Villa Annalara is located on a steep rock, "la Villa", suspended between the mountains and the sea, in the historical center, in a particularly suggestive position. Ideal place where you can revitalize your body and soul, offers relax and strong emotions. The lift will lead our customers on a big terrace, nestled in the green landscape made of lemon trees and age-old plants, surrounded by bougainvilleas, rhododendrons and geraniums. It is like a window on the charming panorama of Amalfi.

My holiday and that of the friends who accompanied me to the Villa Annalara hotel went far beyond expectations,
More than a classic hotel, it is a relaxation hotel, located at the end of the main street of Amalfi, therefore central, but away from the tourist noise, with a splendid view of Amalfi and the sea.
The structure is surrounded by greenery with a splendid terrace where we also dined every evening, appreciating the excellent fish cuisine of the owner Salvatore. The breakfast is always on the terrace, full of sweets but with a corner dedicated to savory foods.
The clean, newly renovated room overlooked the terrace while my friends appreciated the junior suite on the second floor.
Salvatore is an excellent host always ready to advise you on excursions and destinations to visit or on the choice of the bathing establishment reachable by boat made available by the owner of the bathing establishment.
In the evening, before going out, we chatted amiably with Salvatore who also told us about the beauties of the Amalfi coast and the most beautiful places to visit.
I recommend it you won't be disappointed.

What about this place... Only when you arrive at the gate and look at it from below do you understand that it will be wonderful to be there. As soon as you enter the tunnel covered in jasmine with a wonderful scent and then you either take the stairs (many but comfortable) or the lift. You arrive on the terrace where you have breakfast and where the reception is located. The rooms are very nice with attention to detail, large and comfortable bathroom with everything you need. The owner is a very kind and friendly guy who is nice to have a chat with. The view is wonderful. There is a garage for cars a few meters away and a 15 minute walk away is the valley of the mills and 2 minutes away the center begins with its beautiful alleys. I highly recommend this place to stay in Amalfi. Breakfast is both sweet and savory

1. Location. When you approach Amalfi from the water the town appears in a V shaped upward slope. Annalara is at the top. It offers a magnificent view overlooking the town and the water. With cliffs on both sides, one’s view is funnelled to the Duomo di Amalfi dome in the main plaza and the harbour below..
Getting there is unique. Walk straight up the Main Street in town( it changes name several times but goes straight), through a marked gate in a stone wall, walk under a vine covered arbour flanked by gardens, into a stone walled tunnel to and up a private elevator to the hotel’s terrace. The alternative is 400 stairs( best for going down!).
2. The hotel. With only six rooms, it has a B&B feel and a sense of having it all to yourself. The terrace where breakfast is served has a fabulous view and the sounds are the birds and church bells.
The hotel serves the standard post Covid breakfast that we found everywhere in Italy- croissants, pastries, yogurt, a few cold cuts, etc and lots of good coffee. The pleasure is eating it on the terrace.
The rooms and amenities( bed, shower, etc..) are quality and compact. Our room had double doors that opened directly onto the terrace.
The owner( Salvatore) and his right hand assistant ( Lucia) were professional and helpful to us with restaurant suggestions, best transportation options and offered us a window into everyday Amalfi life.
3. Area. We made a day trip to Positano by boat( it was rough) and then took the bus( exciting!) up to Revello. Both towns are definitely worth a visit and Amalfi makes a good base. Several of the other hotel gusts were obvious hikers making use of the hotel’s location as a starting point for day hikes further up.
4. Summary. We stayed at Annalara for three nights in late May 2022 and highly recommend it for active couples looking to experience the Amalfi coast. The price / value point is excellent.

Small rooms, not particularly clean, dated furnishings , towels lysis, cold bathroom with faulty drains, in the corridor smells of sewer, flickering light, unknown socks under the bed, bathroom door that does not close. Upon arrival we were asked to pay in cash (more than a thousand euros).Pay parking not private and not affiliated in the structure. The description shows the free breakfast but in the next email this is deleted.
Terrible not to recommend!

My first trip to Amalfi was nothing short of extraordinary! Upon our arrival, which was a bit late and dark, Salvatore played a crucial role in ensuring we connected with our driver (thank you, Franco! 🥰). He was there to warmly welcome us when we finally reached our destination.

The villa itself is stunning—comfortable, immaculate, and exuding charm. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast on a beautiful terrace that offered breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Salvatore was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel right at home.

Without a doubt, when I return to Amalfi, I will choose to stay at Villa Annalara again. The ambiance is beautiful, and the people are truly lovely. 👌

Myself and my husband stayed here early October.

Firstly, the hotel is in a great location. It’s close to amalfi centre, but far away enough to feel tranquil.
The terrace area is great with beautiful views.

The host/ owner is also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

There are quite a few steps up to the hotel, however there is a lift available.

Rooms could maybe do with a little upgrade.

Only room for improvement would be breakfast which is extremely limited - although the coffee and pastries were great. Apart from the pastries we didn’t feel there was anything else we could eat.

We just wrapped up 3 nights at Villa Anna Lara. Two 55 yr old. couples and our adult daughters. We occupied 3 rooms. Salvatore (owner) and team Roberta (makes amazing coffee) took wonderful care of us! Salvatore is typically present 13 hrs. a day, helped with hiking suggestions and restaurant recommendations. The refrigerator, extra blanket and hair dryer were much appreciated. The hotel is on the outskirts of town, away from the crowds with the best view in town. There is a lift to get your suitcases up to the hotel. If you have mobility issues this will not be your place, as there are a number of stairs to ascend. If you want a 5-star hotel, go elsewhere. The price we were quoted in our email was the price we paid. Breakfast was included and quite good. If you are looking for a hot "American breakfast" go to a restaurant. Final payment is in Cash/no C.C. We had a wonderful couple day, loved Salvatore and his accommodating team. We would definitely stay here again.

Great view of the ocean from the breakfast terrace. As already mentioned cars restricted so some walking with luggage and the small slow lift could be an issue for some. It rained and was cold so we were stuck in our room when on the hotel - there is nowhere you can sit or even stand in the hotel when it’s raining. Sitting on terraces is fine when the weather allows. It’s a B and B really. There’s no bar and there was no food available other than at breakfast - which was just ok.

Buona giornata salvatore

The place is well located so you are near hiking trails and as close to the square, the beach, etc. It is well-maintained and the host tries his best to help. Breakfast was ample, tasty and you have it on the trrrace and have your fill of the beauty of Amalfi
