I have just returned from my yearly trip to study Italian in Salerno and of course I stayed at Salerno Centro Bed and Breakfast – since I began staying there several years ago it now feels like my second home! I had planned my trip last January and due to the unexpected Covid-19 pandemic since then, I was uncertain that it would happen. However, Italy was one of the very few European countries to which one could travel in September and luckily I was able to travel there as planned. I received a great welcome from Lina and Pasquale who picked me up from the airport and even though we all had to wear face masks, it didn’t dampen my happiness in returning again to Salerno and seeing my friends again. Of course there were general safety regulations in place for Covid throughout Salerno (indoors and outdoors) and the B&B was fully compliant with these rules. So I certainly felt safe and protected whilst there. Social distancing rules were complied with at the breakfast table, but this didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the delicious and abundant breakfast, nor conversation with other people. I felt as snug and safe at the B&B as I always do. The standard of cleanliness, the facilities and comfort, as always, were faultless! My very spacious room (“Positano”) with private bathroom, outdoor terrace, mini fridge, television and air conditioning was very comfortable indeed. Because Salerno Centro B&B is situated at the heart of the old centre of town I was able to step outside every evening and enjoy a stroll along the nearby wide shopping street (the Corso) and also along the narrower Via dei Mercanti . I was happily surprised to find all my favourite shops open as usual after what I know to have been a tough period of lockdown earlier in the year. All the local restaurants were open for business as usual and properly compliant with distancing and safety rules as were the museums and the art gallery which I visited during my trip. It was wonderful to walk just a very short distance from the B&B to the sea front and to enjoy the spectacular views along the coast. My walk to and from school every day was a joy. The Covid situation makes life difficult for everyone right now, but the warmth and beauty of Salerno, and the wonderful hospitality at Salerno Centro Bed and Breakfast, have been balm to my soul and I have returned home feeling refreshed and positive. I have already planned my next visit there for September 2021!…
My family and I (16 people) had a beautiful time in Salerno. Our stay was perfect, the host and his mum was very amazing, they took care of everything and catered to all of our needs. From breakfast every morning to helping book tours and transportation! We picked up right from the train station and everything was taken care of. Would love to visit again in the future.
My husband and I stayed here for almost a week and it was everything I had hoped for. Our room was spacious with both drawers and hanging space for our clothes. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with plenty of hot water. Both the bedroom and bathroom were immaculate. The common areas in the B&B are very comfortable and we had our breakfast each morning at a large dining room table. When we arrived, Lina asked us what we liked to eat for breakfast each morning and she made sure everything was available for us. I highly recommend her homemade cake! The location of the B&B is perfect. We enjoyed walking along the lungomare every day and strolling along the pedestrian streets at night. But the best part of our stay was Francesco and his parents. We were immediately welcomed by all of them and by the time we left we felt like good friends. Francesco provided suggestions for things to do based on what we told him we were interested in, provided directions, helped us make arrangements to the airport and always made sure we were having a good time. The warmth and hospitality shown to us cannot be beat and we cannot wait to return for a longer stay next year. Grazie Francesco, Lina, and Pasquale!…
What can I say that hasn't already been expressed by so many guests who have enjoyed the welcoming charm and hospitality of this beautiful 16c B&B. Our hosts Francesco and Lina (his Mother) pay great attention to every little detail to ensure their guests are cosseted. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished & have the best beds we have slept in outside our own home. Breakfast is a varied and delicious spread served by Lina, but what impressed me most was her meticulous attention to hygiene as everything edible was covered to prevent contamination, and of course flying insects in summer. The location could not be better. Accessible to all transport & close to the beautiful beach and the winding streets full of charming little shops and restaurants. When Italian hospitality is as good as that experienced here it sets a benchmark for future trips. We look forward to returning to see the Christmas lights. …
I can not praise the B&B enough. From making the booking onwards Francesco's information and directions are accurate and clearly explained, his command of English is sublime. The b&b is located in the old town just off the main shopping street. The building is an ancient palacio. You take the lift to the first floor and Francesco is there to greet you along with his mother and father. The room we had was the on suite family room. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and furniture that is coordinated with the character of the building and it includes central heating for the chilly March nights. Above all is Francesco he can't do enough for you, beginning with a welcoming glass of limoncello made by his family of course. He provided us with maps, bus and train timetables, list of historic sites and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was taken at a large table, which unlike a lot of hotels and the like each setting had their own individual jams, marmalade, nutella in little dishes all protected from insects or germs. A great range of teas are available and as one would expect wonderful espresso. When we left Fancesco escorted us to where the station and the buses were. He also offered to be our contact via whatsapp even if we were not going to stay at the b&b on our next visit.…
