Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it! The best part of out room was its great location! We had sea view and the main cathedral was just 2 minutes walking distance. The room was super clean and comfortable. We had room breakfast in the morning and enjoyed it while looking at the beautiful Amalfi. Staff was so helpful with our luggage and recommendations. I totally recommend this place!

Location is good, as long as one does not mind walking ON a very busy road to get to the center of town. Lies in the listing: 24 hour desk. Yes, the desk is there at all times, but no one is around at all. The check in location does not have the name given on the listing, difficult to find. No manager is available at that location either. Left notice at the office that we had no hot water last two of four days, no one showed up. Believed we had rented a room with a balcony, got a window instead. Definitely would go back to Amalfi, but certain that would stay somewhere else.

Only one thing going for this place Great View! The meet and greet for late arrival, driver had to be called to a mobile number to meet us in the square, he insisted on driving to hotel, parking in very small layby to off load us and hand us out room keys, then taking hire car to parking garage unknown to us. Telling us in broken English where to locate Cafe for breakfast and was served 7-11am, and that if we required the car at all to call 20mins before. We carried our luggage up 4 flights of high concrete steps. Room very basic although clean. Due to late arrival we investigated the area the next morning, Café located in the town 5 mins walk away. Although close to the town the 50metres to pedestrianized town of beautiful Amalfi could be perilously scary with lorries, coaches, cars and scooters being centimeters away from you in a narrow tunnel with path and even narrower bridge with no path..

Be very wary that the check in location is completely different to where you stay. You check in at a random bar with no signs or anything that say its affiliated with camere con vista so you'll spend at least 20mins looking for it as the instructions on booking/trip advisor of the address is wrong. The website says check in is at 11 but our room wasn't ready until after 12 so we were asked to leave our luggage in the back room of the bar. No one explains anything. The rooms are less than average for what you are paying for! Such a pity because an experience like this really dampens ones stay in Amalfi.

If I were to judge this hotel solely on the actual room and location, then I would give it a perfect score. The view of the water from our balcony was just perfect. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The location is ideal, very close to all the shops, restaurants, and the bus stops. The service provided by the Receptionist/Manager and the lady at the breakfast venue was just plain lousy! Firstly, there was no actual Reception at the hotel. We had to check in at a little take away joint (about 8 minutes walk away) owned by a friend of the hotel manager. The written instructions provided by the hotel for check in had the wrong address. It had a totally different business name and so we could not find the spot for "check in". We had to ask a few different shop owners before finding it. (the owner of this take away joint later told me he is not connected with the hotel at all - he is only accepting "check ins" as a favour to his friend, the hotel manager) The Receptionist/Manager (named Gerardo) gave us his phone number which he said we could ring at anytime if we had any questions/problems. I rang that evening twice - no answer! I rang again the next day. Gerardo finally answered. I asked for our aircon to be checked and/or fixed as it was blowing hot air. He asked how many more nights we were staying? (which gave me the impression that he wasn't going to bother fixing it if we were only staying for 1 night?). When I said we were staying for 2 more nights, he said he will have someone fix it the next day. This partly ruined our experience in Amalfi. It would have been nice if someone had a look at the aircon ASAP regardless of how long we were staying. It was a very hot summer! The breakfast was at a little cafe about 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. You get a coffee and a croissant - that's it! If you ask for anything else, you get a sigh and rolling of the eyes by the lady in attendance. I asked for hot chocolate instead of coffee (as I don't drink coffee). She sighed and rolled her eyes and shook her head. She didn't speak much english but her body language and facial expressions said it all! I called Gerardo again that morning to confirm if that was all we got for breakfast? He then said we could order an additional "sandwich" and he will pay for it. Imagine how annoyed the breakfast lady was when I went back to her to ask for another thing besides the standard coffee and croissant! More sighs and rolling of the eyes! So this ruined our breakfast in Amalfi. We would recommend this hotel to people who will not care if the aircon is working, or what they get for breakfast, or if any of the hotel staff will care to respond to any of your calls or requests. To be fair, this place was inexpensive - you get what you pay for. But I do believe good customer service/common courtesy does not break a hotel budget and should be generously given. Overall, we still thought Amalfi was one of the loveliest places in Italy and we will be back - but will not stay in this hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent, less than 5min from the bus station and less than 10min from the Duomo. Our room was very spacious with very nice view. There is no 24h reception desk at this hotel, so we had to arrive before 8pm - there was no flexibility for late check-in. Wi-fi was excellent. The room could have been cleaner. The shower cabin was very small. Breakfast is not offered.

When a traveller arrives in Amalfi, he should ask a local peoples how to get restaurant Leoncino (small lion). They manage "Comere con vista". It is in approx 150 m from Amalfi's bus station. Very easy to find. Staff is very friendly and speak good English. Apartments are in old romantic building with really amazing view. Wi-fi works excellent and all other facilities are also in good condition. In nearest area are many restaurants and supermarket. "Sentiero degli Dei" (Path of God); 12 km path from Bomerano to Positano - must visit place!! Really! I will remember it all my life! :) Check in internet what it is and don't hesitate contact me if someone needs ask something.

Very handy for everything - transport and the town, with beautiful views. I, too, couldn't find the designated check-in place and would advise going to the accommodation and calling from there. Nothing fancy but everything you need.
