We were a little disappointed with our room and felt it could have been made more comfortable. The mattress and pillows were very hard and uncomfortable, however it was spotlessly clean, the maid came every day, the towels were changed daily and it is a good base for seeing Sorrento. The pool area is small but we made good use of the roof terrace which has plenty of comfortable seating, umbrellas and fantastic views. Breakfast is a bit basic but sufficient and the evening meals, for a small hotel, were perfectly acceptable. The staff are really nice, especially the waiters in the restaurant and the reception staff are very helpful. Be sure to take your own hairdryer as the one in the room is naff. Also be sure to try the restaurant across the road, you have to queue for a good while but the food is amazing.
We enjoyed the scenery and sights around Sorrento but sadly we didn't like the traffic, the fumes, the crowds of tourists or the way we were ripped off by some establishments - we will not be visiting again.

We stayed here for a family holiday.

The hotel is what I would call average at best.
The staff were all really nice which helped and most spoke good enough English that we had no issues.
The staff and their politeness was the hotel saving grace for the review.

The hotel was clean and central in town with only 5 minute walk to the centre of town and close to the train station, bars and restaurants.

From our room we had a great view of Mount Vesuvius which for me personally was breathtaking along with sea views. There is also great views of this from the rooftop bar where I went each night.

The downsides....

There was no kettle or tea making facilities in the room and was charged for a cup of tea. This to me should just be included.even basic B&B's have this.

The shower pressure was shocking and for my wife after only a few mins in there the water went cold and never came back on warm.
There was no iron or ironing board and had to get these from reception. If this was just a basic B&B, then fair enough, but as a hotel this should be in the room.

We went to go in the pool and was then made to hire towels rather than use the ones we brought from our room.
What difference this makes I have no idea, but it caught us off guard and we shouldn't have to pay extra for a different towel when we had perfectly good ones from the room.

The windows are dangerously thin.
Lucky our daughter is 8 and understood to be careful, but a younger child could easily smash through these with justva touch.

The breakfast consisted of either eggs with beans, or eggs with sausage.
Eggs were way too runny. Pretty much slop.
They had the usual croissants etc too, but the cooked stuff I had wasn't really any good as far as I was concerned.

Such a shame as a lot of the issues listed above would be an easy fix for the hotel to remedy and gain an extra star in the review.

Just back from an 11 night stay at this hotel. Firstly all the reception staff, dining room staff and cleaners were all very friendly. Our room had plenty of space and was kept v clean. Towels changed every day, bedding every 3 /4 days.
The breakfast was limited in terms of variety but always plenty there.
Roof top terrace was lovely with great views. One tiny niggle I couldn't get a cuppa and take it back to my room one night.
The pool is small but never saw it rammed first thing. Saw another review that the water is cold, yes it is but no colder than any other pool I've been in abroad.
Location for us was great, the bus/train station only 5 mins away and then another 5 mins to walk into the centre.
The Irish bar on the corner was excellent. The restaurant opposite the hotel has v long queues every night. We tried it, ( didnt queue long as got there early). It was OK but nothing to shout about.
All in all a great hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Stay clear of this hotel, rooms are dirty and not maintained. Security is non existent and theft is rampant at this location. Front desk and cleaning services will steal items from your room when you’re out site seeing! Food is bland for breakfast and coffee is always cold.

We had a really lovely stay at the Hotel Zi Teresa. The staff were super helpful and friendly from the reception staff, restaurant staff, guy working at the pool and the lady who came to clean our room, I was really impressed with the standard of customer service (and hence felt that they all deserved a special mention). The hotel was quiet, rooms were immaculately clean and the breakfast was nice (especially the coffee and croissants). The pool area is small but was perfect for what we needed. I would really recommend this hotel to others travelling to Sorrento

Was worried when I saw some reviews as we are fussy with hotels, I’m glad to say we had an excellent stay from start to finish. Hotel is spotless rooms attended to every day. The pool is small and private only 20 sunbeds but also deck chairs and tables and chairs. Again spotless with a snack bar. No matter what time we went to the pool it was never full always got a sunbed even In the afternoon. Breakfast was great. Loads of pastries, cakes, toast, fresh fruit, bread rolls and cheese, yogurts. Always a hot choice (beans, bacon, sausages etc changed every day) and a full fresh egg menu so poached, fried, omelettes etc. Great location bars, cafes on doorstep, (restaurant across the road is outstanding, always a queue but worth the wait. Lunch quieter than evening) supermarket 5/10 min walk, main square, markets about a 15 min walk. Amazing roof terrace where you can sunbathe (more sunbeds) or go in an evening for drinks. Gorgeous views of mount Vesuvius and naples bay, just as pretty at night as during the day. Inside was nice and traditional, the rooms were cute and had a balcony, Plenty plugs and a USB, shower was powerful and toiletries provided. Quick tip you can hire beach towels for €3 and keep for stay. Save packing your own. Also slippers provided found these handy. Thanks would definitely stay again!!

The rudest staff I have ever had the misfortune to meet. The tone was set when we arrived to check in and mid checking us in, the man on reception answer the phone and took a booking. He then told us our room wasn’t ready and waved us away dismissively. We went to a shop to get a drink and sat outside to wait, before rudely being told we were only allowed to drink our own drinks in our room, we explained it wasn’t ready and the man shrugged and walked away.

When we eventually got into our room the air con didn’t work, we called reception and they said ‘I will reset’ and hung up, never checked to see if it was working.

We went out the next day and avoided the hotel, the second day we decided to spend time by the pool. We came down and put towels on our loungers and sat there for a bit before going down to breakfast and then grabbed a couple of bits from our room. When we returned our stuff had been dumped to one side as they allegedly don’t allow you to reserve loungers, despite several other loungers having been reserved. There was no solution offered by the hotel, yet again another shrug and walk away.

They treat the customers with absolute contempt and seem genuinely angry that they are here and having to work. We have been to Italy a lot and never encountered staff that seem to enraged by the existence of customers. It doesn’t seem to matter how much you try to smile or speak to them, they simply do not like customers.

The hotels location is convenient and the rooms are clean if a bit dated. Breakfast is dire, stale pastries and the most sugary juice I’ve ever experienced. There’s usually two hot items and that’s it. There’s no water and you’re not allowed to bring you own. It’s honestly the Italian faulty towers. I cannot honestly recommend other than it’s a good location.

Very disappointed with this hotel especially the food and staff attitude in general with the exception of one lady in reception. We were half board with jet 2 and had to eat out most nights as the food was awful wouidnt give it to a dog one choice for dinner was rabbit no thanks breakfast not much better cold scrambled egg every morning and toxic orange juice no choice at all unless you want to eat cake for breakfast. our TV hzd 2 English channels which went off in the storm.one night gave up asking after 3 days of being told the maintenance man was coming to fix it .the whole place has no atmosphere and dinner is in a dungeon downstairs which is like a morgue very few eating each night no surprise there . Only one lift for the whole building which is a joke the cleaning ladies using it as well which makes it impossible to use it during the day it does have a rooftop terrace but no bar during the day there is phone to ring the barman which I did one afternoon to be told if I wanted a drink I would have to go down to the pool ! All the staff look miserable prob cause they seem to wk 12 hr days sane faces every day .the location is handy and place clean but apart from.thst no gd points stay elsewhere

Dear Customer, We are very sorry for your comment. Truly all the hotel staff do their best every day to please the customers and for this reason they are all very sad when they fail. However, we thank you for referring to our strengths: cleanliness, location; and we hope that you were still able to enjoy your stay in our splendid Sorrento.

Just recently visited and yet again a warmest of welcomes and a great holiday.
This hotel is close to the train station and a short walk into the main square.
The staff are great, from the front of house team, maids and waiters, friendly with a warm welcoming smile.
The room was kept clean and regular change of bedding
The breakfast is first class, there is so much choice
There absolutely is something for everyone
I have attached some photos to show off the choice
Every morning we had great freshly cooked omelettes from the kitchen
There is nothing that is to much trouble for the staff
Any questions or issues just ask and they are more than happy to help
A special thanks to Regina for helping us with our stay
We look forward to returning just as soon as we can.

A heart felt welcome back to Sorrento and the Zi Teresa Hotel by staff old and new.
Nothing too much for staff to give a helping hand.
Our room was cleaned and bed made by the lovely maids who greeted us each morning.
Breakfast was in the dinning room and plenty of things to make choices from, 2 hot choices every day, fruit, cakes, meat, cheese coisants and cereals. fruit juices and coffee and selection of tea.

The evening meal menu is provided at breakfast time with a choice of 4 different starters and 4 different main courses followed by a choice of 2 desserts you pick which you prefer and also either a 7pm or 8pm sitting, the restuarant staff are more than happy to help with food requirements. We all enjoyed the meals provided.

Each morning after breakfast we made use of the roof solarium for an hour before going out, nice to sit as the sun is coming out enjoying the view of Naples Bay and versuvius, in the evening the bar on the roof was opened and it was a nice place to sit and relax with an aperol spritz, we watched a fantastic firework display as it was Ferragosto.

The swimming pool was also well used and drinks etc available.

The hotel is set off the main street and is not too far from the railway station which we used to get to places, there is a supermarket along the main street which seems to have a no bag entry system a security person showing where to put bags in lockers??, bars, resturants and shops are also along the main street.

Ferries run from the port to Naples Capri Positano Amelfi etc, a bus will take you to Positano etc but they do pack people on them and it is not comfortable.

We will be returning to Hotel Zi Teresa Sorrento, it fulfils our needs and we are well looked after by all of the staff.
