Nice hotel with spectacular views. We stayed here for five nights- our room view/balcony looked photoshopped! The room itself was pretty with traditional decor. The breakfast buffet was also very good. Ate at the hotel for dinner one night - everything felt a bit dated but tasted good. We enjoyed the location of the hotel and were able to safely walk into town at all hours of day and night to town.

I felt compelled to write a review having read some frankly insane negative reviews here which all seem to be attributed to booking through third parties or totally rogue reasons such as the busy staff not entertaining attempts to get free Italian lessons from them. This hotel is stunning, we have stayed three times and will stay again this year for our most important stay yet - our wedding held at the hotel. The staff are amazing and have bent over backwards every time we've stayed no matter the request, whether we have been in the cheapest or the most expensive room. The food and drink is more expensive than some other places sure, but the location, service and quality makes up for it - a reminder for negative reviewers that Sorrento town is 5 mins walk away and there is no obligation to eat at the hotel. The pools are so beautiful, and the wildlife of the surrounding areas is such an added bonus. Trust the beauty of the photos if you're thinking of booking here, it's one of the only places I've been to in the world that is truly even better in real life.

I had high expectations when we booked but disappointed with our 6 night stay. Stayed here with 2 other couples. Pros: nice lobby, front desk, room size was good, small balcony overlooking the terrace, glimpse of the sea from afar, housekeeping, location (walkable to center) Cons: -Room was a little bit outdated. Housekeeping was good but this place puts a bedsheet on bed and no comforter. There was one fleece like one in the closet which we ended up using to keep warm and raised the room temp. Our friends who were in different rooms wondered also why there was no comforter on the bed. VERY STRANGE. I slept in one of the robes that was provided. Thin walls but thank goodness our room was at the very end so heard very little except when people were in the hallway. -No hot water one night so took a cold shower. Few other nights, it was lukewarm. Poor husband was not happy and he rarely complains. Shower head faces an odd direction so if you are tall or larger than average, you are leaning closer to the glass. -Breakfast was in a beautiful room overlooking Sorrento-massive food spread but didn't taste well. I would not go back to this place or recommend. I've stayed at 4 other European places this past summer and for the price we paid, it hit the bottom 4th.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review, we always take customer feedback into great consideration because it helps us improve the service offered. We are happy that you found the lobby, the location of the hotel, the size and cleanliness of the room excellent. As for the rooms, they are not updated but they have a classic style. We prefer not to put a comforter on the bed because we find it more hygienic and cleaner to simply make the beds with a nice freshly laundered white bedsheet. There are blankets in the wardrobe if customers wish. However, we thank you for your review which will help us improve our services and we really hope to welcome you back to give us the opportunity to give you a good holiday with us. Kindest regards, Customer relation care

First, on the con side, prices are very high (not justified), but this is common in this area of Italy, close to the Amalfi coast. But what is really missing in this hotel is some human consideration, friendliness: every interaction with the staff from check-in to service and check-out is extremely cold and impersonal. You'll be a room number during all your stay. As an example, we booked a car with driver to visit Amalfi Coast (450 Euros!), they did not even take care of providing us with a driver that can speak French or English; so for 8 hours, he just said 10 words... That lack of consideration and heat is a very negative point for me and despite the qualities I described above, I will not come back nor recommend this hotel. Now, on the pro side, The hotel is big with several buildings and I think that experience can be different based on which part you are. Some room are facing the mountain and have no sun but humidity, others have a nice view of the gulf. The room we had was clean and fresh with nice colors and decoration. Some equipment were missing, like a body weighter or bottles of water...The pool is very beautiful and unique but also very cold (heating system from solar or water panels on the roofs would be a good investment). SPA, fitness facitities, ping pong...are also available. Restaurants (3 with the pool bar) are just ok, pricy with a limited menu. On the other hand the quality of food products is very good and the breakfast with view of the gulf is exceptional: everything your can think of is there. Location of the hotel is ideal as it's very close to the city but at the same time far enough from the noise of car circulation (so many cars and jamming on the roads).

Dear Mr. Pillard, Thank you for taking the time to write the review, we are sorry to hear that the hotel did not meet your expectations. Thank you for your comments regarding our breakfast and food in general, we actually do our best to satisfy all customers and are always looking to improve the service and quality of the food we offer. We are sorry instead to hear that you found our staff not so kind, this surprises us a lot because the many reviews, both positive and negative, all agree in saying that our staff is very kind, professional and always ready to meet the needs of our customers. Regarding the car with driver service, we are sorry that you didn't like it, usually all the drivers speak a little bit of English, but they cannot describe or explain the landscape, because this is the job of the local guides. We really hope to welcome you back to have the chance to give you a better impression of our hotel and all our staff. Kind regards, Customer Relation Care

Great service, views and property as a whole. Loved the location - quiet area but walkable to downtown Sorrento (and our favorite side of the downtown). Went end of season and felt we got a good value.

We just finished a 5-night stay at Capodimonte. It exceeded all expectations! The grounds are beautiful, views are magnificent, service is warm and friendly, rooms are comfortable and quiet, the breakfast buffet has many options including made-to-order eggs/omelets and while enjoying amazing views. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting and spending time with Luigi while enjoying some night caps at the hotel bar. It’s a short walk into town, with a slight downhill slope into town. We would definitely stay here again!!

This hotel must be resting on its laurels from days long past. I cannot otherwise understand its rating. It is old, outdated, and fully lacking in upscale service at every turn. Arrived in the evening to one very low energy bell boy outside who was focused on his phone. This was his demeanor for our entire visit. So unfriendly and unprofessional. Took him a minute to acknowledge us and when he did it was without a smile or greeting. After our 24 hour journey that included a cancelled flight we were told we could not have dinner at the hotel — it was 8 pm. Apparently the restaurant could not accommodate us even though only three tables were occupied. The next morning we were directed by the front desk to the pool (??) to find coffee as breakfast service had ended. We found no one there to serve us. We walked into town to find coffee. The breakfast buffet the following morning and for the remainder of our stay had more mostly empty, picked-over platters than full, and guests were grabbing loaves of bread with bare hands as they sliced. Gross. Indoor (family) dinner venue at the hotel was the most brightly lit room I have ever seen. Great for surgery, not so much for dinner. Did not enter. A guest exiting with her daughter as we approached told us her meal was below average at best and to dine elsewhere. Went to town to find dinner. Tiny guest room with not enough surfaces and two stiff, upright, uncomfortable cane chairs. Outdated, poorly lit bathroom with no counter space and an old, used toilet brush placed between the toilet and shower. Your morning will be FILLED with the sounds of flushing toilets from every direction. The walls are PAPER THIN — you will hear everything and everyone. Loud motorcycle noise constantly from the road directly below the hotel. The “welcome” mat outside the main entrance stayed un-vacuumed and dirty for our entire stay — more than a few days. That should have been a dead giveaway of the overall experience to come. Discarded beer bottles and litter at the hotel’s road entrance that you must walk by to exit the property. Erroneous bar charges we didn’t have the energy to deal with at checkout — our 20 euro evening cocktails charge ended up 35 on our checkout bill. This was for several days in a row. Too many “nos” even for the most simple request. Would not recommend this place. As far as I can tell Sorrento exists solely to host tourists. Hordes of them. This hotel does not have to do anything special to fill rooms. And they certainly did not during my stay. There are many other hotels big and boutique to choose from — this one is a stinker.

Dear Guest, Next time we would like more imagination and above all to not choose two hotels of the same chain. You stayed at our sister hotel before coming to us and used the same trick to get discounts and not pay for your room. You didn't even take the time to invent another issue. This review offends our intelligence and also the people who read it, just look at the reviews you posted before. Customer relation care
