Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Sorrento, where we stayed at this lovely hotel. Firstly, the best bits:-
Clean and well presented hotel
Superb sun deck
Good breakfasts and le vele restaurant serves great food
Now, the minor issues:-
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Riviera - for just one night - on our way through from Naples down to Amalfi. My partner and I left wishing we had booked the entire holiday there instead. It was so perfect, so gorgeous. The views: outstanding....More
The Hotel is right at the sea side with a huge terrace, wonderful views and friendly staff. The hotel is tastefully furnished. The food is very tasty. Parking is done by the hotel front desk team for a good reason because parking is limited but...More
Stayed here for a week 6-13 July - my husband and I (age 50 and 49). The hotel is peaceful (no kids or hardy any kids) so no problems sleeping. The food is fantastic and the staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble....More
This was our first visit to Sorrento and this hotel, but it was clear many people return year after year and it’s easy to see why. Everything about the hotel was lovely.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the communal areas are very...More

We went last year - our travel agent had advised us to do the trip to Capri under our own steam and she was right. Go early to the port and try to catch one of the first ferries across. It gets very hot and very busy later! We were able to arrive when it was still reasonably quiet, got straight on the funicular railway to town (queues later!), then we made our way up on the bus to Anacapri, from where we took the chairlift to the top of the Island - don’t miss this, the views are breathtaking! We had lunch in Anacapri then made our way at a leisurely pace back, just as the crowds were really building up. It was much cheaper than an organised excursion. Have fun!
