Beach is directly across the street and is part sand but pebbles closer to and in water, like Positano.

About an hour plus depending on traffic. If going to Ravello or Amalfi go in over the top from the back.

They definitely have hairdryers, I looked back at my pics and could not see an iron however they have a great towel warmer that I used to straighten out some clothes as well as drying items I washed. Hope that helps.

Capri is closer to Sorrento/Naples. Have you thought about staying a night in Capri? This way you would not be rushed to get back to the hotel. Check out Viator .That might be a place to start. Buses are directly outside of the hotel, the port for ferries is very nearby as well. We checked the ferry schedule when we arrived in Amalfi Town for ferries to Positano. You can also go to Ciao Amalfi and click travel for more information. I'm afraid you would spend more time trying to get there and back and would not enjoy your time in Capri. I would not buy tickets in advance for ferries however for a special tour that includes snorkeling you might want to buy in advance. I think you would get a better price for what you want while in Capri if you stayed a night there. Hope that helps some. May your journey be a pleasant one.
