We began our anniversary celebrations at La Ninfa and it was truly a memorable experience. Gorgeous hotel, helpful staff and delicious food! It is situated at the top of a cliff with a beautiful view of the beach and only a few minutes walk down to the beach. If your trip brings you to La Ninfa Amalfi then request for room 5 as it has an attached private balcony.

The hotel has a beautiful wiew towards the ocean and the beach.
The inside of the hotel is beautiful decorated.
Starting the day with breakfast in this calm environment, looking at det ocean gave us a perfect start of the day.

The staff was very nice and helpful, and made us feel welcome.

The beach was beautiful, but 462 ( if I have counted right) steps down to get there. Getting back to the hotel from the beach, you can chose to take the boat to Amalfi instead of taking the 462 steps up. The beach deserves an elevator to make the access to the beach easier.

Fantastic little hotel located on the outskirts of Amalfi (easy reachable by local bus which runs frequently) with breathtaking views of the sea! I loved how you can pre-order your breakfast in the evening and find everything waiting for you on the morning! Bedroom was very comfortable, WiFi worked perfectly and the staff was really attentive to all my needs (even helped me find a free parking spot for the night!) Thank you Hotel La Ninfa for your hospitality!

Hotel La Nina

Check-in was friendly and professional. Be careful of the stairs as stairs off the street down (about 22 steps) to check-in with a looped rope for a railing, so be careful while carrying luggage as dangerous. Rooms 1,2,3,4 off breakfast area. Room 5 (junior suite with balcony) and 6 have a spiral type staircase down from the checking/ breakfast area again without railings, which is not good for carrying luggage.

This hotel is 2 km outside of Amalfi, but Sita busses 5120, 5070, etc. stop in front of hotel 50 M to the right at the Frazone Lone bus stop right beside the cross walk. Download the schedule. Hotel side of road to take you into Amalfi for food, etc. and drop you off back on opposite side coming back from Amalfi and €1.50 if buy ticket at stores (on main road in Amalfi to right before going up to Piazza Duomo there is a book shop down past blue door)
Breakfast is good. The fresh croissants are amazing. You complete a card with a check list of breakfast items the day before with a chosen time. Items include plenty of coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, baked goods, meats, cheese and juice. The lady who does breakfast is friendly, kind, hard and working. There is one male who would smoke out the window and drop cigarette ash on the outside porch you were on, and also not helpful.

This hotel is fairly clean, but black mold in ceiling areas needs attention. There is not a lot of space in the room but adequate. Get ready to crawl out of bed in the junior suite and stairs to the bathroom.Bed and pillows are comfortable. Plastic drinking cups in the room, wine cork remover but no wine glasses, but got some from the bar. There isn't a kettle in the room but they will provide tea for €4 I understand kettles were removed as somebody cooked noodles in the kettle. Not sure why other people have to be punished by the stupidity of a few. There is a safe with key in the room. The man who smokes out the breakfast room windows dropping ash on the balcony is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.

The view is amazing and that's what you are paying for. ……location, location, location. Everywhere in the hotel appears to be near or below the lobby / check-in / breakfast room as it is a very small hotel of maybe 6 rooms, was noisy when it got busy.

Room was tiny. Fairly clean. Views spectacular. But sun beats into windows. Air conditioning inadequate. Can’t imagine in the summertime. I hit my head on the concrete over the bed niche. Tiny bedside tables. When we went to the breakfast area to have some space it was stuffy and searing hot. The drapes were closed because the sun beat in and therefore no access to the views. Not safely walkable. Very DANGEROUS road. Not recommended for walking at all. You would need to use city bus or pre plan and book taxi or private driver in advance. No way the average person could take 400 stairs to the beach. Website should clearly indicate this. Manager or owner was sarcastic about where to obtain the city bus. Feigned language barrier. We had to leave after 1 day due to all of the above and so far absolutely no response to any attempts to get even a partial refund. Booked through booking.com which lists that we never even checked in!!! Scam scam scam! Do not stay here.

We stayed at the Hotel Laninfa in mid-October 2023. We chose the hotel largely on the basis of some very attractive photographs posted on the booking.com website (German language version) and decent reviews posted there. Had I bothered to check the English language reviews, we would have saved a lot money and trouble.

After a two day stay at a very good hotel in Capri, the stay at the Hotel Laninfa turned out to be a real disappointment. The hotel was quite distant from the centre of Amalfi and the road to the town, large chunks of it missing sidewalks was not the safest.

The hotel room that we were assigned was a real shock. The room boasted a fantastic view, but unfortunately very little else. It was very small, so small in fact that despite the fact that the bed was crammed against the wall, there was no space for chairs. We were provided with an office chair, which we were constantly moving around to cross the room. The closet meant for two persons was far too small - we ended up leaving most of our clothes in our suitcase. For want of space we ended up leaving the suitcase in the shower, which was clearly no intended for ‘bigger’ persons.
And the TV hidden above the wardrobe, was a pointless addition.

We asked the polite gentleman who checked us in, if we could have another room. We were told that we could move room for one night and then have to move again for the third night. Having prepaid the room in advance we were left with little choice but to stay there.

Dear Maurizio & Marco!
Thank you very much for all your kindness and lovely hospitality.:)
To the visitors, who are planning to stay with them:
Do not hesitate to choose them. Our room was charming, clean, well equipped and with a breathtaking view to the sea. Everything was ‘just perfect’. The staff went the extra mile even prior to out arrival, as well as during our stay.

Again thank you guys for everything, we do hope to see you soon again!:)

Excellent sea side view hotel. Some of the rooms also have sea side view. Breakfast was good. Its about 2 km walk from the bus station for Salerno. Rooms are decent enough. The hotel is more of a home converted one, but still good.

This hotel may have an outstanding view but it's high points end there. Read every bad review on here and steer clear of this place.
The 400 steps to the beach is enough, but that's just the start of the shortcomings.

This was the most horrid and frustrating customer service I have ever experienced in my life.

We booked Hotel La Ninfa for my birthday trip to the Amalfi Coast. ONLY A WHOLE MONTH after the booking, the hotel owner called me saying that he's unable to fulfill my special request for the room (I requested a particular room of the Double Room, Sea View class of rooms) because that room has already been booked. I understand, of course, that special requests are not guaranteed and at the hotel's discretion, but then the hotel owner said, and I quote, that "he would be happy to CANCEL MY BOOKING because he prides himself on CUSTOMER SATISFACTION." I asked him to repeat himself - if he's willing to cancel. He said yes.

I then took him up on his promise. I booked another hotel (of course, after a month the prices have risen, but regardless that's what I did), and called back asking him to cancel. He said I have to call the booking website (Expedia). But when I called Expedia and they tried to confirm with him, he denied any of the above happening, and that he is UNWILLING to refund me. I then requested a three-way telephone conversation. After much heated discussion, he FINALLY admitted he said the word "cancel," but meant not what one would usually understand the word to mean IN ITS ORDINARY MEANING IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, but "cancel" as in modifying the date. Which is frankly a ridiculous excuse, and the Expedia Customer Service agent agreed with me on this.

Even if he meant the latter, I think all reasonable people would agree that this misunderstanding is largely due to his own fault in misusing the word, and even if it is due to the fault of both parties (which would be quite a thing to say because he did say the word "cancel"), if he truly values customer satisfaction as he said he did, he would refund me because he can easily have the room rebooked, the hotel being as popular as it is. Alas, he refuses to do so.

EVEN MORE UNREASONABLY, when I tried to concede to modifying the date to sometime in the future, he said I could only modify the date to one day earlier, which is RIDICULOUS because I have told him on MULTIPLE occasions that my flight is on the 30th. Why would modifying the date to the 29th help me in any regard? He clearly was being exceedingly unhelpful.

What's more, he was also EXCEEDINGLY RUDE. When I asked to speak to a manager, not knowing he was the owner of the hotel, he snappishly said, "I am a little better than that, I am the hotel owner." And when I explained that I am a student and could hardly afford to double book, he said, "So you are. How nice. Nice to meet you."

In the end, I got refunded for half of what I paid. One may say 100-something pounds is not much of a loss considering I could get no refund at all, but it was unacceptable because I should not have to pay even a single pound.

We walked down and back everday from this hotel, not to far and the views are lovely. When in amalfi you can get a boat to capri and sorrento. We didnt use the buses, taxi might be an easier option.

Yes they are ... but very expensive (25€) for about 2 km. Buses run every 20 minutes or so to and from the harbour in every direction and its is about 1.50€ for a day ticket
