rooms different to what we ordered. The booking site had a facility to contact the hotel directly. The hotel was not pleased with our query, and the responses were less than adequate.

After a few weeks we were told that the hotel couldn’t confirm my credit card used for the booking as it was invalid. I use the credit card regularly and it has never been refused, I continue to use it without any difficulty. The site requested that I update details or I would lose the booking in the next 24 hours. I updated my credit card details on the website for a number of consecutive days, but eventually got fed up with this and give up. I was then told that my booking was cancelled.

It seems to me that they did not have the rooms they originally offered. When this was followed up, I believe that they used the ‘invalid credit card and need to update’ process to get me to give up and enable them to ultimately cancel my booking. I was left with a sense of very little trust for this hotel, and would advise anyone to be very careful making a booking with them. I can see from looking at another review that I was not the only one to go through this type of experience with Villa Lara.

The hotel was amazing, the room super clean, and the location just perfect. The lift was a plus! We stayed at Villa Lara for 3 nights in June and we will definitely come back. The attention of the people working there was beyond any expectation. They advise us on how to make it to Positano, Ravello, and Atrani, and they also helped us with the reservations at the restaurants. They were super helpful. We highly recommend Villa Lara for a vacation at the Amalfi Coast. Thank you!

We stayed at the Villa Lara for 4 nights in October and had the most wonderful holiday.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, a short walk from the centre of Amalfi with the most beautiful view.
The rooms were immaculate and really well equipped, the wifi was great in all areas.
The breakfast was great, beautiful coffee and pastries in a perfect setting,
However what set this hotel apart from others were the most wonderful staff, in particular Luigi. He greeted us each night with a beautiful Limoncello and set us up the best table to look out over Amalfi. He really was the most kind, thoughtful host you could wish for.
We can't wait to return!!!!
Thanks again
Laura and Jeremy

This bed and breakfast was nothing short of amazing. The staff, service, view, cleanliness, etc were fabulous. The location was perfect, tucked away in the street of Amalfi. We woke up every morning and Luca/Nello were so accommodating. They had a small breakfast spread waiting for us. They made us Americanos/cappuccinos. All SO good! Valeria scheduled all of our private transfers. She was extremely helpful and answered all questions/requests along with the rest of the staff. The view every morning, the charming patio, and kindness of everyone will hold a special place in our hearts. We will no doubt come back here when back in Amalfi!

I couldn't be happier with our stay at Villa Lara. It's the cutest hotel in Amalfi with a magnificent view. It's up in the mountain, so it was very quiet and peaceful there. The staff are amazing and extremely helpful and friendly. Luca, Valaria and Nello are amazing. It was always a pleasure to talk to them. They were always very helpful with a big smile on their faces. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing every morning. I highly recommend this hotel. I cant wait to return to Amalfi and stay at Villa Lara again.
