Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Clean, friendly, fantastic continental breakfast. Views out of this world. Pub next door €5 a pint. Good evening meals. Cocktail bar opposite. Bus to Amalfi pitching wedge away. €1.40. Last bus leaves Amalfi midnight back to village.

A lovely B&B in the village of Pogerola. You will find it 400m above Amalfi up in the mountains. A great place to stay at with a lovely host/family that takes care of you. I don’t think you can find a much better place to stay at if you visit Amalfi. 12min away from the town with the bus up,up,up. Pogerola feels like the genuine Italy that som many search for. Villa Maria have a great breakfast, clean rooms and it’s so calm and quit during the days until the people in Pogerola comes out when the sun sets. A couple of restaurants, minimart and cafés gives you what you need. If you want to take a bath in the ocean just go to Lido Degli Artisti with the bus. Just hop of 4 stops before the town or take the boat direct to the beach(4 euros) This is a place we will comeback to be sure of that. Just sit down on the big terrace at “Cocktail bar” with an espresso is worth going back for

This is a charming small hotel high above Amalfi with stunning views from the terrace where you are able to have a delicious breakfast and several happy hours. They were "pinch me" moments where we thought how lucky we were to experience this splender. Alessandro could not have been more helpful with check in and informing us about all the amenities, bus schedules and restaurants. The rooms were lovely. This is definitely the place to stay in Amalfi as it is away from the daytime crowds but has several really good restaurants within a few minutes walk and very easy to access anything we wished to do. Park your rental car not far from the property and enjoy everything the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

We stayed at Villa Maria for 2 nights recently and I must say the room was the best we had throughout our Amalfi Coast tour - We just picked B&Bs and one hotel in Positano but this was the most beautiful. We compromised on the location (Pogerola is a small town on the mountain above Amalfi) to get a better accommodation and we didn't regret it. As many other guests say, not having a car is not ideal as you need to rely on the public bus schedule but in our case we managed to walk down (around 35-40 min stairs path) twice, only in the day light straight into Amalfi city centre, took a couple of busses up and had to pay for a taxi EUR 40 only once as we missed the last bus back to Pogerola after dinner. Staff is super nice, room was stunning. We had a Jacuzzi tub but we didn't manage to make it work. If you feel like staying in Pogerola for a meal, we recommend you to try La Capannina restaurant. We expected a bit more from the breakfast as the pictures looked amazing but we can't say it was bad or anything, just more humble than expected. To comment on some other guest about the church's bells, yes it's real. We weren't bothered by it and we are not sensitive sleepers but in case, bring some earplugs.

I honestly just don't know where to begin this review. This little hotel is the cutest, cleanest, well appointed, kindly staffed hotel I have seen in a long time. It is housed in an old church with less than 10 rooms. Each room is named after a flower; we stayed in Iris, on the top floor. The rooms are stunningly clean, remodeled with attention to detail like wood beams, beautiful aqua tile floors, lovely detail in the bathroom, shuttered windows, and beautiful views of the mountain towns. The owners and staff are so kind and thoughtful and you can really tell that time and money has been put into making this a 5 star boutique hotel. Our room was spacious, with a full closet, lots of built in shelving, a large bathroom with soaking/jaccuzi tub, a mini bar with purchasable items (on the honor system), a desk and chair, side chair, in room safe, good AC, plenty of towels and tissues. Breakfast is included and was my favorite of all the hotels we visited. It is the traditional European breakfast of meats, cheese, breads, fruits, yogurts and coffee..but I really enjoyed the freshly hard boiled eggs and of course eating on the terrace adds to the experience. It's just lovely. We will always be known now as the guests who ordered too much coffee! (Crazy Americans!) We enjoyed laughing with you guys and thank you for putting up with us. There is parking nearby for cars. While not much is open early in the morning here, we did enjoy that there are a few cute restaurants in the plaza that stay open late at night. Check our Gerry's for sure! (next door) - It's the best bargain in Italy and he will sing you a song, too. There was no iron or ironing board in the room, or on property so that would be our only suggestion. If you don't have a car (which honestly, I think you need) you are at the mercy of bus schedules it's cheap, but hourly - taxis are about $40 just from Amalfi city center up to this hotel. But you cannot walk! So don't try. Overall, I could move into this hotel and live forever. It's just the best! Thank you, gentleman. We loved it!

Lovely B&B away from the busy crowds in Amalfi. Amalfi is a 20 min bus ride. We walked down once to Amalfi which took us 30 mins, but coming up would be a lot harder. Both Alexander & Alessandro were very helpful. They recommended great local restaurants and advised us how to get around Amalfi. Would definitely stay here again.

Resting above Minori and set in a lemon tree farm, a true escape awaits you. Dive up to the gates, then a challenging walk up to the residence (not for the faint hearted or infirm) you arrive in a family home. Created by mine host, the farmer with so many stories. And you are in his family’s world. The rooms a good all set into the hill side and overlooking the bay way below. The food was strading from Moma Marie’s kitchen with all the charms of family cooking. For courses every night, her pasta was a delight. We enjoyed her cooking course a hands on then eat what you cooked experience which was great fun. Not so much a learning experience but more a share of experience. The whole family joined in and shared the meal and the skills. We loved it. The only thing we would ask to change is the beds. Plastic sheet covered and pillows that twisted the neck, so sleeping not so good. But other wise excellent!
